Quest: Meet the Team - Issue 53

Location: Hidden Tomb of Cor on Easter Island

CX opened the hidden door and moved back into the Dome with the rest of the Guardians.

They looked down a 35 foot hallway leading to another room.

"Well ... It's not exactly a Looking Glass. Are we ready for this?" Red Hawk said.

Adamas nodded and produced the key he had obtained; he was prepared to begin their journey.

They cautiously traveled to the end of the hallway wary of another attack but there wasn’t any.

The room appeared to be a carpeted in a deep brown shag... but closer inspection revealed that the ‘carpet’ was in fact a layer of tiny squirming live maggots. On the south wall was painted a picture of a large wooden door, but the keyhole to this door is real.

Adamas flew across the room. When he came to the painted door he looked to his left. There was a hall leading to Cor’s Tomb which was choked with human skeletons and hieroglyphics. Thunderhead flew next to Adamas. The ancient archeologist read the long forgotten writing. The hieroglyphics warned trespassers to turn back or be forever cursed.

The key Adamas had taken from the room with Jacco fit the lock. The door opened to reveal a glowing energy field. As the door opened a voice spoke in each player’s mind, asking “What doest thou seek?”

What entered the Guardians’ minds next was displayed to them through the portal. Each Guardian saw only their own image. No one knew what or could see what the others were seeing.

"What doest thou seek?"

Adamas had a flashback of his family.  His daughter on a swing set, his wife standing in a doorway, and then darkness.  He then saw Jessica's face... could he be happy again?  Can he save her world, as he couldn't his own?  That is what he seeks.

Adamas stepped through the portal into the Domain.

"What doest thou seek?"

The image of Freedom Eagle fluttered like a leaf on the wind through Chris's mind. But he knew Earth's ancient protector had been slain years ago by one named the Spyder. The image shimmered and Freedom Eagle was fighting beside new heroes in a battle against CyberDoom. When the battle was one Freedom Eagle landed beside his companions and pulled his mask back revealing the image of Chris Eagle. The new Freedom Eagle.

Red Hawk nodded an admission of his own aspirations. Shaking them from his remembering the lessons Brian and Dennis had taught him ... To be true to himself. To carve his own legacy.

Chris slipped through the energy field following Adamas into the Devil's Domain.

Staring at the portal, Rick' s thoughts wandered to how his family was doing. Is everyone safe? Will the team be able to put a halt to this menace? Is he up to the task at hand? Stepping forward into the portal on one side with the team, and arriving on the other side to his home, he was back in Megalopolis.

Centurion X thought about his family and his company. A lot of people depended on him. He had changed for them. How could he abandon them, how could he not be true to his new life? He couldn’t. He flew through the portal into his mansion in Megalopolis.

Black Orchid focused on the mission at hand. To save the Earth from the Domain, she stepped through the portal into the Domain.

When asked what it was that he wanted, the eternal child didn't hesitate. He wished to return home, from whence he came before he had been summoned against his will to Earth by the selfish, greedy sorcerer named Pietor.  "Farewell, Guardians," Jack said. "I'm sure we'll meet again. After all, I'm immortal! “

Jack thought about Lord Noman and the other evil sorcerers he had met since then. What about the Domain? Wasn’t that a world of sorcery?

"Hmm. On second thought. Maybe I'll stick around a little longer!" said Jack. He floated through the portal into the Domain.

When asked what it was that he wanted, the avatar of archaeology didn't hesitate. Nomad had brought him to the future to defeat Jacco and locate the Domain Gate. He had accomplished this mission, and lived! Clark wished to return back to his own time. There, he would go to Easter Island and explore the historic wonders of Cor's Tomb! "Goodbye, heroes of this incredible future," said the hero of yesteryear. "Perhaps we too, will meet again! I hope so!"

Thunderhead stepped through the Domain Gate to return to the same location he has left but in 1932.

{FLASH BACK to Quest Issue 27}

Agent America arrived at the Crystal Castle disguised as Ion.

He was escorted in by Occult’s troops. They look like mutated chickens. He informed the Captain of her Guard that Lord Noman had sent him with a special message that only he could deliver to her. The Captain nodded in understanding and escorted him to … the dungeon.

