Notes:

"“Mary…I’m so sorry.” The words seem to fumble from his mouth. “It’s stage 4. I don’t know how we missed it for so long.” He tries to hold back the tears, but when it’s your own daughter you’re breaking the news too that she has cancer, how could he not. Ten years to the day Marie Fairhart his wife died of breast cancer. Since that day Dr.Fairhart has spent every waking hour working with a team from Gen-Tek labs searching for a cure. Mary Fairhart was not your average girl. Excelling in sports throughout high school, she had a free ride anywhere. Mary took her mother’s death very hard. With a nearly perfect S.A.T. score and carrying a 4.0 grade average, Mary went to Harvard. She set her mind on Pre-Med. All her spare time she spent with her dad looking for a cure and on July 2, 2010 at 7:01 am, she found it, the day and time she felt the lump. That afternoon her father broke the news that indeed it is breast cancer. To see her face you would never know that she was just told she has 4 months to live. “Dad we don’t have much time. Make the call. I’ll meet you at lab 7 in an hour.” Her words: direct. Her voice: soft, yet firm. The last ten years of his life and the last 6 years of hers have come to this. Their research leads them to the realization that a synthetic compound known as Latarium maybe her only chance. Latarium was made in Gen-Tek labs 3 years ago. This new radioactive compound was not cost affective but it killed the cancer and seemed to heal the mice at a fantastic rate. The side effect to this, was radiation poisoning. After only 5 days of treatment the mice all died. With grant money and Latarium in short supply 4 months was not much time to save her life.” November 1, 2010 8:15am this has to be it. I’ve worked over 10 years on this Marie. I couldn’t save you but I will save Mary. “ Dr.Fairhart puts down the microphone and turns to his team. “Gentlemen if everything is ready you may now leave the lab.” After a few minutes of back and forth reluctant they left the lab. The Dr. let them know that if it worked, credit would be shared but if things went south, the blame would all be on him. He walks over to Mary and before he can say a word. “Dad whatever happens I love you.” He simply replies “I know” then kisses her on her forehead.  As Dr. Fairhart throws the switch, he knows something’s gone wrong. Bombarding the Latarium with x-rays turns the compound into a radioactive nocuous gas. He watches helplessly as his daughter inhales the fumes. He desperately tried to shut the machine down as his daughter’s vital signs go haywire. The cancer is dying but it seems so is she. The containment unit that holds Mary cannot be opened until all radiation levels are cleared, she’s trapped. Now in the final stages of treatment, the last bit of Latarium which is now focused as a beam of bright green light seems to engulf her.

Three Days Later: Mary awakes from an induced coma, after several hours of pleading with her father asking why is he wearing a radiation suit and why she’s still in the radiation containment room, he releases her and lets her see for herself. To her horror, she sees just a shape of her former self. The reflection in the mirror shows a translucent green figure, a living x-ray, as all she can see is the faint image of her skeletal form surrounded by a green translucent humanoid form. As you can imagine, the poor girl went into shock. It took several weeks for Mary to accept her fate, she is alive, cancer free, and realizes she’s been given a second chance. Within the next few months, her father has designed a protective suit so that Mary can now walk around without causing radiation poisoning to everyone she encounters. Within this time, they also discover that Mary has been endowed with super powers, Mary’s body emits radiation which when she focuses can be contained by sheer force of will. She can also emit powerful beams of radiation through her eyes and hands which she now calls her latarium blast. Finding that she can fly was nice and the ridiculous jump in her ability were all great but what makes her smile and keeps her going is when a simple accident where her father had cut himself revealed that Mary has the power to heal.  She calls this power the “gift of the fair at heart”.  This is in memory of her mother. At Mary’s request, her father has stopped trying to reverse the process. Mary sees this whole experience as her destiny.  With some stylish additions as a cape, breast plate, and multiple wigs, Mary Fairhart has decided it’s time to step up.  The world needs hero’s, she just hopes to one day be one of them. In many ways, Mary is gone and has given birth to “The Cure”.

