Location: Stonehenge, England
The ground forces exited the coral. Slowly they followed the tanks toward The Tower. They had chosen the northern route to keep out of the sites of the cannons of The Chariot. All hoped the Black Ops team was successful. The open field would be a death zone if the Blackfire unleashed its fearsome broadside on them.
Tank 1 took the North most position with Tank 2 to the South of it. The waiting was intense. Tank 2 fired two rockets. The ground troops watched to see if War Wagon was firing on the Tarot Masters’ aerial forces or The Tower itself. To everyone’s surprise the seeker rockets hit the other Tank.
Inside Tank 1 Cure watched the rockets leave Tank 2. That was her cue. She rotated the laser turret toward Tank 1. When she saw Tank 1’s Laser fire she fired 12 laser blasts as well. She also destroyed the rocket launchers. Radiation alarms sounded within Tank 1.
Suddenly there was a loud hissing sound heard from the side of the Tank, and Daniel quickly shifted from his Sanctuary back to the temporal world. The south side of the Tank was glowing red hot and there were explosions atop the hull. Daniel prepared Craftsman’s ‘gifts’, slipping on his visor, and heard the sound of laser fire and a screeching of alarms. There was a call over a speaker to exit the Tank and the bay doors opened as the explosive bolts fired. Immediately Archer acrobatically leapt from the tank rolling to a stop a few meters from the smoldering armored vehicle.
The radiation quickly reached unsafe levels. Elwood, Magus, Condor, Dynamo, Red Hawk, Shatterman, and Starbolt, retreated into the midst of the ground forces throwing them into chaos. The ground forces didn’t understand what the aerial team was fleeing from.
Centurion X and Black Orchid stayed in the tank.
As the missiles slammed into Tank #1, CX realized that not everyone said, “No” to the invaders offer. Silently cursing himself for not preparing for this contingency, He quickly formed a new plan. He quickly began to hack the security system of the tank’s computer.
As he worked the forces of the Taro Masters disabled Tank 2 and badly damaged the Tank he was working on.
The Cure calmly put her suit back on and flew out of the Tank to join Space Racer and Skyhawk. She silently watched over the battlefield.
Adamas exited the back of the M-5Q, into the waiting ground forces, he hovered above surveying the battleground... he was shocked to see heroes attacking heroes... "This is how the Domain twists a world, it's not enough to attack it, but to eat at its core values like a physical and moral cancer," he thought to himself.
Above them, he saw smoke rising from the flying ship, and thought “well at least some part of the plan seems to be working”... both Tanks appear to be disabled for all intents and purposes, using his vision, he tried to locate the members of his team, and was shocked to see the Cure crossing over to the enemy camp.
Seeing Terra-Rizer attack Tank 1, and not seeing Elrod exit... Adamas flew into action. Using his speed and strength, he flew behind Terra-Rizer, and grabbed him. He successfully put him in a Full Nelson hold.
{GM Note: Rolled a 1. Since Adamas action did not fit the Critical (Crits) Hit Chart (see end of issue before Current Conditions). I applied the Bandidos y Vigilantes – Mexican Wrestling Moves for V& V section 8.10 for a successful Hold. If you don’t have the current rules let me know and I will provide what they can do. All attacks to Terra-Rizer gets a +2 bonus from being in the hold.}
Dynamo led the attack. She flew toward the Mother Superior. “You think that armor makes you tough. To me your nothing more than a lightning rod!”
ZZZT! She fired a lightning bolt but missed.
Epsilon focused his mind. “Okay big guy, time for a little bigger they are, the harder they fall action.” He yelled at Tower as he unleashed a TK bolt at the club wielding giant. The bolt missed.
Tomahawk leaped into action. “Ancient ancestors guild my hand and provide my blow strength!” He said as the attacked Terra-Rizer. As he slung his magical tomahawk Terra-Rizer twisted his body. To his anguish, Tomahawk missed striking Adamas instead.
{GM Note: Rolled a 20 and then a 2 on the Fumble Table. Adamas received 16 points damage all against Invulnerability.}
Fortress waved his wooden staff. He murmured an ancient druid spell over the land. “Rise up mighty Earth, Smite the Giant where he stands.”