He was forcefully thrown into a cell. The Captain informed him that he would let Occult know of his presence and his message. She will send for him at her convenience.  An hour later a figure with a hood appeared at the cell door. It watched Agent America for a few minutes then morphed into an exact duplicate of Ion. It walked away.

“That was a Changeling. I am guessing that Occult is setting a trap for Lord Noman or whoever he sends after you”.  Agent America had noticed the huddled figure in chains before but didn’t acknowledge his presence in order to keep up his disguise. Now with this change of events he wasn’t sure if it mattered. It appeared the Tarot Masters were as unwelcomed as his team was.

The Agent in Disguise recognized the other prisoner. It was Nomad. The former Man from MEDUSA knew his file. Nomad was meta who claimed he was from another dimension and was Earth’s self-proclaimed dimensional protector. “Was it possible that Nomad was a Geonesian?” Agent America thought.

As Agent America studied the cell for weaknesses Nomad tried to convince him to leave the Tarot Masters and join his Resistance team. Once he escaped from the Castle he would reach across the dimensions to recruit a team to bring Cr’tegorf down.

The Super-Secret Agent did not agree to join the resistance but agreed that escape made sense. Agent America freed Nomad from his shackles. He knew how to escape the cell he told Nomad, they just needed to wait for the right time. Over powering the guards outside their cell wouldn’t be hard but they need to make sure they didn’t have to fight the entire castle in their escape.

Their chance came quickly. The guards left when sounds of battle were heard throughout the Crystal Castle. They were able to make their escape from the dungeon without incident. Nomad and Agent America did encounter Domain Demons in the Castle proper. Forced to fight their way out eliminated all hope of Agent America joining his teammates in freeing Donnah.

Agent America explained to Nomad that he wasn’t a Tarot Master. He was sent with a team by Dr. Avery. The Man from Medusa suggested they hurry to where the return portal was so he could rejoin his team. Nomad agreed.

Agent America and Nomad arrived at The Team’s portal location to find the portal closed and the team gone. Nomad was too weak to open a portal himself. There was not enough time for them to attempt to contact Dr. Avery and have him open another portal as the predators of the Domain were closing on the location quickly.

Barely escaping into the wilderness of the Domain the two heroes team-up for the time being. Nomad explained the purpose of the structures at the end of the rivers. They were the receivers of the Matter Vacuum Towers that Cr’tegorf would place into other dimensions. The Towers would transfer that world’s energy to the Domain providing Cr’tegorf the power he needed to open his portals into those worlds to send his conquering troops and even when enough power is unleashed a bridge will be built that will allow him to cross over.

As they investigated the Matter Vacuum Tower they saw three figures fall into the domain before the destruction of the connection between the structure and the Tower. Nomad and the Super-Secret Agent raced to the rescue of the three individuals but were not able to get there before they were captured.

Agent America saw the captured Earth heroes were Meganaut from the Super Forces, Blitzkrieg from the New Super Society and Telecom. They were taken to Cr’tegorf’s Castle.

They decided Agent America would rescue the captured heroes and Nomad would recruit more heroes

Nomad worked quickly to gather heroes from different dimensional plans to fight in the resistance. Agent America did not return with the captives. The Domain demons were on watch for dimensional openings so it was not possible to bring more than one hero from a single location but a small band of carefully pick heroes would do until it was time to summon the rest of Earth’s heroes, but Nomad would need someone special to lead them the Earth’s heroes through an alternate way, the Domain Gate.

{FLASH BACK to Megalopolis Crossover Issue 9}

Nomad entered a dark and gloomy cave. Standing in front of him is an archeologist. It wasn’t any archeologist but the world famous Clark Powers. The archeologist was focused on ancient hieroglyphics and didn’t notice the dimensional portal opening behind him but he did hear the footsteps. Clark tensed preparing to roll with any attack made against him.

“I can tell you all you want to know about that language you are reading. It is not of this world but of another Dimensional location called the Domain. The Demons of the Domain have attempted to conquer your world multiple times throughout history. They have aligned with people of your world. Cruel people like Jacco.”

