Crusade: Issue 76 - Liftoff!

Location: Destroyers Headquarters.

[16]       Annihilator fired a power blast at Blizzard. The blast past harmlessly through Blizzard’s body as he was vibrating so fast to make him noncorporeal.

[13]       Adamas smiled, "Well if that's the best you've got, this won't take long.  What do you say we take this outside?"

Adamas planned to grab Behemoth and fly him through a nearby window/wall.  His end goal was to do a pile driver with Behemoth into the ground.

            Adamas flew back around and toward Behemoth. The Alien Powerhouse grabbed his foe around the waist, lifting him off the ground. They flew down the hallway toward the wall

            {GM Note: Adamas needed to roll 14 or less. He rolled a 1. His second roll was a 20, so he successfully grappled his opponent, but it wasn’t critical success}

            Adamas struck the reenforced exterior wall of the Destroyer’s HQ. He hadn’t built up enough speed to break through. The wall cracked and Behemoth grunted from being slammed into the wall.

            {GM Note: 12 points of damage was taken by Adamas from hitting the wall. His Invulnerability reduce by 4, Adamas rolled with the damage, -3 PP}

Behemoth and Adamas bounced off the wall hitting the exterior wall to the south of them.

            {GM Note: I could had ended the turn at this point with next turn having Adamas attack the wall again. That was very fun to me, and it was very spectacular. There was the situation that Adamas had 1,440 inches of Flight at the start of the turn and had only used 130 of it including what was used on the wall. While Mighty Protectors is a significant improvement from prior editions on the movement rules for normal movement. A character having additional movement either from Flight or Speed is usually wasted. As a GM I am still trying to figure out how to deal with this situation. For this instance, I don’t want to stop the turn here and next turn be another attempt to break through the wall. I know in game terms each turn is supposed to be 10 seconds, so it is not too extreme for a character to spend 20- or 30-seconds ramming through a wall but that isn’t very fun for the player or the GM. So, in this situation I decided to have Adamas bounce of the wall and continue until all his movement is used up or his goal of knocking out Behemoth happens first.}

            Adamas hadn’t built up enough speed to break through the southern wall. The wall cracked and Behemoth grunted from being slammed into the wall.

            {GM Note: 11 points of damage was taken by Adamas from hitting the wall. His Invulnerability reduce by 4, Adamas rolled with the damage, -2 PP}

Behemoth and Adamas bounced off the wall hitting the interior wall to the north of them. They broke through into the room. Behemoth grunted as they flew across the room.

            {GM Note: 9 points of damage was taken by Adamas from hitting the wall. His Invulnerability reduce by 4, Adamas rolled with the damage, -2 PP}

            Adamas and Behemoth smashed thorough the wall on the other side of room into the kitchen area. Behemoth groaned from the impact.

            {GM Note: 9 points of damage was taken by Adamas from hitting the wall. His Invulnerability reduce by 4, Adamas rolled with the damage, -2 PP}

            Adamas and Behemoth flew across the kitchen, bursting out of the opposite side wall into the stairway. Behemoth cried out in pain.

            {GM Note: 11 points of damage was taken by Adamas from hitting the wall. His Invulnerability reduce by 4, Adamas rolled with the damage, -2 PP}

            Adams and Behemoth bounced against the stairway wall and back into the room they had come from. Behemoth had been incapacitated from the wild ride Adamas had taken him on.

[12]       Iron Maiden completed preflight check and had started the engines. She had the Gyro-Jet revved its engines to prepare for vertical takeoff.

[10]       Chrysalis attacked Rubicon with her poison darts. The darts hit him

            Rubicon’s body fought off the effects of the poison

            {GM Note: Rubicon rolled with the save check using 6 Power Points. He needed a 17 or less, the rolled a 15. He passed his Endurance save. For visuals I am referencing multiple darts but it is one attack with a single save, it is not a multi-attack.}

            Chrysalis fired poison darts at Rubicon from her other wrist. The darts hit him.