Codename: Red Hawk: The Legacy of Freedom Eagle - Issue 1

Location: Department of Superpower Affairs – Megalopolis Offices

William Gaunt had a headache. Not your typical ‘can’t see because of the spots’ migraine headache.  This is the ‘return from death of Megalopolis’ greatest hero, Freedom Eagle’ headache. Fortunately he had gone to the New Super Society HQ thinking it was the Super Society he had been a member of.  Blitzkrieg had immediately contacted the DSA offices. The office lead quickly sent two agents to investigate and sent a code: Resurrection to Director Gaunt. Immediately media lock down was placed on the area.

He had special powers from the President to do this for 48 hours. The media couldn’t be kept in the dark forever but a 48 hour blackout was allowed.  It was a short time but enough to validate if this was the true Freedom Eagle returning or not.
The DSA technical staff and the last two people to see if Freedom Eagle alive were sent to the location.  When Freedom Eagle came into contact with Shatterman and Condor he recognized both of them.  This raised suspicion that this was a hoax. Freedom Eagle had never seen Shatterman in costume and wouldn’t know of the changes that Condor had made to Freedom Eagle’s old costume.  When Shatterman attempted to return Freedom Eagle’s powers back to him, he blacked out. When subject came to he no longer claimed to be Freedom Eagle but claimed to have no memory of its origin.

Further review determined that “He” wasn’t even biological but was an android facsimile. Unfortunately DSA has very little experience with Androids so he had to get external assistance in performing the evaluation.  StarCorp was contacted for assistance. The Director of DSA pickup the report and read it, again.

Technical Analysis of the Cortical Processing and Memory Functions of the A.I. known as “He”.

“He” appears to be suffering from the computer equivalent of a form of amnesia, as the result of some self-defense mechanism. “He” appears to have a form of retrograde amnesia, as “He” is able to retain new memories of events after the incident with the Super Society. His declarative memories have been totally lost. “He” seems to have almost no knowledge of his personal identity or knowledge skills prior to the incident. On the other hand his procedural memory seems to be fairly intact. “He” is capable of coherent speech, he can read and write, and seems to have a working knowledge of the abilities inherent to his android body.

While having suffered a number of physically traumatic effects, none of them appeared to have been to his memory storage unit. Accounts from individuals involved in the incident recall “He” suddenly becoming immobile and incoherent, once he was confronted by the arrival of two meta-humans referred to as Shatterman and Condor. Psychologically, this would tend to indicate the computer equivalent of a form of dissociative amnesia. In this case “He” appears to have repressed his original programming. It is unknown at this time if “He” can ever again access his old memories or they have been lost forever.

However, at this time as far as we can observe, “He”, unlike human patients who suffer from a dissociative memory disorder, appears to have developed no alternative personality. Or rather it is slow in developing and seems to require more time and input that a human brain would require. His condition is more strongly related to a type of retrograde amnesia. “He” had almost no answers during the AMI (Autobiographical Memory Interview) test.

This is such a unique circumstance and all analogies break down at some point when we try to anthropomorphize any new artificial intelligence with their human creators. That is when their creators are even human. At this point it is the opinion of StarCorp that the entity current known as “He” has no access to any memories or knowledge he may have had while impersonating Freedom Eagle. It is the further opinion of that he is no longer under the control of any outside influences and no more a danger to society than any other “normal” human with meta-human abilities and should be allowed to be released under the temporary supervision of Shatterman and Condor.

Gaunt did agree with the recommendation to have him under the supervision of Shatterman and Condor. The New Super Society showed no interest or time availability while Shatterman and Condor felt a bond to him.  Even though he wasn’t Freedom Eagle for more than one day they considered him apart of the Legacy.

Gaunt shook his head. He would never understand the mindset of the superhuman. Fortunately his job didn’t require it. All he needed was the ability to manage the community toward a beneficial role. So while the mystery of who created the Android was bothersome it was more important to give ‘him’ a purpose.