“The future needs you. I don’t know what the opposite of archeology is but how would you like to see the future?”

“The year 2013 to be specific.”

“The Demons are trying to build a Matter Vacuum which will convert all of the Earth’s matter to energy in the Domain. It will give them enough power to invade multiple worlds in your Dimension.”

“I need you as one of Earth’s first super powered heroes to take a band on heroes to the Domain Gate. You will be facing forces aligned with Jacco. You will have to defeat him again.”

“Will you help?”

Nomad handed Clark two devices. “These will allow you to find our home base in the Domain.”

As he motioned for Clark to enter the Portal, “Find Adamas, Elwood, Harvey, and the rest of the Guardians. Tell them Agent America sent you.”

Through that portal walked a single man, Clark Powers, the superhero known as Thunderhead.

{FLASH BACK to Quest Issue 52}

StrikeForce had returned from the lab in Our Fair City to his home. The retired Fire House was within the same city only a few miles from the lab. When he entered the living area after parking his car he tenses. Something wasn't right.

What sound was that he heard? It was breathing.

He doesn't see anyone. With his Thermal Imager he saw someone sitting on his couch relaxing.

Jason maintained his distance, and looked toward the couch and said. "I don't remember inviting you in, and I don't think that you knocked. I would like it if you would tell me what you want."

The figure on the couch turned visible to the normal human spectrum for sight. "Knock and wait to be invited in? With Zombies outside attacking everyone in sight?"

Jason looked at the man in confusion.

The man said, "Oh, right ... I am not of that Earth. This is the one where the Zombies were only in England with Shroud. Sorry about that. I have been to the ‘Earth destroyed by the Domain’, ‘Earth conquered by the Domain’, and ‘Earth resisted the Domain but unleashed a Zombie Apocalypse while doing it’ Dimension all this week."

"Sorry for the confusion. Should I go outside and knock? Or can we skip that formality by getting straight to the point."

"Earth needs you to come with me to the Domain to stop their final invasion."

StrikeForce knew about the previous invasions across the world but he thought they had been defeated in England by the Guardians, Crusaders, Indestructibles, The Crimson Guard, and other heroes.

"I normally don't stand on formalities," said Jason. "But, I think introducing yourself would be proper. Also, how you found me would be appreciated."

The smile disappeared from his face, "Who am I? You don't know me?" With the smile returning he said, "Oh, I get it. It's a test. Everyone knows Megalopolis' Dimensional Guardian."

"I am Nomad," he produced his interdimensional library card, handing it to StrikeForce.

Taking Nomad's card, StrikeForce examined it closely before handing it back. "Pleased to meet you Nomad, I'm.... well, you already know that." he replied.

Nomad said, "How I found you? That is harder to explain. Your creation is part of a chain of events leading up to a significant nexus crisis. A nexus crisis is an event which is so significant that it occurs in all parallel Earth Dimensions. I had lunch with alternate you but he wasn't able to help us. That Dimension having a severe lack of electronics. Once I meet him I was able to trace you using the interdimensional library catalog indexing system. You have to learn the Dewey Decadecimal System but once learned researching across dimensions isn't that tough."

StrikeForce replied, "Well, since it seems to be a much longer explanation, we can table the discussion of parallel Earth Dimensions and nexus crisis’ until a later time. But it does sound interesting."

Nomad said, "Why don't you pack a backpack or duffle bag with supplies, while we talk?

StrikeForce put his suit on

Jason asked his visitor, "Who else is making this trip with us? I can't see it just being us?"

“We will be meeting the other Cross Dimensional Earth Heroes that I have gathered. We have a base camp in the Domain. I have a cohort named Thunderhead who is bringing the Guardians to us."

StrikeForce packed food and water, and a case of equipment he would need to affect repairs upon himself inside a backpack. Grabbing his cell phone, he called his father and told him, "I am heading out of town on a "Business Excursion” that we had discussed. I'll call you when I get back, I don't think the cell service will be too good. Love you Dad, Talk to you later."

Dressed and ready to go StrikeForce felt a slight moment of trepidation, but steeled his resolve and entered the portal with Nomad.