Rubicon’s body fought of the effects of the poison

            {GM Note: Rubicon rolled with the save check using 6 Power Points. He needed a 17 or less, the rolled a 15 again. He passed his Endurance save.}

            Chrysalis ran out of the room and down the hallway to the stairway. She entered the stairway and went to the next floor up.

[  9]       Annihilator fired a power blast at the giant Roc, the current form of Dr. Wildman. The blast hit.

            Dr. Wildman squawked in pain, but he was still able to fight

            {GM Note: Dr. Wildman took 13 damage points. He rolled with 7 points of damage; -7 PP. Dr. Wildman took 6 points of damage to his hit points. In his giant size he rolled a 14 for mass. He was not knocked back.}

[  7]       Annihilator fired a power blast at the giant Roc. The blast missed.

[  7]       Hearing the sound of Jet engines firing up, StrikeForce realized that The Destroyers, or at least some of them are attempting an escape. "Looks like each of the Destroyers here has a dance partner, so it should be o.k. for me to see if I can stop the take off." Breaking out into a full run, The Bionic Brawler pushed himself, while hoping that he makes it there in time.  When he was within range of the Destroyers escape craft, StrikeForce attempted to take control of it.

            StrikeForce successfully linked up with the fuel pump. He instructed it to shut down. To stop pumping fuel. The fuel pump resisted his commands and continued pumping.

            {GM Note: StrikeForce had to roll a 14 or less to hit. He rolled a 14. The fuel pump needed a 12 or less for its save roll. It rolled an 11. It doesn’t follow StrikeForce’s commands. StrikeForce only spent 2.5 CPs on this ability. It is weak with -2 to the BC save. For a typical gear its Basic Characteristic Save target starts at 14. Gear can’t improve its chances by spending power points so a -6 to -10 would be very effective. Anything less than -6 the gear would have 50/50 chance or better of making the save}

[  6]       With the release of StrikeForce by Shapeshifter and being summarily dragged away by M.I.S.H.A., Rubicon said, "Ya! We've finally found a rubber toy worthy of your time M.I.S.H.A."

<<EXCITEMENT>>

Shapeshifter flattened and oozed her body to escape from M.I.S.H.A.’s hold on her.

            {GM Note: This is using the 4.11.2 Escape rules instead of Break Free. Escape uses Agility save to a task test where Break Free uses a Strength save for the task test. Shapeshifter needed a 10 to escape, she rolled an 8}

            Rubicon attempted to stop her from running out of the room but her stretching abilities made it too difficult for him to stop her.

            {GM Note: Shapeshifter made her Agility save to get through Rubicon’s Zone of Control. She needed a 12, rolled a 9}

            Shapeshifter ran down the floor, upstairs, toward the hanger where the other Destroyers were waiting for her.

[  5]       Ratman ran toward the hanger. As he ran down the hallway, he tried to leap past StrikeForce. StrikeForce used his Escrima to stop him.

            {GM Note: Ratman needed a 13 to get past StrikeForce’s Zone of Control. He rolled a 19}

            Ratman struck at the Bionic Brawler with his tail. Ratman hit with a Whiplash strike sending a paralyzing jolt through StrikeForce’s body. He was struck unconscious.

            {GM Note: StrikeForce is low on Power Points. He was only able to roll with 1 power point to add 1 to his Save target. StrikeForce needed a 6, he rolled a 7. He failed. Ratman’s paralysis attack renders its victim unconscious.}

[  5]       Iron Maiden called on the comms, “Hurry up! I can’t wait all day for you. If you don’t get here in the 10 seconds or less, I am leaving without you.”

            {GM Note: Iron Maiden held her action and movement}

[  5]       Dreamweaver fired a TK bolt at Annihilator. She missed.

