The Wraith: Uproot - Issue 10

The Wraith was fighting the Warlord of the Shamrocks street gang. It occurred in the Shillelagh’s greenhouse. The contest had been a standoff so far as it opponent attempted to determine the strengths and defenses of their adversary.

Had one determined how to best attack the other, yet?

“Clearly, I'm fighting in her environment,” David thought to himself, observing the shapely outline in the telekinetically created whirlwind of broken glass and leaves.  “Let's uproot her and see how she blossoms without all this foliage around.”

David teleported right behind her.  He reached to grab her in a sleeper hold.  Glass whipped across his arms and hands.  He was shocked by the pain and was unable to set the hold.

[GM Note: Rolled a 20 on grab attack; Glass 6 damage points, -4 to Power Points and -2 to Hits]

Shillelagh attempted to strike The Wraith with the shillelagh in her hand but was unable to twist into a position to strike.

The Wraith set the sleeper hold on Shillelagh and teleported to the roof of a building a half mile away.

On the roof, Shillelagh twisted and kicked attempting to break the hold but wasn’t able to. “Let meh go!” she yelled.

[GM Note: To break the sleeper hold Shillelagh did a strength roll against The Wraith: HtH vs HtH.  She rolled a 2 and he rolled a 4.  The Wraith can use his TK to increase his HtH dice but you have to tell me he is saving movement for that and how much movement is being saved.

I added Wrestling to The Wraith’s character sheet, so he would not suffer a -4 penalty in the grab attempt for the sleeper hold.  I was thinking that David could have been on his High School Wrestling team and that is where the skill came from but it is up to you.  If you want to change it to another fighting style which includes chokes and holds please let me know.]

Current Conditions:

IC:  Clearly, I'm fighting in her environment, David thinks to himself, observing the shapely outline in the telekinetically created whirlwind of broken glass and leaves.  Let's uproot her and see how she blossoms without all this foliage around.

OOC:  David's plan is to teleport right behind her and grab her in a sleeper hold, bringing her in as close as possible to him.  He figures he may take a little damage from whipping vines, but hopefully not too much since they'll be so close.  It may take until next round, but his next action will be to teleport them both to a nearby rooftop--where she'll have no plants to work with.  Heaven knows what other powers she may have up those green sleeves, but that's the plan, anyway.

Patrolling the streets,
