The Wraith: Uproot - Issue 10

The Wraith was fighting the Warlord of the Shamrocks street gang. It occurred in the Shillelagh’s greenhouse. The contest had been a standoff so far as it opponent attempted to determine the strengths and defenses of their adversary.

Had one determined how to best attack the other, yet?

“Clearly, I'm fighting in her environment,” David thought to himself, observing the shapely outline in the telekinetically created whirlwind of broken glass and leaves.  “Let's uproot her and see how she blossoms without all this foliage around.”

David teleported right behind her.  He reached to grab her in a sleeper hold.  Glass whipped across his arms and hands.  He was shocked by the pain and was unable to set the hold.

[GM Note: Rolled a 20 on grab attack; Glass 6 damage points, -4 to Power Points and -2 to Hits]

Shillelagh attempted to strike The Wraith with the shillelagh in her hand but was unable to twist into a position to strike.

The Wraith set the sleeper hold on Shillelagh and teleported to the roof of a building a half mile away.

On the roof, Shillelagh twisted and kicked attempting to break the hold but wasn’t able to. “Let meh go!” she yelled.

[GM Note: To break the sleeper hold Shillelagh did a strength roll against The Wraith: HtH vs HtH.  She rolled a 2 and he rolled a 4.  The Wraith can use his TK to increase his HtH dice but you have to tell me he is saving movement for that and how much movement is being saved.

I added Wrestling to The Wraith’s character sheet, so he would not suffer a -4 penalty in the grab attempt for the sleeper hold.  I was thinking that David could have been on his High School Wrestling team and that is where the skill came from but it is up to you.  If you want to change it to another fighting style which includes chokes and holds please let me know.]

OOC:  David's plan is to teleport right behind her and grab her in a sleeper hold, bringing her in as close as possible to him.  He figures he may take a little damage from whipping vines, but hopefully not too much since they'll be so close.  It may take until next round, but his next action will be to teleport them both to a nearby rooftop--where she'll have no plants to work with.  Heaven knows what other powers she may have up those green sleeves, but that's the plan, anyway.

The Wraith: Reap the Whirlwind - Issue 9

The Wraith is facing off with the Shamrocks’ Meta Warlord in their hideout. He is surprised to find out that it is a woman. The hideout has a greenhouse in the back section of it and that is where they are facing off.

The Wraith teleported behind Shillelagh, into the shadows of some other plants. Shillelagh smiles, “Two can play this game” and she disappeared. The Wraith smashed out the skylights over where he had last seen her. He watches the falling glass to see if you can spot her or see if the glass cut her. He saw nothing which would tell her where she is.

An eerie silence falls over the greenhouse as the two hidden adversaries plot their next move.

The Wraith thinks to himself. “Invisibility, much like mine. Perhaps an ability to camouflage herself in foliage. Regardless, maybe whipping up a wind will force her to show her hand.”

David used his telekinesis to gather up the shards of glass and cause them to whirl around in a circular motion. He moved the deadly, slicing tornado around the greenhouse, slicing up foliage. Listening closely The Wraith only hears the sound of breaking bark and ripping vines & leaves. While it is obvious she is not hurt, he can see her outline in the glass swirl.

The Wraith felt something strike his telekinesis defense. He spotted rose vines whipping around him. The vines are attempting to find him in the shadows. The thorns are raking against his defenses.

The contest has been a standoff so far as it opponent attempted to determine the strengths and defenses of their adversary. Has one determined how to best attack the other, yet?

David uses his telekinesis to gather up the shards of glass and cause them to whirl around in a circular motion. He will move the deadly, slicing tornado around the greenhouse, slicing up foliage and (hopefully) cutting into Shillelagh. If she is here and invisible or camouflaged, he'll stop once she screams or he sees blood or she reveals her location in any way.

Phantom: Exit Strategy - Issue 10

The gang-land scourge checked the remaining 2nd floor rooms and the roof. He did not encounter anyone else. He did find stolen goods, drugs, and weapons.

In the distance he heard the approach of police car sirens. It is time to execute his exit strategy.

Making his way back down the stairs and onto the first floor, Phantom headed toward the rear of the building. The merciless man-hunter then stopped right before the main corridor on the first floor, and turns into the room that the gang members were using for a bar area. He stands silently for a moment inside the doorway to the room, and takes a hard look at the interior. As he raised his P90 to his shoulder, he jerked back on the weapon’s trigger and sprayed down the liquor bottles behind the bar with the remaining ammunition in his weapon’s magazine.