            {GM Note: Dreamweaver need an 8. She rolled a 20 and 13. That is a Critical Failure. She rolled a 15, Lost Opportunity. She has lost the rest of her turn}

[  5]       Ignoring the sound of jet engines to focus on the more immediate situation, Patty charged into the room, and after a quick assessment decided to go after Chrysalis. She pushed herself as she chased down her target through the hallways.

"Try me on for size, bug lady."

Patty attempted her paralytic poison attack on Chrysalis, hoping it can get through her armor. It did!

            {GM Note: Patty Plus needed a 9 to hit, rolled a 3. Chrysalis’ armor did provide protection. Its value is used to increase the save target. Rolling with the Save and the Armor, Chrysalis needed target number was 10, she rolled an 18.}

            Chrysalis fell to the ground paralyzed.

[  4]       The giant mythical avian creature had plucked the 'copter from its disastrous spiraling descent and had laid its broken frame in front of the hangar doors. The tiny figures of Blizzard and Dreamweaver leapt from the broken vehicle. Perched upon the remains of the copter the Roc stretched its neck to peer into the hangar from where the roar of jet engines could be heard. The hoist obscured most of his view, but the roar of the engines felt like the challenge of another giant predator. The Roc screeched back in a counter challenge with a deafening squark that caused its neck to vibrate.

The awesome arcane avian swept back its wings and started to beat them vigorously until it created such a powerful draft that it began to catch the remains of the smashed copter. Such was the power in its wing beats that the copter parts were sent flying towards the unseen roars of the jet hidden in the hangar.

            The helicopter debris harmlessly bounced off the Gyro-Jet’s armor.

            {GM Note: Dr. Wildman needed a 19 to hit, rolled a 5. The vehicle’s armor was higher than the damage points rolled from the debris}

[  4]       Blizzard fired a vibe blast at Annihilator. The vibe blast missed.

            {GM Note: Blizzard needed an 8 to hit, rolled a 9}

[  3]       Ratman ran down the hallway, around the corner, and into the hanger.

[  3]       <<HUNGER>>

Rubicon nodded in agreement as the two of them ran out of the room in pursuit of their Prey. On the next floor they past Patty Plus and a paralyzed Chrysalis. They rounded a hallway corner to see Shapeshifter ahead of them. They both slid to a stop.

Rubicon raised his head up, his eyes rolling back into his head and starting to glow the same color as M.I.S.H.A.

<<!>>

<<Syncing....>>

Demy can sense M.I.S.H.A.'s desire (?) to tear into Shapeshifter. Realizing her pliability, he redirected the urgent Ursa to adjust its stance.

As a result, M.I.S.H.A. shifted from preparing to lunge onto her to aiming the plasma canon at her. MISHA fired a round into Shapeshifter. The blast hit her knocking her 5 feet forward. Shapeshifter landed on the floor incapacitated.

{GM Note: Blast did 8 points of damage. After Shapeshifter rolled with most of it, enough remained to reduce her Hit Points to zero. She is incapacitated.}

[  2]       Erdbeben stopped in the stairwell to catch his breath. "I'll have to remember to thank Adamas for distracting Behemoth to allow me to escape" he thought briefly to himself.

His thoughts were quickly drowned out by the sound of the jet engines firing up somewhere close. Too close if he had to judge for himself. "That's probably the rest of the Destroyers trying to make a getaway."

Not knowing what else to do he continued up the stairs to the next floor looking for the source of the engines.

Unfortunately, he didn't give Adamas and Behemoth another thought, thinking that Adamas would be able to handle the Behemoth monster on his own given that he was a seasoned member of the team and had dealt with this kind of thing before.

            Erdbeben ran past both Patty Plus and the paralyzed Chrysalis. He ran past both Rubicon and M.I.S.H.A. He jumped over the incapacitated Shapeshifter. At the end of the hallway, Erdbeben found StrikeForce on the floor unconscious.

            {GM Note: This is as far as Erdbeben can go with his movement. He used it all to get here. He never saw Ratman during his turn.}

[  2]       The Black Orchid shook her head groggily and sat up. "How did he hit me twice without me being able to do anything? Am I that slow?" she thought to herself. "Rats are known for enjoying the dark. Let's see how a man-sized rat feels." The Black Orchid ran upstairs to hopefully deal with the plane.