Gaunt thought it was best to align that purpose to include the change to search for an identity as well. He looked at the list of possible creators.

·         Dr. Bennet Morrow – He had the invention skills and the android could easily be a moment of inspiration that he let go play. He would think it was a great joke to create Freedom Eagle. Dr. Morrow’s handlers stated he hasn’t been working of anything of that size recently.
·         CyberDoom – The Android wouldn’t be much a leap from the Robots that he had ambushed the New Super Society with. Could he have created a convert operative to join the New Super Society as payback?
·         Motivator – She has the intelligence and the resources with her Black Legion but CHESS replied she has not been active in the States for a few years.
·         MEDUSA – Did the military create its first Android? Dr. Vlasov swore to him that they haven’t. All their agents still meet the definition of human. Which means each agent still has a living human brain. Gaunt wasn’t totally sure he believed Vlasov or not. It wouldn’t be the first time an agent left and MEDUSA denied the agent ever existed or was a part of their agency.
·         Professor Malevolence – There was no history on this person beyond today. He had contacted a Mayoral candidate this morning threatening him. Telling him to drop out or else.  The ‘or else’ turned out to be a miniature robot bomb which exploded under the candidate’s bandstand. He was not in it at the time. Except for a few minor injuries, no one was seriously hurt.

Gaunt considered the possibility that Professor Malevolence could have sent the faux Freedom Eagle to the New Super Society as a distraction while he set in motion plans to manipulate who would be the next Mayor of Megalopolis.

The Director called Shatterman into his office. He informed him about the attack made by Professor Malevolence. He requested Shatterman and Condor to investigate this situation and to take ‘he’ with them.

“Red Hawk”

Gaunt gave a confused look to Shatterman. Shatterman explained that ‘He’ had chosen the name of Red Hawk for his superhero identity.

Gaunt smiled and said, “So get him a DSA Superhero License with his name on it and take him with you.”

Phantom: On a Nearby and Seclude Rooftop - Issue 20

Location: Foundry near dawn

On a nearby and secluded rooftop Phantom shared with Ebony Angel what he knew about the Son of James gang, ‘Trickshot’ Alexander, Detective Hill and how Rico had fingered Hill as one of the Buzzard’s Moonlighters. In the true spirit of sharing information, she in return explained that the Buzzard was a dirty cop; but unfortunately she did not know which one, and that all of the Buzzard’s ‘Moonlighters’ were in fact dirty cops. She explained how she was attempting to gather evidence against the Buzzard for the murder of Brian Knight. Knight had witnessed the Buzzard performing a drug deal and was going to testify against him but didn’t live long enough to do so. The Buzzard runs half the drug scene in Megalopolis and uses his dirty cops to protect his markets. She recommended that Phantom check out The Champions Sports Bar. The bar is run on ‘the up and up’ and is a favorite hangout for the Monarch Boosters and is very ‘police friendly’. It would be a good place to pick up Detective Hill’s trail; and if he was interested in having a little back-up, she would meet him there in her civvies and wear a pair of halo earrings so that he would know who she was - If not, then good luck.

Phantom just stared blankly at Ebony Angel for a moment as he thought about her suggestion. He looked right through her as if he was weighing the measure of his soul against hers; the silence was deafening. He then looked away and stared down at the busy urban roadways below and said in a dark tone,” The cops will be all over that place once the fireworks start . . .” He then paused and dipped his head for a second as if he had just remembered something painful before he continued,”. . . I never took the time to think about where I was headed . . . never thought about the consequences that might come from the choices that I made.” His head then popped back up and his eyes seemed to scan the horizon of the night sky as if he were looking for something that was supposed to be there but wasn’t; Ebony Angel could almost feel the regret in his words as he continued, “I'll never forget that night . . . I can almost hear the screams of my wife and kids as the drugged out street trash swept through my house looking for stuff to steal. Why wasn’t I there . . . I should have been there . . . I could’ve stopped them . . . I could’ve protected them . . .”