The chime of glass bottles shattering can be heard between the bursts of assault weapon fire half way down the dark city block. As the last round exits the barrel of Phantom’s weapon, one last liquor bottle tumbles off the bars back shelf and lands helplessly on the floor below. Lowering his weapon he reached for one of the pockets on his vest and pulled out the Zippo lighter his wife had given him so many years prior. He paused for a second as he wiped his thumb over the front of the highly polished stainless steel exterior of the lighter, and then quietly read off the inscription to himself, ”To my loving husband . . . Semper Fidelis.” Closing his eyes he tried desperately to remember the smell of his wife’s favorite perfume and the beauty that seemed to dance within the joyful innocence of her smile.

Unfortunately for Phantom, his little trip down ‘Memory Lane’ was cut short by the sound of police car sirens drawing nearer to his location; “It’s time to go . . .”, he thought to himself. Grabbing a nearby stack of bar napkins, he snapped back the cover of his lighter and set the napkins on fire. As the bar napkins go up in flames he tossed the flaming heap of fiery paper behind the bar and waits a second to make sure that the contents of the liquor bottles have been set ablaze.

Confidant that this would be the last time any gang would set foot in this building, Phantom slapped another magazine into his P90 and made his way to the back door of the house. After he made sure that there are no surprises waiting for him outside, he opened the back door and slipped quietly into the night.

An unmarked police car is the first on the scene.  It drove up onto the grass and slid to a stop in front of the door. A detective jumped out of his car.  He was wearing a team jacket featuring the Megalopolis Monarchs logo on it, blue jeans, and tan shoes.  He ran into the burning house.  He carried out one of the inhabitants by the time the Fire Department arrived as well as two police squad cars.

As a back window blow out from the heat, flame could be seen exiting the walls of the second floor of the building.  The Fire Department focused on the first floor as they rescued more of the people inside.  The EMTs examined the victims’ wounds.

An officer brought the upstairs client to the Detective.  All three conversed together.  The Officer and Detective appeared to argue briefly then stepped away.  The Detective continued to interview the man.

The Firemen were running out of the house. Ordering everyone to back away from the building quickly.  Before a parameter is established the roof and second floor collapsed.  The crash of wood, plaster, tar, and metal smothered the first floor fire.  The house fire was put out.

As the EMTs were checking the last Fireman out for make sure his injuries were minor, a dark blue half ton pickup drove up.  It screeched to a halt in the middle of the street.  Out stepped a man wearing mirror sunglasses, a white Stetson cowboy hat, boots and two six shooters strapped on western gun holsters.

All the neighbors that were watching the fire quickly left.  They went into their houses locking their doors behind them. The Detective followed by the two police officers walked over to meet with the man. The two men start shouting and cussing at each other.

Grabbing a nearby stack of bar napkins ( OOC: or anything else that might be flammable – a roll of paper towels, a bar rag, etc. . . ), he snaps back the cover of his lighter and sets the napkins on fire. > PHANTOM’S GOAL(S) <

At this point Phantom has done what he set out to do and now its time to leave. He’s hope his exit from the area will nice and quiet with no snags or bumps.

> PHANTOM’S OOC RESPONSE <

I’m assuming that the weapons he discovered on the second floor were of no interest to Phantom ( i.e. old revolvers and such ) – is that correct? If they did appear to be quality weapons, Phantom would make sure to take ‘a few samples’ ;)

Also – I’m assuming that were not making Phantom actually go out and buy ammunition and stuff – if that’s not true then he’ll grab whatever cash he can find laying out in the house; as he is leaving, and ‘pocket it’ to fund his future urban safari’s =)

------

Awesome issue as always, Tom! I didn’t expect the cops to show up that quickly – Phantom might have to look into that in the near future – might be ‘bad cops’ out there ;)

I apologies again for getting this in as late as it is – real life can be entirely too demanding at times.