Black Orchid ran past both Patty Plus and the paralyzed Chrysalis. Patty Plus stared at the visible Super Scientist. Black Orchid ran past both Rubicon and M.I.S.H.A. They both stared at the visible the Bishop from CHESS. Black Orchid ran down the hallway unaware that she had forgotten to turn invisible again.

            {GM Note: This is as far as Black Orchid can go with her movement. She used it all to get here. She never saw Ratman during his turn.}

[  1]       Iron Maiden flew the Gyro-Jet toward hanger opening in the ceiling. Normally the Destroyers would use the hoist to lift the Gyro-Jet to the roof, but they were in a hurry. She can’t control it. The Gyro-Jet hit the roof barely damaging its wing. The roof cracked causing Dreamweaver to fall through the hanger opening to the floor below.

{GM Note: She needed a 14 to not fall through the hanger opening with the Gyro-Jet hitting the roof, she rolled a 16}

[  0]       Dreamweaver fell to the floor below. She used her telekinesis field to cushion her landing, she landed on her feet.

            {GM Note: She needed a 14 to not fall, she rolled an 18}

[  0]       StrikeForce was still unconscious on the floor

{GM Note: He needed a 2 to wake up, she rolled a 5}

[  0]       Chrysalis was still paralyzed on the floor

{GM Note: She needed a 5 to free herself, she rolled a 10}

Tom: Excited for the new issue, really glad to see it! Happy to have made it to issue 75 of The New Crusaders, now onward and upward, to issue 100! Really

Enjoying the cover!

I need time to think of my next move.

Greg: Thanks to Rubicon and M.I.S.H.A. for the save! StrikeForce will be owing Demy a beer when this is over. If he is still standing when we are through.

All: I hope that we haven't gotten in over our heads with the Destroyers.

Thanks,

Jamey

--------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: Tom, excellent as always. I used to get a regular comic every Saturday when I was a kid, mainly Avengers & FF reprints for the UK market. I have the same nostalgic anticipation for every next issue of the New Crusaders.

Just want to check that I have all the pieces added up and come to the right conclusion: are the jet engines most of us can hear are from a jet powered vehicle in the hanger that Dr Wildman has placed the helicopter in front of? If so, what does Dr Wildman see through the eyes of the Roc?

Not sure how conversational you are happy with us being OOC but what do people think of The Eternals? Best not do spoilers yet if some haven't seen it yet. It is epic in scale...as my daughter said - "well, where do we go from here?"

Steve

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Steve,

Thanks for bringing that up regarding the jet engines. If there is some getaway plan the Destroyers are executing, assuming it's theirs. My sense is they are getting whatever vehicle is available ready for departure, corrupt/delete/destroy their hard drives, and defend as they make their way out, or at least some of them.

As for the Eternals, my son and I caught it this last weekend and Rady to discuss if and when appropriate.

Greg

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am perfectly fine with OOC none gaming emails. I won't include them at the end of the issue where I put all the emails for that turn.

I am behind on movies, so I haven't seen Eternals yet.

Tom

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

are the jet engines most of us can hear are from a jet powered vehicle in the hanger that Dr Wildman has placed the helicopter in front of? Yes

If so, what does Dr Wildman see through the eyes of the Roc? He is the Roc, right? This is not mind control but shape change, correct?

I rolled a perception test for Dr. Wildman. He needed to roll a 12 or less. He rolled a 16. Even if a +3 for being Super Sized was added to the 12, the 16 failed the test. From where Dr Wildman is on the roof he can't see the vehicle within the hanger. The Hanger Hoist is blocking his view.

Thanks

Tom

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Tom, so apologies for being a bit cheeky but according to the character sheet in Roc form Dr Wildman has a +6 bonus due to his telescopic vision. That should make it 18 or less to see. Is that right?