At the base camp he left him to meet the other heroes. "I have to go meet the Guardians and bring them to us. Please wait here. The other heroes are out but will return soon. They know you will be here waiting for them."

After arriving at the base camp, he replied to Nomad "Sure, no problem."

{Current Issue of Quest}

When the Guardians arrived they were near the location that Adamas had been the last time he had been there.

Two of the Plasma Rivers were flowing but the third was a dry dirt bed.

Adamas floated up until he can clearly see a "safe" area around the team, and use his enhanced vision to ensure there was no danger in close proximity.  He'll follow Red Hawk's lead.  Moving into the Domain felt a bit like coming home to him.

Once through on the other side, Red Hawk followed Adamas in the air and asked "Do you know where to find your friend Agent America. Is it possible he has been gone so long he has been compromised? The red ball and blue energy column would seem an important objective but no doubt it is best to be briefed by those who have been fighting the fight on this side of the veil."

Nomad turned visible, greeting the heroes.

He welcomed them and was glad they had joined them. He said would lead them to his base camp and the others. As they travel he explained how the Domain was different from Earth.

“The Domain’s atmosphere has the following effects on entities from Earth’s dimension. It is more draining to move and use your powers. It does have stronger recuperate effects so you heal quicker than normal.”

{GM Note: In game terms: All actions cost +2 power points over and above its normal costs. Normal healing takes place every hour instead of once per day. Adaptation will negate both the positive and negative effects of the atmosphere}

Nomad said. “The Domain’s gravity is 1.89 Gs, which is 1.89 times Earth’s gravity.”

{GM Note: There might be slight modifications to Agility, Carrying Capacity, and HtH. I will check the additional weight to see if adds an Agility modifier. I will check the additional weight against the table not your PC’s total weight. The additional weight will not be put into the formulas so it will not increase Carrying Capacity but will be considered permanent use of Carrying Capacity while the Domain thereby lowing the amount of Carrying Capacity available for use. This might lower your HtH. I will provide the exact details whenever we get into combat.}

Nomad said, “The soil and rocks in the Domain are composed of diamond hard crystal and the native flora share these characteristics.”

“There are predators everywhere. There are not predators and prey in the Domain, only predators.” Nomad skillfully led the team to the base camp without incident.

{GM Note: All Guardians have recovered their Hit Points and Power Points thanks to the healing power of the Domain}

Nomad waved to StrikeForce, “I guess I am the first one back. I have returned with the Guardians.”

Seeing the other heroes arriving, StrikeForce looked to determine if he recognized any of them. He introduced himself. "Hello, my name is StrikeForce, pleased to meet you." He walked upright in a military manner, and extended his hand to whomever he meets.

First, Strike Force shook hands with Adamas. StrikeForce knew of the Alien Powerhouse who fought to protect Refuge Islands from a giant demon slug. He could fly, shoot beam of energy from his eyes, super strong, and skin as hard as diamonds.

Next he met Red Hawk. StrikeForce had read about the android posing as Freedom Eagle as it tried to join the Super Society. The Super Society exposed him as a fraud and freed it from its programming. The last he had heard the android was trying to make it as a superhero called Red Hawk. It had flight powers and heightened senses.

Black Orchid was introduced next. StrikeForce had not heard or read about her before

Jack Frost was next. StrikeForce couldn’t believe the myth of his childhood was floating before him. He wondered what parts of the myth were true and which weren’t. Besides the power of flight which he was now observing, he figured that controlling snow & ice and his being immortal had to be at least true.

The Guardians and StrikeForce felt the ground shift. They looked around as they shifted into defensive postures to try to figure what was happening. Nomad stood nonchalantly, “About time the rest of them returned”

From the ground emerge a form. It changed shape from a pool of dirt and grime into the crude form of a man.

Nomad said, “This is Crude. He is from what I call Indyverse Dimension of your Earth. I have started naming them so I can keep them straight. Saying their Dewey Decadecimal System number is such a pain and hard to remember. He was fighting World War II when the Domain was trying to align with the Nazis.”

Crude said, “Howdy, I sure hope there aren’t any Krackens here. Nasty things and their breath reek terribly. Worse than my Grandpappy back from a 3 day bender of moonshine and jerky.”