WHAM! An elemental column of earth rose up striking Tower hard. Tower rolled with the damage and was still standing.
Skyhawk looked to The Cure for the signal. Not seeing it he hovered and watched.
Lightning Fist withdrew his Katana. He surveyed the Tarot Masters. In a swift, silence motion he ran toward Terra-Rizer. “Time to cut you down to size”, he growled.
SLICE! He struck true. Terra-Rizer flinched in pain but still stood.
Priestess surveyed her team. “Lord Noman, One of our objectives is complete. Soon I expect will have disabled the other tank. Do you know what is wrong with Chariot? Red Fury and her crew have not fired on the intruders yet? Chariot has lost 2 of its sails but I can’t tell where the attack is coming from.”
She turned her attention to her reserve troops, “Do not fire yet. We will let the Majors fight first then choose our targets.”
Gale followed Dynamo toward the other flyers. Aiming at Emerald she said “Time to reap the whirlwind. It would be best if you surrendered now.”
WHOOSH. The miniature tornado missed.
Magus took aim at Cure and Molecule Man and shouted out to the other members of the taskforce, "I'll deal with our friends! Ground Teams attack the giants on your assigned tank! Ariel Teams attack at will!"
His Elfsbane Spell successfully hit both The Cure and Molecule Man.
{GM Note: This has freed The Cure and Molecule Man from permanent Emotion Control.
The Cure will no longer have to make a save roll to be free from the Emotion Control spell. She can switch sides whenever her player wants to.
Molecule Man will now make a saving roll before every action. He gets a +5 modifier from Magus’ Presence and the modifier from Cr’tegorf was eliminated. Molecule Man needed a 16 or less to be free; 17 was rolled}
In spite of the overwhelming chaos, Elwood adjusted his hat and appeared to speak to the space just in front of Magus, "Ohhh I am sure it was just a misunderstanding." Turning his eyes directly to Magus' he went on in same calm tone, "Perhaps Harvey and I should go speak to her. Mary seemed confused and may be in danger."
Condor flew toward the aerial forces. “C’mon Shatterman and Redhawk! Let’s take it to them like heroes!” He attempted to punch Tengu but missed. His right wing malfunctions and he has to abruptly spread his wings to maximum spread (his soar mode) to keep from crashing.
{GM Note: Rolled 20 and then 3. He is +4 to hit until his next action because of device failure}
Sister Indigo cried, “Sinners repent. Bow down and worship all mighty Cr’tegorf! He will forgive you and you will be rewarded. Those who do not repent will be cleansed!”
BWSST! Sister Indigo fired 5 spirit bolts into Tank 1. Centurion and Black Orchid braced themselves as the Tank rocked but its armor held.
Archer said, “It is said no plan survives contact with the enemy . . . especially the enemy within apparently.” Watching as a tall red-haired warrior woman shook off the effects of the explosions, Archer grabbed the harness of the winged equine as it tromped from the tank. “Nice horse.” Seeing the anger in her eyes, a desire to angrily punish others he once felt. Quickly handing her the reins, Archer addressed the eager warrioress. “Nice blade too. Can it cut steel?” Turning quickly he focuses the telescopic function of his visor across the battlefield and zeros in on three villains close to the Tower.
Pfitt, Pfitt, . . . both arrows flew down the battlefield.
Archer turned back to Red Hildegarde. “Wait for it … 1, 2, 3 …” Boom, BOOM. “Interested in helping me take that Tower down and saving the world?”
Red Hildegarde climbed on top of Airbiscuit, “The daughter of Siegfried and Brunnhilde will indeed save the world today and every day after that!”
Across the battlefield the first arrow landed striking its intended location.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
The sonic arrow sent powerful sound waves around the stones of Stonehenge. Priestess was able to cover her ears in time to miss its effects. The Queen of Pentacles force field modulated the waves to a non painful level. The sound waves passed harmlessly through Ion.
The Shroud, King of Pentacles, Three, Four, and Five of Pentacles all cried in pain but were able to endure it.
The Two of Pentacles fell to the ground incapacitated.
The second arrow released it flare before hitting the ground.