Steve

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

No need to apologize, it is a good question. Okay, I had to pull out the rule book. Here are the rules with the type of sight and bonus that Dr Wildman is getting:  Telescopic Sense magnifies vision giving the character a +6 task bonus vs. range penalties on all checks involving sight. This perception test didn't have any range penalties applied. It was a matter of the Roc being able to see past the damaged helicopter, hanger doors, hanger hoist, and any other obstacles that would prevent him from seeing what type of Jet it was, what is happening, and maybe who was piloting and co-piloting it.

I always step back after applying the rules for a sanity check, to ask if this still makes sense for the character and the game. I don't ask in the real world because this is a comic book, so that doesn't apply. The reason the Roc has the Hgt Sense; Telescopic vision is because of his size. He has a profile of x4. So, any attack that is against an average height person (6') next to him would already be at a range of 4 Inches. It is the number of squares times the profile of Roc divided by profile of target (1X4/1). This means that anything 2 hexes or further away the Roc would start suffering range penalties. I didn't like how that works in the game. It would basically calculate to:

2 squares -1 to hit

3 squares -2 to hit

4 or 5 squares -3 to hit.

The Hgt Sense was added to offset this size penalty which without it would make playing the Roc less fun, not more fun.

So, for this test, I decided that the Hgt Sense offset any range penalties from the Roc being super-sized in a tiny world and doesn't provide any bonuses to see within the hanger. If he had other senses that allow him to see through objects or light on a different spectrum then those senses definitely would have provided a bonus to his perception test.

On your turn you can use an action to attempt the test again as well as move to create a better line of sight (including fly over the hanger opening).

Thanks

Tom

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: That is absolutely fine with me, understood and really happy.

IC: The giant mythical avian creature had plucked the 'copter from its disastrous spiraling descent and had laid its broken frame in front of the hangar doors.

Such was the power in its wing beats that the copter parts were sent flying towards the unseen roars of the jet hidden in the hangar.

OOC: Dr Wildman in Roc form will use his action to use his wingbeat ability to whip up parts of the broken copter and throw that debris towards the unseen vehicle in the hangar.

(Hope that's an OK use of his ability)

Steve

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Erdbeben stopped in the stairwell to catch his breath. "I'll have to remember to thank Adamas for distracting Behemoth to allow me to escape" he thought briefly to himself.

HIs thoughts were quickly drowned out by the sound of the jet engines firing up somewhere close. Too close, if he had to judge for himself. "That's probably the rest of the Destroyers trying to make a getaway."

Unfortunately, he didn't give Adamas and Behemoth another thought, thinking that Adamas would be able to handle the Behemoth monster on his own given that he was a seasoned member of the team and had dealt with this kind of thing before.

OOC: Erdbeben will explore the next floor looking for a way to the jet. If he encounters Ratman (which he most likely will), he will revert to his tried-and-true strategy of firing two vibro blasts and running as fast as he can away from the threat.

Paul

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Adamas smiles, "Well if that's the best you've got, this won't take long.  What do you say we take this outside?"

Adamas will attempt to grab Behemoth and fly him through a nearby window/wall.  His end goal will be to do a pile driver with Behemoth into the ground.  He'll push if needed, I think Adamas has the strength to lift him, trying to use flight speed and HTH to do maximum damage.

Jon

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Steve, that is an acceptable use of the Roc's ability.

Tom

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jon, I am going to treat Adamas attack as a grapple hold. This will allow him to carry Behemoth with his when he flies. The wall/window will be treated as knockback (using flight for distance) when hitting an object (this way it isn't his second action of the turn)

That said, the ramming into the ground won't occur until next turn.

Let me know if you are okay with this. If not, please change Adamas action for the turn appropriately.

Thanks

Tom

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Love the connected covers :)

Tom, you're doing a really impressive job of coordinating so many PCs and NPCs.

