Quest: Interloper - Adamas Special Issue - Issue 43

Location: Hidden Tomb on Easter Island

Adamas lead the team into the hallway. He could hear that the darkness of the tomb was slowing the other down as they walked single file. He decided to get into the hallway to see if his Ethereal vision improved. He would then wait for the team.

When Adamas entered the corridor he saw it was lined with ancient hieroglyphics. The walls, ceiling and floor were all entirely covered. He could not read them and didn’t spend any time trying to.

Adamas moved down the corridor. He positioned himself to try to see ahead and check behind. He saw that CX was behind him. He wasn’t sure if Black Orchid was or wasn’t. His Ethereal Vision couldn’t see her when she was invisible.

He looked ahead where the corridor had another hallway. He saw it lead to another room. He could see human shaped bodies but he couldn’t tell if they were human or alive. The stone and earth must have a strong lead content. He was having a difficult seeing clearly.

{GM Note: here is Adamas’ Ethereal Vision view of what is ahead}

Adamas reached for the amulet that has become second nature... only to realize he left it with Donna.

Ever the mother hen, Adamas ensured everyone is in the tunnels, awaiting the others to catch up before moving through the room with the hieroglyphs.

He saw that Thunderhead and Jack Frost joined the others in the corridor. Thunderhead stopped to read the hieroglyphs.

Ten thousand years ago a race of men journeyed here from a faraway planet. The trip took many generations. There was a colony here on Easter Island, but when the travelers arrived they found that it had been destroyed by Earthly creatures. The new people erected the great stone heads in honor of the previous colony, and they built their own magnificent city around them. For hundreds of years they prospered, and grew proficient in the occult arts. Their king in those days was named Cor, and he begged the wizards to stop their dealings with the demons from beyond. But they did not, and finally they called forth a great demon which consumed their whole city. Then King Cor fought the demon and slew it, saving a handful of his subjects. He himself did not survive the battle. A secret tomb was build for him, guarded by undead spirits and cursed by the vengeful demons.

Adamas heard Redhawk’s dual vibe blasts smashing stone. While he couldn’t hear voices coming from the other room it was good to know that loud sounds could still be heard from faraway.

Adamas said, "I see figures up ahead, but I can't tell if they are alive or statues...