Priestess, King and Queen of Pentacles successfully covered their eyes from the light.
The Three and Five of Pentacles were blinded.
Skylark flew up toward Sister Indigo, “It is tragic that a conflict cannot be settled peacefully. Come let us talk about what it means to be a Sinner and what it means to sin against Cr’togerf. I will introduce you to the gods of Perator. Come let us reason together.”
Sister Indigo replied, “Never, while there are many gods the most powerful is Cr’togerf. He shows this with might, not with reason!”
Skylark said, “A show of might with the Indestructibles only leads to tragedy for you!”
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Skylark fired a sonic blast at Sister Indigo. Her scream missed.
Mother Superior said to Dynamo.”I am no lightning rod. I am Judgment! I judge you inferior!”
ZZZZZT, Mother Superior threw a lightning bolt hitting Dynamo damaging her armor.
Tower lifted his club high into the sky. He brought it down with full force onto Tank 1.
SMASH! The club broke through the windshield. Centurion X and Black Orchid ducked and covered to avoid the flying glass, then went back to work.
Starbolt took flight. The Stellar-Powered Sentinel attempted get through to Laserfire. "Man, you know deep down that this is the wrong thing to do. Fight this." Laserfire had a confused look on his face.
{GM Note: Starbolt’s Presence modifier of 7 will be added to Laserfire’s save roll but roll will have to wait until it is Laserfire’s phase.}
Manta Man took to the sky. He flew around Tank 1 firing electricity at Tower.
ZZZT! Tower’s hair stood on end as he was shocked but he withstood the blast.
Raven flew toward Tengu. “Time to face the talons of a true warrior. Surrender now and save yourself the pain!”
Tengu just smiled as Raven missed when he flew by.
Armorman Junior moved from the crowd. “The Tarot Masters think they can destroy Justice, Freedom, Truth, and Peace. But these ideals cannot be destroyed. That is what we fight for!” He launched his rocket boosters as he jumped into the sky. He planned to deliver a rocket powered punch to Terra-Rizer.
ROAR! He missed and flew past the Earth Elemental Giant.
Tengu drew his sword. “So many fools so little time.” He stabbed Condor bypassing his armor.
“Aargh” Condor screamed as he rolled with the strike.
Molecule Man ran around Tank 2 toward Klondike. “So you Canucks think you can save the world because the USA has gone soft. That is far from the truth. We can still kick anyone’s rear. It is the bleeding hearts and politicians that make us appear weak but we are not! The USA is as strong as ever. Don’t tread on me!”
Whiff! Whiff!
Molecule Man’s right cross followed by an upper cut both missed.
Bodies moved across the battlefield, Chris shook his head and regained his feet as the heroes align themselves against the pawns of the Devil. I can’t believe I almost gave in to this evil. All this destruction and so many lives at risk … time to show I deserve to be a legacy to Freedom Eagle. Lifting himself into the air, Red Hawk activated his Vibratory Defenses. Projecting his android voice for all its synthetic worth, “Condor, Shatterman, anyone who can fly or shoot at range, we need to take their flyers out. Protect our people on the ground.” He swept high into the air targeting Skyhawk.
BBBRRTT!
His vibe blast struck Skyhawk hard but Skyhawk rolled with part of it and was still airborne.
War Wagon lay on the ground. He activated his wrist controls. The armored wheel chair started to move. Soon it was next to him. War Wagon pulled himself up into his chair. He locked himself into place and activated all his controls. War Wagon was ready to roll.
The Black Orchid, fortuitously being invisible when the attack came moved up to Centurion X. "Centurion, no one except the people in this tank know I can turn invisible. I'm going to run right up the middle, or do you need help overriding this tank? This technology looks impressive, but nothing I can't handle. I'm sure I could help."
"Go Now!!! The radiation levels in here are rising fast. There is no sense in both of us getting roasted! Go! Coordinate with the Team Leader. Use your invisibility to your advantage. I've got this!! GO!!"
He glanced back over his shoulder to see no one there.
"I sincerely hope you have actually gone! We'll have words if you wind up with radiation sickness..." He hoped his words fall upon an empty vehicle. He continued his work.