”No luck Nomad, I ain’t able to tunnel under the coral. We will need to travel through it”

Adamas saw a flock of Dravens flying toward them. He recognized the intelligent birds by their red eyes. It was what separated them from the Earthly raven. Adamas noticed something wrong. One of the avian wasn’t a Draven but looked like an American eagle. The bird flew away from the flock toward the base. The eagle landed next to Nomad. It transformed into a man.

Nomad said, “This is Menagerie from the Jarkaverse.”

Menagerie said, “I have given the Draven the crystal. It is taking it to the castle as we speak. It appears that multiple dimensions believe Earth is an easy target. It is time to teach this one the errors of that thought process.”

The team heard a skittering in the crystal grass. It moved fast and low as it traveled closer.

Nomad said, “Come on out Serpent. The Guardians are here.”

Out of the grass stood an alien, Adamas recognized it as Logrellian, the alien race that was now living on Pluto.

Serpent said, “About time, I have been monitoring the patrols in the coral. I believe I can lead us past them but we need to go. They change their patterns regularly.”

From the other side of the base another voice was heard, “I know time is of the essence but we can’t rush ahead. That is how fatal mistakes are made. Hello, I am Cougar.” He shook hands with those that were willing. “I am not sure if Nomad has named the rest of the Dimensions the rest of us are from. He has traveled to so many I think even he gets confused.” Cougar gave a wink to Jack and Black Orchid.

I have tried my best to follow Agent America’s scent. The best I can tell he is in Cr’tgerof’s Castle. I found the site where the patrol captured him. I follow their tracks and smell to the edge of the coral”

Down from the sky flew a man in gleaming armor. Nomad said, “Ah Conquistador how did you fair?”

“There is still no way to fly over the coral. It is quite persistent in not allowing it. I can’t negotiate any kind of passage.”

“It appears we will have to walk through it.” Conquistador greeted the Guardians and StrikeForce.

The last two to arrive had been training nearby. They introduced themselves to the newcomers.

A voice said, “I am Night Wraith. I don’t understand why Nomad selected me. I am more of an urban hunter, not country bumpkin. I will still do the best that I can.” As he shook hands, he didn’t walk around to each person. He stretched his arm to them. He easily stretched his arm to 10 feet away. It obvious he could have stretched further if needed.

Nomad said with a sigh, “I told you Night Wraith, your skills are needed in the castle. Dark, damp, and lots of towers, just your kind of place.”

“Yeah, but what about me, you bring me to a place without Satellites, no internet, no A.I.s. Only the most basic of electronics work here. It is like being in the 1980s again.”

Nomad said, “This is the Machinist from the Dominicverse. You know you can make it work. Your visor might be useless but you still have abilities.”

As Noman spoke, the Machinist stared at Red Hawk. As he slowly walked toward the android, the metal pieces on his suit floated into the air. In mid air they assembled themselves into a rudimentary scanner. As he looked at through the scanner he said, “I understand how the other one is still functioning. Bionics will still work even if the nanites can’t function to make repairs or adjustments. But how in the name of Turing are you working!” The Machinist examined Red Hawk as he waited for an answer.

{Location: Castle of Cr’tgerof}

Agent America dressed in his room. He knew that the clothe he wore would take whatever appearance he wanted. That was how magic worked in the Domain.

He finished dressing and walked slowly to the banquet room. He examined the hallways for any changes. He had long since memorized it. He was here as a guest of Cr’tgerof. It has been a never ending battle of wills. The Demon Lord trying to turn him to his side, attempting to manipulate his emotions to break his will. It was very similar to how Cult Leaders gained control of their flocks.

The Man from Medusa knew that if he stayed long enough he would eventually break but there was too much to learn before then. He had to gather as much intelligence as he could before his time was up.

Three of Cr’tgerof’s lieutenants were already in the hall. Observing the place setting, the Super-Spy knew he and Cr’tgerof were the only ones joining the meal.