Also, I want this phrase added to the comic lexicon immediately: "deafening squark" 🤘🤘

Ignoring the sound of jet engines to focus on the more immediate situation, Patty charges into the room, and after a quick assessment decides to go after Chrysalis.

"Try me on for size, bug lady."

Patty attempts her paralytic poison attack on Chrysalis, hoping it can get through her armor.

The Black Orchid shakes her head groggily and sits up. "How did he hit me twice without me being able to do anything? Am I that slow?" she thinks to herself. "Rats are known for enjoying the dark. Let's see how a man-sized rat feels." The Black Orchid will envelope Ratman in a field of darkness in preparation for running upstairs to hopefully deal with the plane.

Marc

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Perfectly OK with that!  Sounds like you have the intent.  Now if I miss the Grapple...

Jon

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

 Amazing.  That dual cover is gold.

Love everyone's actions.  This group is so entertaining!  Love. IT.

IC:

With the release of StrikeForce by Shapeshifter and being summarily dragged away by M.I.S.H.A., Rubicon says, "Ya! We've finally found a rubber toy worthy of your time M.I.S.H.A."

<<EXCITEMENT>>

With that, Rubicon moves to the bottom left corner of the room with his back against the wall.  When in position he says, "Let's see if we can play with her together, eh?"

<<HUNGER>>

Rubicon raises his head up, his eyes rolling back into his head and starting to glow the same color as M.I.S.H.A.

<<!>>

<<Syncing....>>

OOC: Rubicon moves to the corner of the room as shown below where he attempts to to establish his NanoSync with M.I.S.H.A. to add Heightened Expertise to hit to M.I.S.H.A.'s attacks.

If successful, Rub/I.S.H.A. (is that a thing...? M.I.S.H/icon. Never mind, I'll show myself out) attempts replicate the bear attack scene from The Revenant on Shapeshifter with bite attack.

Tom, I may need a reminder of the level of concentration.  If this To Hit approach allows M.I.S.H.A. to have a better opportunity attack more than once let me know and we'll take claw attack as well.

Let me know if that makes sense or if we need to discuss and adjust.

Thanks!

Greg

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

 All,

Sorry, I realized I didn't add the screen shot I mentioned and also was in error when I stated Rubicon would move to the bottom left corner of the room. That should read, "...bottom right corner of the room...". Hopefully this clarifies my intent.

Best,

Greg

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, that helps. MISHA chance to hit increases with linked with Remy. It is now at 22 or less before defenses or modifiers.

MISHA can tell that Shapeshifter's pliable body provides significant protection from his teeth and claws. He will have to hit her a lot of times to beat her.

Tom

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks Tom,

That being the case, I'd like to revise my action. I understand if there's some aspect of perception requiring CR or penalty for multi-action to do this, let me know. I think its worth it the sooner we realize this.

Demy can sense M.I.S.H.A.'s desire (?) to tear into Shapeshifter. Realizing her pliability, he redirects the urgent Ursa to adjust its stance.

As a result, M.I.S.H.A. shifts from preparing to lunge onto her to stepping back and aim the plasma canon at her. MISHA will fire at least one round into Shapeshifter.

OOC: I think that I will direct my attack on Chrysalis. She seemed to enjoy attacking StrikeForce from a distance, let's see what she thinks about getting my undivided attention.

IC: Tired of being used as a pin cushion, StrikeForce closes the distance between him and Chrysalis and attacks. "Let's see how you like a two against one when it is not in your favor.

Jamey

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Rubicon needed to pass a perception test to know what MISHA experienced through their shared link. Demy needed an 11 or less, he rolled a 2.

There is no penalty to the revised action you want to perform. I will use it as submitted, but feel free to add more content to the turn as you like.