"This is insane" The Black Orchid thought to herself as she ran from the back of the tank after checking with Centurion X. "I could take the hit but he's probably too macho to accept the help. Maybe I can do more good on the field being invisible instead." The Black Orchid ran toward the tower full speed, yet keeping her defenses up. She looked around at the carnage and shook her head. "They're just having us kill time getting to them, I have the feeling in a few minutes it won't matter how successful or not we are at defeating our adversaries.
Once he was through the complex defense software, He began writing hard code into the tank’s operational software. Once he completed that task, he disabled the User Interfaces on a hardware level. The commands: Begin overloading the fusion power plant and drive to coordinate X (The Tower). Setting the timing of the detonation to correspond with the tank’s arrival at the base of the tower, CX then fled the tank and joined the ground forces behind him.
As he fled he grabbed his side in pain. The radiation had affected him but it was worth it.
{GM Note: 5 points of damage cannot roll with it is it as an passive area effect. -5 HP. He made is endurance save so no lingering effects later}
Upon getting to within shouting distance of the Ground #1 Team Lead, he shouted,
“I’ve set the tank on a collision course with the Tower. The core is going to blow!!!! Don’t trust the Comms Yet!!! Spread the word!
Space Racer looked at The Cure for the signal. Seeing none, he waited.
Kali touched the stud on her power-chucks. They hummed to life. She charged to Tower.
“Hi-Yaa!” She cried as she swung her power-chucks. She missed her target
Emerald laughed at Gale, “Why would I fear the wind when my very thoughts can level a mountain”
Emerald fired a TK blast striking Gale in the leg. Gale cried in pain but smiled with she realized her leg wasn’t broken.
{GM Note: Rolled 1 and 6 but failed the % rolled to disable the leg}
Blizzard ran between the tanks, “Time to put Tower on ice!”
He launched a blast of Ice from his hands missing the Tarot Master Giant.
American Woman flew toward the fiery villain Diablo. “Here’s Light in your eyes!”
ZZWWT! Her laser blast missed.
Gunsmith followed Blizzard, “A single bullet can solve any problem including one that is towering over you.”
BLAM! He fired a taser hitting Tower in the head. Tower grabbed his head and staggered a few steps. He staggered a few steps more and then straightened up.
{GM Note: Rolled 1 and then 1 again. It is a head shot. Tower has to make an endurance save to stay conscious. He needed to roll an 8 or less. Rolled a 7.}
Red Hildegarde took to the sky on Airbiscuit. They flew toward Terra-Rizer. She swung her sword ‘Nothung’ missing her target. Airbiscuit successfully kicked Terra-Rizer. He gave no appearance of being hurt by the blow.
Serena stared in horror at the battle. She ran toward the coral to hide.
Gauntlet flew toward Sister Indigo. “I am neither Sinner nor Saint. I am me and that is all!”
He fired a rocket blast at her, missing.
Super Nova fired 2 flame blasts at Tank 2 disabling it. “Tarot Masters our mission is a success, now let’s finish these fleas before us.”
Diablo stared menacingly at America Woman. “How about I light your fire?”
WHOOSH! A flame blast was sent by Diablo missing American Woman.
As the new children of Cr'tgerof gathered together they all drop their communicators. Notably missing from around the Cure's neck was her amulet which she had left in the tank. You could almost hear above the chaos the voice of Shyhawk shout "Keep them busy Magnetor!" Shyhawk then turned to the Cure who looked at him then lifted her visor and said "The rest of you on my mark." Just as she gets the last word out Laserfire launched a blinding flash at the crowd of turned heroes. The Cure, Syhawk, and Space Racer were unaffected by the flash and retained their site.
“Thanks Starbolt, I don’t know what I was thinking.” Laserfire said.
The Cure fire a Latarium Blast a Starbolt. She missed.
Skyhawk fired a power blast at Red Hawk. It missed.
The Cure, Skyhawk, and Space Racer flew off. Laserfire watched them fly to Chariot. “Uh oh, appears Chariot is about to get some help.” He said.
Magnetor fired his magnetic gun at War Wagon. He successfully grabbed the armored wheel chair and its owner.
The Shroud fired a lightning bolt at Adamas hitting him.