Before Ebony Angel even had a chance to think of something comforting to say, she was interrupted by Phantom’s shadowy voice, “I’ve spent my entire life defending the world from the evil that lurks deep within men’s souls. I’ve done more killing then I care to remember . . . women . . . children . . . Hell I’ve killed just about everything that’s ever walked or crawled at one time or another, and I’m gonna do a lot more kill’n before my time in this world comes to an end.” His eyes then closed tightly as he paused for a moment as if to collect his thoughts; Ebony Angel realized she was hearing a confession and just stood there quietly and watched the ‘Alabaster Avatar of Death’ as he painfully sifted through some long forgotten memories. “It’s a hell of a thing kill’n a man . . . you take away all he’s got . . . and all he’s ever gonna have” he said in a sinister tone. His head then turned and his eyes fell squarely onto Ebony Angel’s face, “I’ve traveled too far down this road to ever turn back, but you . . . you . . . you still have a chance . . . you don’t have to end up like me . . . go home Angel . . . forget about all of this . . .” The ‘Ivory Emissary of Vengeance’ then stepped towards the edge of the rooftop and whispered loudly,”. . . this fight is mine.” Without warning Phantom then dropped from the side of the building; Ebony Angel gasped as she rushed to the roof’s edge to see if he was alright. Peering over the side she was sure that she would see the armor-clad vigilante lying dead in the alley below, but to her surprise see saw nothing – the Phantom had disappeared. With his ominous words still ringing soundly in her ears, Ebony Angel slowly turned and disappeared quietly into the comforting embrace of the night.

Phantom returned to his secret base to rest and change out his weapon selection. He needed something more appropriate to what he had in mind.

Phantom went to The Champions Sports Bar the next night and found a nice perch across the street from it on some dark and shadowy rooftop and waited for Detective Hill.

Champions Sorts Bar had a lot of business tonight. The owner Lawrence “Kaz” Kazpriviczs was serving drinks behind the bar. Waitress Wendy Brooks served the food with the drinks to the customers at the tables. When she brought a beer and burger to Father William Lonnigan he asked how her mother was doing. Wendy said she was okay. The new medicine appeared to be helping.

Father Lonnigan introduced the other man that was sitting with him. His name is Sam Jones. He was a reporter doing research on the ‘White Widow maker’ that had suddenly appeared in the Foundry. Sam said he was glad to meet Wendy. He wanted to know if she had seen this man. He showed her a police sketch of the vigilante that had attacked the Sons of James gang. Wendy looked at it for a moment. She asked if he dressed in all white.

The investigative reporter indicated that witnesses he had interviewed had said he was. Wendy said she thinks she may have seen him recently on a rooftop. He was hassling someone for information. She heard him claiming that it was his town now.

Wendy asked if Sam thought he was a new banger attempting to take over like Clayton Cooper had been reporting. Sam said he thought this killer was more of a vigilante than villain. He had arranged to meet with Detective Hill to find out if the Megalopolis police agree with him or with Clayton.

Father Lonnigan wondered if it may be just a case of a lost soul that was attempting to find redemption in vengeance instead of forgiveness. He laughed at the looks Wendy and Sam gave him. “I am not saying that vengeance and retribution does not have a place in the world. It is that retribution is a means to achieve societal balance. It is a task to be done reluctantly and with a defined purpose.”

Wendy gave Father Lonnigan a thin smile while muttering she had other customers to serve as she left the table. Sam turned to look at the front door to see Detective Hill enter the Champions Sports Bar.

> PHANTOM’S GOAL(S) <

Phantom is/was hoping to convince Ebony Angel to stay out of his way and to stay away from The Champions Sports Bar ( Skill check maybe??? ). He also wants to head back to his secret hide-out and prepare ( changes weapons and equipment, refresh ammo, etc. ) for a stake out of The Champions Sports Bar tomorrow night.

> PHANTOM’S OOC RESPONSE <

Phantom is going to head to The Champions Sports Bar the next night and find a nice perch across the street from it on some dark and shadowy rooftop and wait for Detective Hill.