Phantom: The Second Floor - Issue 9

Phantom walked past the Son of James members on the floor. He picked up his combat knife from the floor.  The Phantom holstered his pistols and readied his P90. He entered the hallway leading to the front entrance and the second floor.  He looked up the steps to see if there was an ambush waiting for him.  He saw a photos hanging on the entrance to the stairs

He walked up the stairs with P90 ready.  He heard music playing.  He kicked open the door to the second floor.  No one was in the main room.  In front of him he saw a closed door.  Kicking in the door to the room, Phantom quickly levels off his weapon and fires three rounds at Annie Pokley. Two rounds strike her. She collapsed to the floor in a spasm of pain.

As the ‘john’ tried to run passed Phantom, the remorseless gang-land hunter drove the butt of assault weapon into his gut and knocked him to ground. Keeping his weapon in his hands, Phantom lowers the barrel of his P90 and says to the ‘john’, “If you want to live you’ll do exactly what I say.” After a brief and menacing pause he continues, “Tell the police . . . the media . . . and anyone else that will listen . . . that this city is under my protection now. Let the gangs know that what happened here tonight is only the beginning . . . that this city is theirs no more.” He then slowly moved out of the door way and made room for him to get pass, and then motioned with the barrel of his weapon for him to leave.

The ‘john’ bolted through the door and down the stairs.

The gang-land scourge checked the remaining 2nd floor rooms and the roof.  He did not encounter anyone else.  He did find stolen goods, drugs, and weapons.

In the distance he hears the approach of police sirens.  It is time to execute his exit strategy.

>PHANTOM’S IC RESPONSE<
Just wanted to switch something up on this last issue if I could, Tom. You mentioned Phantom going up the stairs with his pistols drawn – for the stairs I would prefer to have him holster his pistols and use his P90. Also – He would also recover his combat knife before he left the room he was last in on the first floor ( he dropped it during the fight ). With that said . . .

> PHANTOM’S IC RESPONSE <

Kicking in the door to the room, Phantom quickly levels off his weapon and fires three rounds at Annie Pokley.

* If he manages to ‘take out’ Annie Pokley and the ‘John’ doesn’t draw a weapon, and just cowers in fear, Phantom will do the following:

Keeping his weapon in his hands, Phantom lowers the barrel of his P90 and says to the ‘john’,”If you want to live you’ll do exactly what I say.” After a brief and menacing pause he continues,”Tell the police . . . the media . . . and anyone else that will listen . . . that this city is under my protection now. Let the gangs know that what happened here tonight is only the beginning . . . that this city is theirs no more.” He then slowly moves out of the door way and makes room for him to get passed, and then motions with the barrel of his weapon for him to leave.

* If he isn’t able to ‘take out’ Annie Pokley with his first burst; regardless of what the ‘John’ does, Phantom will do the following:

Seeing that his first volley of weapons fire didn’t eliminate his target, Phantom squeezes off three more rounds at Annie Pokley.

* If he manages to ‘take out’ Annie Pokley and the ‘John’ draws a weapon, Phantom will do the following:

As the ‘John’ pulls out his weapon, Phantom immediately trains his assault weapon on him and dumps three rounds into him as well.

* If he manages to ‘take out’ Annie Pokley and the ‘John’ tries to push passed Phantom and run of the room, Phantom will do the following:

( OOC: Assuming that the ‘john’ is a ‘0 level’ non-combatant ) As the ‘john’ tries to run passed Phantom, the remorseless gang-land hunter drives the butt of assault weapon into his gut and knocks him to ground.

> PHANTOM’S GOAL(S) <

Phantom is looking to take down the last of the Sons of James gang members still in the house, secure the building and then execute his exit strategy.

> PHANTOM’S OOC RESPONSE 2 <

Awesome issue, Tom! I actually didn’t expect to find anyone left upstairs . . . well . . . maybe a stereotypical head-villain type or something, but a hooker and a ‘john’? Nope – didn’t see that one coming – I figured they all would have fled the building once they heard all the weapons fire down on the lower level.

If you need me to expand upon what Phantom’s ‘exit strategy’ is in order to work it into this issue - just let me know. I already have a solid idea of how I think Phantom would like to see this all end.

By the way, I was looking at the map of the 2nd floor and the stairs seem to indicate that there’s some kind of 3rd level – is there a 3rd level or am I just seeing things?

Bonesnapper: Somebody call 9-1-1 - Issue 10

Bonesnapper arrived as the late show was nearing the end. Bonesnapper ran across the parking out. Out of the exit walked the movie patrons including Paul Anderson.