{GM Note: 13 points damage. -8 to Invulnerability and -5 to PP}
Resonator said. “Here let me show you how it’s done. Superior tech with superior intellect is the required formula for leveling a tower.”
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Resonator fired his Sonic Blaster at Tower. Hitting the Giant but was unable to KO him. Tower was turning out to be tougher than expected.
Dreamweaver focused her mind. “Maybe it takes a woman’s touch.” She said as she released a TK Blast at him. Unfortunately whether it did or it didn’t will have to be discovered later because she missed.
Blastar flew up to the Tarot Master’s aerial forces. “Okay tough guys. Let’s see which of you are tough enough to take me on.”
Volcanic Man charged toward Terra-Rizer. “You think you are one with the Earth do ya? Well you aint one with this rock. Here’s something for ya right in the mush.”
WHAM! Volcanic landed a titanic blow to Terra-Rizer. Strangely it appeared the flame surrounding Volcanic Man caused Terra-Rizer to harden where it touched him.
Evergreen moved to attack Tower. “Cr’togerf and his demons are an offense to the Earth. They cannot be in harmony with it. You must side with your true home.” She reached out to poison him but was unable to hit Tower.
Black Orchid successfully crossed the battlefield to the stones of Stonehenge. She could see inside the bottom floor. There were zombies carrying equipment and assembling the building. The Tower was still under construction.
Terra-Rizer didn’t try to break the hold he was in. “Do you think I need my hands to attack you? Then you are a fool.” A column of earth rose up from behind Adamas striking him hard in the back. WHAM!!
{GM Note: 18 points damage, -7 PP and -11 HP}
Shatterman flew toward Super Nova. “Fleas you say. What is it about you flamers and your feelings of superiority? Well I eat flamers for breakfast!” Shatterman fired his power blast. ZOW! He hit Super Nova but the flaming villain didn’t even flinch. “Is that all you got glow boy” Super Nova said.
Klondike said, “This isn’t about countries this is about saving the world. I don’t care which country is more powerful but know that Klondike is most powerful of all!”
WHAM! Klondike struck Molecule Man with a massive punch. The blow knocked Molecule Man back 25 feet. Molecule Man laid on his back for a second then sat up. Molecule Man dusted himself off. “Now Canuck it’s on.” He said.
Ten of Pentacles fired at Manta Man. His gun jammed. He bent to clear it.
{GM Note: Rolled 20 and 3. His device is stuck and he is +4 to hit until his next action}
King of Pentacles fired at Gunsmith, missing his shot.
Four of Pentacles fired at Manta Man hitting him. Manta Man rolled with the damage but stayed in flight.
Seven of Pentacles fired at Manta Man hitting him in the head. Manta Man fell to the ground unconscious.
{GM Note: Rolled 1 and 1. He had a 12% chance of unconsciousness and rolled 2%}
Knight of Pentacles fired at Gunsmith hitting him. Gunsmith grunted with pain but rolled with most of the damage.
Paige of Pentacles fired at Gunsmith hitting him and knocking him back 5 feet. Gunsmith stood up.
Eight of Pentacles fired at Gunsmith hitting him. The shot knocked him back 15 feet. Again Gunsmith got to his feet.
Queen of Pentacles fired at Gunsmith and missed.
Nine of Pentacle fired at Gunsmith. The shot hit him in the stomach. He bent over and dropped to one knee from having the wind knocked out of him
{GM Note: Rolled 1 and 7. This resulted in a body blow with doubles the damage but only lowers power points. My thought is it is the low power equivalent to a devitalization ray}
Six of Pentacle fired at Gunsmith. He hit him and knocked him back 25 feet. Slowly Gunsmith raised his head from the ground. “Don’t worry I’m okay. I just need a second or two to catch my breath.”

At the same time as the heroes battled on the ground there was another battle on the Blackfire:
Red Fury screamed, “Get this land loving scum of my deck!” She lowered her magic cutlass. It released a vibratory blast striking Seeker full in the chest. The powerful blast knocked Seeker back 70 feet, the entire length of the Blackfire. He landed with a loud thud.