He’s going to change weapons – I’m sure grabbing a cop right out of a ‘cop bar’ filled with other cops is going to turn into a hot pile OMG in the blink of an eye – but he has no intentions of hurting the other cops in the bar. He’s going to use as much non-lethal force as possible.

Here’s his ‘weapons of choice’ list for his this insane hunting trip:

( 1x ) Mossberg 590A1 Combat Shotgun: +2 To Hit, shell type = Damage, shell type = Range, holds 9 shells ( eight shells in the magazine plus one chambered ). The Mossberg 590A1 is a pump-action shotgun designed exclusively for military use.

*NOTE: Phantom currently has this weapon loaded with Flexible Baton Rounds – see below.

( 2x ) FN Five-Seven Pistol: +3 to hit, 1d8 damage, Ax6 range, 20 rounds per magazine, capable of automatic fire. Phantom equips his with an under-barrel tactical flashlight.

( 4x ) ABC-M7A2 Tear-Gas Grenade: +2 to hit, no damage, weight = 1lb., 4” blast radius ( tear-gas cloud dissipates after 10 turns ). The grenade automatically affects everyone within its blast radius that is not prepared to encounter its effects ( i.e. already holding their breath or wearing a gas mask / self contained breathing apparatus ). Any character holding their breath before this grenade goes off or entering a preexisting tear-gas cloud receives a +4 to their initial Saving Throw roll. Wearing some form of gas mask or self contained breathing apparatus allows the character to remain immune to the weapons Special Effects while they are in the tear-gas cloud. While in the tear-gas cloud any character not prepared or protected as previous described must roll a Saving Throw on d20 vs. Endurance.

A failed Saving Throw means that the character falls to the ground and is incapacitated. The character can then make a Saving Throw on d20 vs. Endurance between turns to overcome this incapacitated state. Once they have made this Save, the character behaves as if they are Fatigued, is +2 to be hit and -2 to hit, and treats the tear-gas cloud as if it were Darkness Control.

If the character was successful with their initial Saving Throw roll then that character behaves as if they are Fatigued, is +2 to be hit and -2 to hit, and treats the tear-gas cloud as if it were Darkness Control.

Without medical assistance, the Special Effects of the tear-gas cloud generated by this grenade lasts from 30 – 60 minutes ( 1d4+2 x 10 minutes ).

( 1x ) Gerber Mark II Combat Knife: +2 to hit, HTH+1d3 damage, A” Range.

( 18x ) Flexible Baton Round: The Flexible Baton Round; also known by its more popular nickname ‘The Bean Bag Round’, consists of a small fabric ‘pillow’ filled with #9 lead shot. The round; which is designed to be non-penetrating, is intended to temporarily disable or stun a target without causing permanent physical injuries or killing them. Any character hit with one of these rounds must roll a Saving Throw on d20 vs. Endurance.

A failed Saving Throw means that the character falls to the ground and is incapacitated. The character can then make a Saving Throw on d20 vs. Endurance between turns to overcome this incapacitated state. Once they have made this Save, the character behaves as if they are Fatigued, and is +2 to be hit and -2 to hit. The character can then make a Saving Throw on d20 vs. Endurance between turns to overcome this Fatigued state.

If the character was successful with their initial Saving Throw roll then that character behaves as if Fatigued, and is +2 to be hit and -2 to hit. The character can make a Saving Throw on d20 vs. Endurance between turns to overcome this Fatigued state.

Aside from the Special Effects of the round as described above, this shotgun round only does 1d2 Damage and only has an effective Range of A/2".

*NOTE: Phantom currently has nine of these rounds loaded into his shotgun.

( 1x ) M50 Joint Service General Purpose Mask: The M50 is the most comfortable, compact, and light weight NBC ( nuclear, biological and chemical ) protective mask currently available. The M50 allows for a wide field of view with a single lens that spans the width of the face. This protective mask provides 24 hours continuous eye and respiratory protection in all NBC environments.