Agent America saw the Overseer looking out the window. This was the Demon in charge of the Matter Vacuum Towers and the construction of the Portal to allow the Lord of the Domain to enter Earth. His failures on Earth, two Towers being destroy had turned him desperate. The Overseer was looking for any advantage he could find to regain favor.

Was this something Agent America could use to his advantage?

Standing near the fireplace was a Horror. In his time in the Domain, Agent America had learned to be able to tell the different species of demons apart. From the Horror came the shape shifters like the one he had seen in Occult’s Castle.

This Horror was smoking Cuban cigar and wearing an Armani Suit. Obviously this Horror had been to Earth and recently. Could the Domain be the reason for all the myths that permeate from Hallowed Hills?

Was it possible this was the head of the Domain’s spy network that had placed both Guardians and Spies on Earth?

The last was an Abomination Prince. They were the warlords of the Demon Lord’s armies. He would know the troop movements and what they were doing to prepare for the final invasion. It appeared to be leering at the Overseer as if its failures were putting the Prince’s efforts at risk as well.

{GM Note; Please provide dialogue to any conversation you want to continue, if you have questions or needing a response please send before the deadline and I will respond before the issue so we can get as complete a conversation in the next issue.

If I don’t get much in questions or discussion, I will have the team start their journey through the Coral  to the Castle. If you want to go somewhere else first please let me know.}

If you have time we can roleplay the 3 characters to setup next turn. Now is the time to cut down to fewer characters. You are doing so well with multiple I am tempted to let you keep 2 but I am not sure you would want to even if you could.

So what does Jack Frost desire most? Is the Domain his next thought or it is the his Frozen home that Pietor made him leave.

What does Thunderhead desire most? Is the Domain, Is it to search Cor's Tomb?

What about Agent America. When he approached the Castle of Occult he was dressed as Ion. Occult didn't see through the disguise. The Tarot Masters weren't welcome and he was thrown into the dungeon because of that . Occult and Lord Noman are competing Lieutenants to the Master of the Domain. Agent America could easily escape or he could wait until the Master sent for him.

I see two different events occurring

1) I am envisioning a James Bond situation with Cr’tgerof, if you like. Agent America is captured but has free reign of Cr'tgerof's Castle as he attempts to learn secret. What secrets is trying to learn?

2) Agent America could have escaped during the battle at the Castle but wasn't able to catch up with the Guardians before they left. He survived until he joined Nomad's Resistance team. He is waiting in the base camp for the Guardians.

Which one do you prefer?

Thanks

Wow.

Will have to ponder this one! It's like Sophie's Choice!

Agent America. Option 1, please!  :)

Thanks for everything.

Hey guys

Sorry I have been a bit incommunicative the last month or so work responsibilities I really piled up. Good news bad news is I just finished my management training.  Bad news is I've been assigned to a store almost an hour and a half from where I live. Hopefully this will all allow me to finally refinance repair and sell my house and enable me to move closer to work and friends I have developed in Indianapolis.

Hey Tom
My brain has been overloaded the past month or so during management training so I haven't had a lot of time to think about the character.  what do you think about developing Redhawks vibrational power into a carrier tech with his hand to hand or do something like decrease the power requirements for his vibrational powers.  For some reason I don't have an updated character sheet for Redhawk or even the picture of the new uniform you made for him. If there is something that might bring him closer to achieving his goal of fulfilling his role of legacy to the Freedom Eagle maybe that would be a direction to go also?

Thanks for everything

OOC: Can we put the level of advancement on hold until I can come up with something definitive?

Hi all,

Sorry for the "me too" but I've been a little out of the loop as well. I had to prep for a gaming convention over Labor Day weekend and I am in the process of getting a new job so I'm trying to finish up everything where am I am currently. I'll try to get something out today.

Marc
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the best use of the Level Advancement would be to Reduce the Vibration Blast from PR 5 to PR 2, all other uses of Vibration still costs the same.

While the carrier attack is a nice bonus the PR of 5 would be too draining. Maybe next level advancement after the PR reduction.

Tom

Yes, you can always hold a level advancement until later.