Chat Noir stared in shock at his incapacitated leader. With a scream of rage, he lost control. “I will rip you from stem to stern!” he yelled as he leaped over the two shipmates who had previously attack him. He flipped over barrels. He grabbed the rigging to swing toward Red Fury. He landed on the deck in front of her slashing with his claws widely. Red Fury parried one set of claws and side stepped the other.
Shipmate 14 swung his cutlass widely and missed Chat Noir. Fear overtaking him he lost his balance and fell to the deck.
{GM Note: Rolled 20 and 7. He is in an awkward position and will have +2 to be hit until his next action}
Cinder Maid threw 2 flame balls at Chat Noir. Both struck him in the back. He screamed in pain and the smell of burnt fur rose from where he stood.
Shipmate 5 attacked Phantom. He swung and missed with his cutlass.
Shipmate 8 swung and missed. He had attack Phantom with his cutlass.
Seeing that he's about to get 'wolf-packed', Phantom took a few quick steps backward and pointed his weapon at the high-tech cannon directly behind his attackers. The 'White Widowmaker' quickly reached for the trigger of his Under-barrel M203 Grenade Launcher and fired a M406 High-Explosive Round at the weapon.
KA-BOOM!
The explosive destroyed the cannon and blew a hole in the deck.
Shipmate 5 caught the full blast of the explosion and was incapacitated.
Shipmate 8 was hit by the blast. He was able to roll with enough of the blast to continue in the fight.
The explosive blast missed Shipmate 2 and Phantom.
Enforcer quickly changed from explosive round to mercy rounds. He fired at Shipmate 6 and missed.
Shipmate fired his flintlock at the back of Chat Noir. He hit the feline fury knocking him out.
Standing in the depth of the aft castle region of the ship, DarkStar shook his head as he admired Cindermaid’s tactics. “Crap, smart woman . . . I really do love smart women.” Between the two of us the ship has taken some pretty good damage already . . . Let’s see if we can speed that up a bit. Almost casually snapping the remaining mast from it’s fitting at his feet, the titan of transport used it like a ram smashing through a few of the support beams and combat teleports high above the forecastle. It worked on the Dhole, let’s see what we can do to a wooden sailing ship. Activating the StarCorp comm-link, DarkStar looked about for Cindermaid as he fell toward the ship. “Seeker, this ship is going down.” . . . “Adamas, Magus, I might need help catching some falling ‘heroes’.”
Shipmate 15 ran across the ship. He struck Enforcer’s force field with his cutlass. It repelled his attack.
Shipmate 11 stabbed his cutlass at Phantom. The White Widow-make side stepped the attack.
Shipmate 3 cowered below deck as he breathed a sigh of relief. Even with all the damage the blue man had done the remaining supports held the deck safely above him.
Shipmate 6 struck Enforcer with his cutlass. He hit Enforcer’s gun knocking it from his hand. The weapon slid across the deck. It went over the side of the ship. “Ha, let’s see how tough you are matey without your fancy weapon!”
{GM Note: Rolled 1 and 8. Successful hit on the weapon. Damage was greater than structural rating. Gun was destroyed}
Shipmate 9 fired his flintlock at Enforcer. He missed
Shipmate 12 ran across the ship attacking Enforcer with his cutlass and missed.
Shipmate 7 attacked Phantom striking him with his cutlass.
{GM Note: 7 damage points. -5 to Invulnerability and -2 PP}
Shipmate 2 attacked Phantom with his cutlass. He struck him with a hard blow.
{GM Note: 8 damage points. -4 PP and -4 HP}
The three traitor flying heroes arrived at the Blackfire. The Cure, Space Racer, and Skyhawk survey the battle between Red Fury and her crew and the Black Ops team.
Space Racer said “Red Fury we have been sent by the great and powerful Cr’togerf. How can we server him?”

OOC: Being attacked by the other tank was a real surprise. CX, however, hates to lose. He would not have fled the tank immediately.