( 4x ) Extra Magazine: 20 round magazine for an FN Five-Seven Pistol.

My sincere apologies once again for the lateness of this response Tom – I seriously thought I had typed all of this out already for some reason. I’ll do my best to respond to each issue within a day or two of it coming out to avoid this mix-up in the future.

So you know – I added three Brand New items to Phantom’s weapon’s list – the Mossberg 590A1, the Flexible Baton Round and the ABC-M7A2 Tear-Gas Grenade – let me know what you think of them

I'll send you a revised and updated weapons list asap.

The Wraith: What would Manta Man do? - Issue 20

Location: Megalopolis PD Crusher Crimewave Task Force HQ

Manta Lad reviewed the maps of Crusader Citadel in detail {See Issue 16 ~ ed.}. As Starbolt pointed out that the top level with its multiple entry ways would provide the best access, Manta Lad realized where the Crushers were holding the Crusaders.

“They’re in the Infirmary!”

With TEACHER and the Infirmary on the lowest level, Manta Lad didn't like invading Crusader Citadel from the roof. It was too far to go. But Manta Lad remembered that Black Orchid invented a stealth chemical that would provide the wearer with Invisibility. "How about we land on the roof, invisible, and enter through the northeast stairwell, near the telescope. Maybe my access card still works. We go straight down to Level 1.  We totally take the Infirmary (yes!) and free the Crusaders! Then we go across the hall and take the Computer Center, free TEACHER and get him to activate the building's security defenses and stuff! Whaddayou think?" he said to all the grownups.

Level 5
·         O Observatory
o    Telescope
o    Miniaturized radio-telescope

Starbolt told the group "Look I'm on board with however you wish to approach the situation. I just think that they will be expecting us to attack. So I would be willing to attack from one direction to draw their attention to myself and away from whoever will be infiltrating. If it gets too hairy I can fly away and get some of them to chase after me. If that doesn't sound like a good idea, I am willing to go along with what the group wants to do."

The rest of the group was silent.

Detective Broyko asked to talk with Manta Lad in his office and Dr. Morrow wanted to discuss the stealth chemical with Black Orchid.

In Det. Broyko’s office, He opened his desk drawer and pulled out one of those quit smoking gums and started chewing it with more vigor than was required. He looked up at Manta Lad. “I understand your desire to save Manta Man and the rest of the Crusaders. I know they are important to you but would Manta Man want you to put rescuing him above capturing the Crushers? In this situation what would Manta Man do?

Please think about it and send Starbolt in here please”.

Manta Lad left and Starbolt entered the Task Force Leader’s office. Det Broyko placed a hand on his shoulder, “Son, I really like you but you need to stop thinking of yourself as a sacrificial lamb. Manta Lad looks up to you and he needs your guidance. Do you really think the kid has the experience to lead this group?”

“This team needs a leader and from where I sit it is either your or Black Orchid. She has the intelligence and willpower but you have the strength and charisma.”

“I agree with you that they know there is a new set of heroes in the game but if you want a diversion don’t split your team. I would be glad to supply our SWAT team to attempt to bash in the front doors, if you would only ask.”

<Starbolt reply? Does he talk with Black Orchid?>

In the Task Office Crime Lab Dr. Morrow reviewed Black Orchid’s chemical. Dr. Morrow smiled in appreciation of its simple design. “So the chemical would provide what I call ‘Standard Invisibility’ but the wearer’s body heat and sweat will cause it to break down.  Minimum exertion on a person with typical endurance would provide about ½ to 1 minute of use. Over exertion would cause the chemical to become unstable making the wearer visible.”