Tom

---------------------------------------------------------------------

 Tom,

Looking at StrikeForce's character sheet I noticed that he has gear control. This allows him to control machines, doesn't it? Is this all of them, or are some of them exempt? If so, which ones? I'm still deciding where to go with his next advancement. Greater control of machines would be something that would not infringe on anyone else's character. I had thought about the animated servant, but his advanced scouting would step on Patty's astral projection. I also don't know that it would be right to spend the points to take away his vulnerability to Chrysalis attacks. When you have time, I would be interested in your opinion.

Thanks,

Jamey

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I checked the page number for Gear Control. It really is Electrical Gear Control. I have added the descriptor to the Character Sheet to make it easier to use. On that basis, anything with a CPU can be gear controlled. It will be limited to the basis of the functionality of the CPU of the gear. Using the Vehicle example from the game. If the vehicle has a robot brain, then StrikeForce can gear control the robot brain, I would treat it just like Mind Control. If successful StrikeForce can give the robot brain commands to execute which it will perform. There wouldn't be an "against belief" saving roll. If the vehicle does not have a robot brain, then anything the vehicle can do from the driver pushing a button or other electrical signal, StrikeForce will be able to do it with a command. Electronic locks could be gear controlled.

Non-Electrical machines would be exempt. The first thing that comes to mind are pistols & rifles and key/combination locks.

I will think about the other items you mentioned but I wanted to get Electrical Gear Control back to you now, so you can think about it.

Tom

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Tom,

Would he, be able to control the escape vehicle for the Destroyers? If so, how close would he need to be?

StrikeForce needs to be 48 inches to attempt to control the escape vehicle. He would suffer a -4 range penalty for being 40+ squares away. Page 108 has the Range Difficulty chart. He can't offset the penalty with Heightened Senses because there are walls between him and his target.

If he succeeds, he might not have complete control because it might not have an auto-pilot feature (robot brain). If it doesn't, there he still could control specific systems, such as shut down engines.

Tom,

How close could StrikeForce get to the plane in the time he has this turn?

Jamey

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

If StrikeForce pushes (-2 PP) he can move 48 squares which will put him about 5 squares (1 square added for walls), which is a -1 to hit. If he doesn't push, he will be 29 squares which is -3

 Thanks for the info Tom. I'll work on my altered update as soon as I can.

Tom,

Just wondering, gear control, would that allow him to control things like computers and security systems?! Or would he need a different ability for that?

Thanks,

Jamey

Yes, it does.

Hearing the sound of Jet engines firing up, StrikeForce realizes that The Destroyers, or at least some of them are attempting an escape. "Looks like each of the Destroyers here has a dance partner, so it should be o.k. for me to see if I can stop the take off." Breaking out into a full run, The Bionic Brawler pushes himself, while hoping that he makes it there in time.  When he is within range of the Destroyers escape craft, StrikeForce will attempt to take control of it.

OOC: He will "push" together as close as possible in the time he has, so that he can attempt to shut the jet down. Let me know if you need anything else from me.

I need to know what you mean by shutting it down. What electronic gear in the gyro-rocket is StrikeForce attempting to control and what is he commanding it to do.

Think about an airplane or car in today's world. Even an aircraft with autopilot can't be engaged until after takeoff and cruising altitude has been established. This isn't a robot machine which doesn't need a pilot. The Destroyers can't sit in the back of the gyro-rocket instructing it to fly them to safety.

Thanks

Tom,

Could he turn of the engine coolant system? So that it heats up too hot, and they are forced to shut off the engines. Or could he control the landing gear? Retracting it so that the vehicle drops to the ground and would have a hard time taking off. Fuel pump, either shutting it off so that the engines get no fuel, or speed it up so that it floods the engines. If one of these don't work, I will try to think of something else.

Thanks,

Jamey

Definitely a yes on the landing gear and the fuel pump. I think the coolant system might be computer controlled but I am not sure.

If you really want the coolant system, I will allow it.

So, any 3 will work. Which one do you to try? If you want to attempt multiple, then it will be -3 to all for each additional added like any other multi attack.

Tom

Let's go with the fuel pump. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks Tom. I appreciate you taking the time to help me with my decision this turn.