Thomas,

OOC: I like the critical tables, we used to have something like this back in the day for D&D, for V&V, just always played it by ear. I pulled up Adamas character sheet, as I hadn't looked at it in quite some time.  I thought I had paid off his lack of Invulnerability to Magic at some point... I found an email on it from back in Oct.  2012. :)  (Wow, have we been playing that long?)  If I'm off, let me know, or I can forward it.

A couple of thoughts about level advancement... for his level 5 advancement,  I'd like to buy off or reduce his Weakness/Vulnerability... maybe spending time in the Domain has some side effect to that end...  for level six,  I'd also like to develop some kind of "area attack".  I know way back, Adamas did a slam into the ground, and caused a cave in, (causing more harm than good... may have been a critical fail?)  maybe something like that, or a Hulk type hand clap... I don't know.  I realize he has his autofire blast, but looking for something where he can at least knock a few henchmen down at one time... not as damaging as a HTH attack, but to hit several close opponents at once.

Something funny I noticed going through our character sheets... for the team strong man, the only member on the team with less HP than Adamas is Jack Frost... kind of Ironic.  He does have his Invulnerability, but I was a little surprised.

"What doest though seek?" had a Ghost Buster flashback on that one... Stay Puff Marshmallow Man anyone? I'll respond to you separately just to you on that one... Let me know if you wanted us to reply to all.

IC: Adamas does not hesitate to enter the portal.  He greets Nomad and awaits the rest of the team on the other side, ensuring everyone makes it through OK, "I have not had the pleasure", as he offers his hand. " How does Agent America fare?"

Adamas will float up until he can clearly see a "safe" area around the team, and use his enhanced vision to ensure there is no danger in close proximity.  He'll follow Red Hawk's lead.  Moving into the Domain feels a bit like coming home to him.

"What doest thou seek?"

IC: Adamas has a flashback of his family.  His daughter on a swing set, his wife standing in a doorway, and then darkness.  He then sees Jessica's face... could he be happy again?  Can he save her world, as he couldn't his own?  That is what he seeks.

Hi all, I apologize for my radio silence at times, but I do want continue if everyone is happy with me and The Black Orchid!

The tables are nice and straightforward.
One quick thought, for the ranged fumble, instead of "1 more PP", should it be "Take 1 PP" since they might be using a bow or some device that doesn't use power.

You are right Adamas did buy off the weakness to Magic. I will think of a type of power you are asking. While I do that tell what you think of ramping up his Super Breath as the basis for it.

Thanks
Tom

Glad to have you stay. I really like Black Orchid.

Thanks on the suggestion, I will clean it up.

You probably already did much of the mechanical leg work for an area attack on one of DarkStar's power effects for his strength. Should give you a start for customizing Adamas ;)

Thanks, looks right. I had envisioned the area attack using strength, but breath could work...

OOC: I intend to continue playing, as long as the group doesn't mind. Starbolt will save his advancement.

Staring at the portal, Rick' s thoughts wander to how his family is doing. Is everyone safe? Will the team be able to put a halt to this menace? Is he up to the task at hand? Stepping forward into the portal on one side with the team, and arriving on the other side to ............

OOC: Another great issue, Tom!

IC:

Jack Frost:
When asked what it was that he wanted, the eternal child didn't hesitate. He wished to return home, from whence he came before he had been summoned against his will to Earth by the selfish, greedy sorcerer named Pietor.  "Farewell, Guardians," Jack said. "I'm sure we'll meet again. After all, I'm immortal! “

"Hmm. On second thought. Maybe I'll stick around a little longer!" says Jack.

Thunderhead:
When asked what it was that he wanted, the avatar of archaeology didn't hesitate. Nomad had brought him to the future to defeat Jacco and locate the Domain Gate. He had accomplished this mission, and lived! Clark wished to return back to his own time. There, he would go to Easter Island and explore the historic wonders of Cor's Tomb! "Goodbye, heroes of this incredible future," said the hero of yesteryear. "Perhaps we too, will meet again! I hope so!"

Strikeforce has returned from the lab in Our Fair City to his home. The retired Fire House is within the same city only a few miles from the lab. When he enters the living area after parking his car he tenses. Something isn't right.

What sound is that he hears? It is breathing.