BaDaBaDABADaBada! Shots from a machine gun rang out, along with screams. Running to the theatre entrance he found Paul lying on the sidewalk, wounded.  The assailants speed away in a black sports car with no license plates.

Paul was still alive but would not be for long without assistance and the black sports car was half way across the parking lot. It was speeding toward the highway.

Realizing that he had little chance of catching the vehicle on foot, Bonesnapper tried to memorize as much of the license plate as he can see from here, along with a description of the car. He then turned his attention to the victim.

"Goddamnit," he muttered, checking Anderson's wounds. He snapped at a nearby civilian, "Call 9-1-1, tell them we have a man who has been shot! And to hurry!"

"Hold on, Paul. Help is coming. Stay with me."

Time stood still, so it seemed like forever before the EMTs arrived. As he tried to stop Paul’s bleeding, the intrepid reporter pushed something into Bonesnapper’s hand.  It was Paul’s key ring.  On it there was a car key, a house key, an office key, what looked like a gym locker key, and a key ring clip which held a 16gb flash memory card.

Sergeant Investigator Barry Carlton arrived with the EMTs.  Bonesnapper was glad he had removed his mask when had arrived at the Movie Theater. “Michael, what are you doing here? I was called in because of reported drive by shooting. Where is Paul …” S.I. Carlton finally recognized who’s hand Michael was holding.

The EMTs requested Michael to move back. Michael stepped to the side with S.I. Carlton as the EMTs attempted to save Paul’s life. Michael gave the description of the car and the drivers from best he could remember from both the office building and here at the Movie Theater.  He highlighted that the car did not have license plates. “Fools,” Barry spat, “cars without a license plate are easier to find than tracking down a specific plate”.  Barry radioed in the details.

As Barry talked with the dispatcher, Michael watched the EMTs load him into the vehicle to rush him to the hospital.  They told which emergency room they were taking him to.  They did not offer Michael much hope for recovery of the reporter.

Bonesnapper provided S.I. Carlton with the rest of the events leading up to the shooting.  S.I. Carlton with a grim look of determination stated he was going back to the offices.  He wanted to make sure the “Machete Killer” is brought in.  As he walked back to his car, he paused to talk with the dispatcher.  The driver of the getaway car was caught on 3 different red light cameras.  It is possible since the cameras were near a residual area that they might be hiding nearby. Barry gave Michael the location.

Does Michael investigate the key ring?
Drive to the location where the car was last seen?
Drive to the Hospital?

Bonesnapper: Loose Ends - Issue 9

The Bonesnapper defeated an assassin of C.R.I.M.E. Using the wiring from the telephones and computers he had come up with enough to tie the Machete Killer to a chair.

Bonesnapper moved to the front of the chair.

"So," he says casually, "you want to chat? You can talk to me, or the cops. Your choice”.

He stared you in the eyes and didn’t say a word.

Bonesnapper moved in close to his face. "You will talk, either to me, or down at the station. I'm inclined to think that I'll go a bit easier on you than the cops will."

The man snarled, “You or the police don’t scare me. Your friend will dead soon and then my partners will finish you.”

"Let's start with who are you? Who do you work for?"

“I am Machete Killer. I am an assassin for C.R.I.M.E.  We will be the death of you.”

"It seems to me," Bonesnapper responded, "That you won't be hurting anyone for quite some time, judging by the state of your hands. Unfortunately, you may be right about my "friend," so I've no more time to waste with you."

Making sure the makeshift ropes are secure, Bonesnapper left a quick note for the police and then headed off to catch up to the reporter, hopefully before C.R.I.M.E. did.

Archer: To be a Hero - Issue 10

FOOM! The Skycycle exploded in a ball of fire.  The Festival workers attempted to start a bucket brigade to put out the fire when a burst of wind hit everyone.  David was knocked down.  He watched as the large pavilion collapsed to the ground.

The steel man-mountain was back.  David sensed him inside.  There were a lot of other people in the collapsed pavilion as well but he can’t make out what was happening inside.

Suddenly the man he had seen earlier in the day ran across the top of the pavilion toward the people trapped under it.
Tommy ran up to David. He pointed out that the Festival workers are calling for help with putting the fire out.
“C’mon, David don’t you want to be a hero?” Tommy asked as he ran past.