“In your situation there will be more than minimum exertion but the heroes would have higher than typical endurance to balance this out. Most of your team can flight right? I wouldn’t recommend a flyer carrying a non flyer to the roof. Too much exertion, hopefully you have a teammate that has a portal or teleportation power that could ferry the non flyers to the roof. I would also recommend not applying the stealth chemical until you are at the Citadel. Maybe hiding on a different roof top or in an unmarked van until it is time”

<Black Orchid reply? Is there a teammate that can get her to the roof?>

Officer Perkins had returned from his medical checkup. Fortunately he had survived the ambush with only a few scratches and bruises. He picked up his ‘Top Cop’ coffee cup his son had given him for his birthday and strolled into the main conference room of the Task Force HQ. He noticed one of the heroes keeping to the shadows. From this direction, it almost made him invisible. Officer Perkins walked to the shadowy hero but stopped a few feet from of him. “I want to thank you for helping us with the Crushers Crimewave. We wouldn’t have been able to protect Dr. Morrow without you.”

“I found out you weren’t at Manning Enterprises break in. I was wondering if you might have been one the ones who save me from the ‘Garbage Man’. That is what the press has dubbed him. They sure do come up with some corny names don’t they. Well anyway, if you were there then thanks. I meant what I said about not checking for Superheroes Licenses, you are a superhero in my book.  Situations like this have allowed Vigilantes to get their Superhero License and come in from out of the cold. You should consider that.”

<The Wraith reply?>

Midnight Bug found an empty hallway to use his cell phone to check his message service. He had 3 messages from potential clients wanting to meet to discuss the availability of his services and he had a message from his client at Emersion Electronics. He wanted an update on the progress for tracking down and capturing Centurion. It was of vital importance they get their stolen power suit back.

<Midnight Bug reply?>

As Emerald Dragon stood in the conference room waiting for the team to make a decision he noticed someone was watching him. He turned to face the person. It was the Megalopolis PD chopper pilot who had flown them yesterday. He had two cups of coffee in his hand. One of the cups was made of porcelain but the other one looked like a steel military issue cup. He held out the steel cup. “Would you like a drink? I didn’t know your strength level, so I used one of the cups we keep on hand for when Volcano Man visits.  He sometimes misjudges the strength of his grip. These keep clean up to a minimum.”

After taking a few drinks, the pilot looked at Emerald Dragon without flinching. “I am so jealous of you and your ability to fly. The Chopper is as close as I can get to it. I bet it is nothing like what you get to experience. I would give anything to be able to fly that way.”

<Emerald Dragon rely?>

A few minutes later Det Broyko called the heroes and the task force members into the main conference room. “Okay we have less than an hour until sunset. We need to decide on a plan, what the objective is, and who will be going in which ways. In short what is your plan of attack.”

Detective Broyko slowly chewed his gum as he looked from Starbolt to Black Orchid and back again as he waited for a response.

Thanks Tom! Nice for me that The Black Orchid got a big role in this one!

Manta Lad:

With TEACHER and the Infirmary on the lowest level, Manta Lad didn't like invading Crusader Citadel from the roof. Too far to go. But the invisibility chemical would help.

[If the Endurance Saving Throw is made on a d20, then he says...]
A: "Howabout we land on the roof, invisible, and enter through the northeast stairwell, near the telescope. Maybe my access card still works. We go straight down to Level 1.  [go to C]

[If the Endurance Saving Throw is made on a d100, then he says...]
B: "Howabout we fly over the roof and blast the telescope while we're invisible. Like, get the Crusher creeps all distracted and stuff,  investigating the roof while we swoop down and BAM! smash through the big window on the northeast corner of Level 1? [go to C]

C: "We totally take the Infirmary (yes!) and free the Crusaders! Then we go across the hall and take the Computer Center, free TEACHER and get him to activate the building's security defenses and stuff! Whaddayou think?" he said to all the grownups.

Starbolt

Starbolt tells the group "Look I'm on board with however you wish to approach the situation.

OOC: Starbolt considers himself a team player and won't argue about the consensus on how to rescue The Crusaders, since that is the primary goal. He will not be onboard to do something that is too risky for civilian casualties.

Thanks,
Jamey (Hawk/Starbolt)

Crusade: What would Manta Man do? - Issue 17