He doesn't see anyone. Which his Thermal Imager he sees someone sitting on his couch relaxing.

What do you do?
Tom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason maintains his distance, and looks toward the couch and says. "I don't remember inviting you in, and I don't think that you knocked. I would like it if you would tell me what you want."

OOC: Jason will be ready to move and counter attack if the figure makes an aggressive move.

Jamey
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The figure on the couch turns visible to the normal human spectrum for sight. "Knock or be invited in? With Zombies outside attacking everyone in sight?"

"Oh, right ... I am not of that Earth. This one the Zombies were only in England with Shroud. Sorry about that. I have been to the Earth destroy by the Domain, Earth conquered by the Domain, and Earth resisted the Domain but unleashed a Zombie Apocalypse while doing it Dimensions all this week."

"Sorry for the confusion. Should I go outside and knock?"

"Or can we skip that formality by getting straight to the point."

"Earth needs you to come with me to the Domain to stop their final invasion."

Strikeforce knew about the previous invasions across the world but he thought they had been defeated in England by the Guardians, Crusaders, Indestructibles, The Crimson Guard, and other heroes.

<How do you respond>

"I normally don't stand on formalities," says Jason. "but, I think introducing yourself would be proper. Also, how you found me would be appreciated."

OOC: Jason will keep his guard up to ensure this guy isn't a distraction for someone else to attack. If he feels that this guy is on the level, he will agree to go with him. If it is possible Tom, he will carry some tools to make repairs upon himself if necessary.

If he decides to go, StrikeForce will suit up and ask his visitor, "Who else is making this trip with us? I can't see it just being us?"

Jamey
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The smile disappeared from his face, "Who am I? You don't know me?" With the smile returning he said, "Oh, I get it. It's a test. Everyone knows Megalopolis' Dimensional Guardian."

"I am Nomad," he produced his interdimensional library card, handing it to Strikeforce.

"How I found you? That is harder to explain. Your creation is part of a chain of events leading up to a significant nexus crisis. A nexus crisis is an event which is so significant that it occurs in all parallel Earth Dimensions. I had lunch with alternate you but he wasn't able to help us. That Dimension having a severe lack of electronics. Once I meet him I was able to trace you using the interdimensional library catalog indexing system. You have to learn the Deuey Decadecimal System but once learned researching across dimensions isn't that tough."

"If you don't have any more questions why don't you pack a backpack or duffle bag with supplies. We will be meeting the other Cross Dimensional Earth Heroes that I have gathered. We have a base camp  in the Domain. I have a cohort named Thunderhead who is bringing the Guardians with him."

Nomad will wait until Strikeforce is ready. He will open a dimensional portal for both of them to travel through. At the base camp he will leave him with the other heroes. "I have to go meet the Guardians and bring them to us. Please wait here."

How do you introduce yourself to the other Heroes. I will introduce the Cross Dimensional Earth Heroes in the next issue with your introduction.

Tom
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Taking Nomad's card, StrikeForce will examine it closely before handing it back. "Pleased to meet you Nomad, I'm.... well, you already know that." he replies.

"Well, since it seems to be a much longer explanation, we can table the discussion of parallel Earth Dimensions and nexus crisis'  until a later time. But it does sound interesting."

StrikeForce will pack food and water, and a case of equipment he would need to affect repairs upon himself inside a backpack. Grabbing his cell phone, he will call his father and tell him, "I am heading out of town on a "business Excursion " that we had discussed. I'll call you when i get back, I don't think the cell service will be too good. Love you Dad, Talk to you later."

Dressed and ready to go StikeForce feels a slight moment of trepidation, but steels his resolve and enters the portal with Nomad.

After arriving at the base camp, he will reply to nomad "Sure, no problem."

Seeing the other heroes that are assembled, he will look at those present and determine if he recognizes any of them. Names, abilities, and whatever else he knows. If noone has come to him, he will walk around to the other heroes and introduce himself. "Hello, My name is StrikeForce, pleased to meet you." He walks upright in a military manner, and extends his hand to whomever he meets.

OOC: Keeping his guard up he will attempt to scan the area to determine what information he can collect. "Better safe than sorry." He thinks to himself.