“Tommy you head to the fire, I’m going to help these people under the collapsed pavilion. We’ll meet back up and both have a story to tell the girls at school.” David replied

Looking from the fiery grandstand and back to the collapsed pavilion hiding the mysterious man of steel, David can't tell if that guy in the fire was dead or not but at least he deserved a chance.  David quickly gathered any usable materials he can find for an impromptu rescue.

"Tommy, that guy on the flying motorcycle was still in there. Don't tell your mom about this. I'll never hear the end of it".

Focus David. Nothing but me and the path to the Knight. Nothing else is important. Nothing else exists.

David quickly gathered up the rope he used to rescue Katie, a blanket, and a screw driver.  He soaked the rope and blanket in water.  He found a metal pole.  Wrapping the blanket and rope to create a side pack like the ones used in the temple, David focused on the task at hand. He was going to pole vaulting over the fire.

David made sure of his grip.  All he saw was the fire before him.

He ran … hard!

He planted the pole against the wheel of a left behind car. It worked! The pole snapped him up and he leaped over the fire to land next to the Knight. [GM Note: Archer made 2 agility save throws. 1 for the pole to stick to create the vault. 2 for the leap over the fire and to land safely]

David removed his make shift pack.  He approached the Knight.  He was unconscious and the armor was hot to the touch.  David covered the armor with the soaked blanket.  Steam rose from beneath the blanked.  The armor was cool enough to touch now.  David gently moved the Knight to do a visual inspection for damage.  A waist section had been crushed and was restricting breathing.  David used the screw drive to bend the section enough for the CHESS Knight to breathe easier.

David heard the Knight sigh and breathe deeply.  There was a hint of pain in his breathing.

David knotted the rope around the Knight’s waist and underneath his arms.  David called for Tommy’s attention.  Tommy understood the directions provided.  Tommy gathered a few workers to help him pull the Knight through with the rope.

The Skycycle fuel had burned off so the fire was not as hot as when David leaped but it was still burning because of the grass and debris in the area.

David tried to toss the rope to Tommy but failed. [GM Note: Failed Agility roll]

“Nice try, but I think I inadvertently stopped you”

David knew there were 2 women and 1 man behind him on the ridge of the Festival but they had only been standing there so he had focused on more important things.

David turned to look at the speaker.

“Sorry,” The man continued, “I have been holding the fire back with my TK field. I can’t put it out because it isn’t airtight but I had been able to stop it from spreading.”

“You have already done the hard part. Let me handle this.”

The end of the rope started to float up. It slowly moved its way above the fire and a few additional feet as well.  It floated over the other side right into the hands of Tommy.  Tommy peered through the fire. “Cool! Telecom and the Valiants are here!  David that is Epsilon who is talking to you! Isn’t that so awesome!”

Epsilon nodded toward Tommy and gave a celebrity styled wave. “I need you to complete your rescue plan. I am stretched to my limit holding the fires in place and keeping the few remaining buildings from falling.”

“Telecom is on the trail of a gang of art thieves. That is what has brought us here. Something about ‘orbs that need to be hidden from the light’ is what she is trying to recover.”

“Serena is maxed out keeping the Festival goers calm and not panicking.”

[OOC]
Need a few clarification and detail of current events.

1) Is the cultist running across top of the collapsed pavilion is Agent America? (player knowledge, not character)
2) What is the proximity of the Dhole to the Festival grounds Tommy and David are in?
3) Is there any usable archery equipment in the immediate vicinity?
4) Does David see the Knight anywhere? If so is anyone assisting him or checking for life signs.
5) If David can’t see the Knight, what would it take to detect him with Spatial Awareness?
6) Given a worst case scenario, would using a Luck point set up a scenario where David might be able to rescue the Knight? If not that’s absolutely fine.

I have no real clue why, but I think I’m looking for an excuse not to have Archer and DarkStar meet. Ret-conning DarkStar has made me realize the illusions of grandeur I had concerning Archer’s ability to play in the Big Leagues. I suddenly realize just how out of their element Hawkeye or Green Arrow really were, and that’s with a quiver full of trick arrows.

I had a whole other ideal concerning evacuating the Festival grounds, but the Chess Knights ruining Adamas’s strategy threw that baby out with the bath water.

That being said, if saving the Knight from his fiery doom isn’t possible, which is cool, then I’ll write up a response based on where his Spatial Awareness say he can do the most good. I assume this will take him to the gentlemen trapped under the pavilion, in the vicinity of DarkStar (who will be collecting Orbs, unless Dr. Arcane suggest otherwise).

This should be interesting.
John R

PS: You know. Although he wasn't an innocent, and was using lethal weaponry at the time. Archer's accidental killing of Marlboro has put him on a path towards the light, were as if he had purposefully killed him, I think would have sent him toward the dark. Which all feels very strange, because I specifically remember thinking at the time that "they've chosen to use lethal weapons, what comes next is on their heads not his." Funny where different twist in the story will drive a character

Need a few clarification and detail of current events.

1) Is the cultist running across top of the collapsed pavilion is Agent America? (player knowledge, not character)
        Yes, it is Agent America

2) What is the proximity of the Dhole to the Festival grounds Tommy and David are in?
The Dhole is still in the river, which is about 100 to 150 feet away, now that Tommy and David are back up the here and at the Festival proper.

3) Is there any usable archery equipment in the immediate vicinity?
No, it was all washed away.

4) Does David see the Knight anywhere? If so is anyone assisting him or checking for life signs.
Yes, he sees an outline of the Knight (He is looking through the fire is why only an outline). He has been thrown from the crash.  The fire separates him from the Festival workers.  They are all trying to put out the fire.  No one has attempted to reach the Knight

5) If David can’t see the Knight, what would it take to detect him with Spatial Awareness?
While he can see the Knight, David could spend half his movement to focus his Spatial Awareness to 'see' the Knight clearly

6) Given a worst case scenario, would using a Luck point set up a scenario where David might be able to rescue the Knight? If not that’s absolutely fine.
David has three different skills which could be used to get around the fire: Mountaineering, Acrobatics, and Entrance/Escape depending on how he tries to get there.  Since David is already wet from rescuing Katie that reduce it from a Difficult (-4) to Challenging (-2) situation. He would have to make a save against the skill:  10 or less. You can use a luck point to overcome a bad save roll.

Okay then, looks like you've given me enough rope to hang myself with. If it's a choice between old guys under a tent and a hopefully not dead guy in a fire . . . well there is no choice is there?

<David: 2nd Reply> Looking from the fiery grandstand and back to the collapsed pavilion hiding the mysterious man of steel. I can't tell if that guy in the fire is dead or not but at least he deserves a chance.  David quickly gathers any usable materials he can find for an impromptu rescue "Tommy, that guy on the flying motorcycle is still in there. Don't tell your mom about this. I'll never hear the end of it".  Focus David. Nothing but me and the path to the Knight. Nothing else is important. Nothing else exist.

David's [Actions] will be focused on the attempt to get to and extract the CHESS Knight from the fiery grandstands. If distances allow he will crank up his Spatial Awareness as much as possible, as long as he has enough movement to get the Knight out of the fiery stands. He'll be using his first Action to gather any usable rescue materials and his second Action performing the actual rescue of the CHESS Knight, so he should be able to crank up the Spatial Awareness - or not.

[OOC] I'm picturing his skycycle crashed into a set of grandstands. I'm guessing they're metal and the fire is mostly fuel from the cycle - that means it shouldn't last long, but likely is hot as hell. I have a some ideals tell me if they have any merit.

I'm betting there just might be something he can proxy as a pole vault from the collapsed pavilion. If not, he'll try an acrobatic/gymnastic Vaulting technique using a car, fence or the shoulders of a festival worker (you get the ideal) to get to the CHESS Knight as quickly as possible. (funny thing here is, using V&V rules his leaping ability would make this a cinch - but might be a tad obvious he's a bit more than your standard student-athlete).

Also if there's any wet cloth materials in the vicinity he can use to cover the Knight with when he gets there he'll grab that also. He'll be using his Kun' Lun Yi' skills to keep from being distracted by the fire. Hopefully that can further reduce the challenging nature of the "Entrance/Escape" from the crashed grandstands. Speaking of escape that rope line used in pulling the young girl to safety might be of use extracting the Knight also. David's strength can be explained as an adrenaline boost due to the emergency, but it can't hurt to have some help from Tommy and the Festival workers just in case.

and yeah if after all this trying to tilt the odds in his favor, if it takes a Luck point to pull this off then I suppose this is as good a time as any.

Well . . . it's a plan