IC: As the missiles slam into Tank #1, CX realizes that not everyone said, “No” to the invaders offer. Silently cursing himself for not preparing for this contingency, He quickly forms a new plan. He quickly begins programming the tank’s computer with simple commands. Once written, he transmits the program to the other tank using a backdoor override. The commands: Begin overloading the fusion power plants and drive to coordinate X (The Tower). Setting the timing of the detonation to correspond with the tanks’ arrival at the base of the tower, CX then flees the tank and joins the ground forces behind him. Across his Comm Unit he transmits,
“Attention all Earth Defense Personnel, the crew of Tank #2 has succumb to the mind control of the enemy. Repeat, Tank 2’s crew is compromised. They are now with the enemy!!! Respond accordingly!!! Deactivate Tank 2’s Comm Links. They already know the plan; let’s not give any changes to it!!!”
Upon getting to within shouting distance of the Ground #1 Team Lead, he shouts,
“I’ve set the tanks on a collision course with the Tower. The cores are going to blow!!!! Don’t trust the Comms Yet!!! Spread the word!

OOC: Since this is a surprise Centurion does not have an action this turn. I allowed the surprised PCs and NPCs movement only this turn.
He will have to execute the commands next turn. Setting the Fusion Power Plant to overload is not simple. There are multiple safety protocols that have to be overridden therefore setting up the self-destruct commands for the tank. This counts as an attack to bypass the safety protocols therefore it is an action not movement. Centurion X will have to make 3 skill saves to overcome the safety protocols to execute the command. Please provide the 3 skills you want to use, you can use 1 skill twice. The reason for this is the U.S. Military did not want to deal with the media accusing them of creating their own suicide bombers or the embarrassment of having the enemy figuring out how to do it remotely.
I had Centurion X leave to avoid suffering Radiation poisoning. Cure is flooding your tank with radiation which the Centurion X suit doesn't protect against. If Centurion X stays to execute the commands he will take 2d8 radiation damage (can't roll with it). Then he will have to make an endurance save, if he fails then he will take another 1d8 damage. Do you still want to stay long enough to execute the commands?
The other Tank was disabled. It can't move. Do you still give it the self-destruct command?
Regards
Tom

OOC: It’s the fate of the world, he stays. The second tank is useless as it cannot make its way to the Tower. He will use Engineering: Computer Programming to get passed the security, the same to issue the locked in commands, and then Gadgeteering to create a hardware block to prevent the commands from being overridden. I will edit the previous 'post' to reflect these changes so you can use them verbatim in the next issue.

They already know the plan, let’s not give away any changes to it!!!”
Upon getting to within shouting distance of the Ground #1 Team Lead, he shouts,
“I’ve set the tank on a collision course with the Tower. The core is going to blow!!!! Don’t trust the Comms Yet!!! Spread the word!

The Black Orchid, fortuitously being invisible when the attack came [OOC: at least I think so] moves up to Centurion X. "Centurion, no one except the people in this tank know I can turn invisible. I'm going to run right up the middle, or do you need help overriding this tank? This technology looks impressive, but nothing I can't handle. I'm sure I could help." [OOC: Technology: Teacher - 42 and/or Engineering: Specialist - 36 as one of the skills if Centurion X wants her help]
[OOC: on another note, also I'm assuming there was no effect from "grappling" with the vision]

OOC: Teamwork and self-sacrifice. LOVE IT.
Good luck you two. Hope all your Skill and Endurance rolls are successful. Oh and Archer has a question for the two of you on his way out of the tank

IC: In spite of the overwhelming chaos, Elwood adjusts his hat and appears to speak to the space just on front of Magus, "Ohhh I am sure it was just a misunderstanding." Turning his eyes directly to Magus' he went on in same calm tone, "Perhaps Harvey and I should go speak to her. Mary seems confused and may be in danger."
OOC: Kev may wish to insert stuff here.
I will save actions unless inspired by other responses. If there appears to be increased threats to Elwood's immediate area, Harvey will scoop up Elwood and speed off to a "safe" location.

Black Orchid can't reach the Tower this turn but can reach Stonehenge. How far does she go and what does she do when she gets there?
You are correct there was no effect from grappling with the vision.
Thanks
Tom

IC: (Reply back to Black Orchid)
"Go Now!!! the radiation levels in here are rising fast. There is no sense in both of us getting roasted! Go! Coordinate with the Team Leader. Use your invisibility to your advantage. I've got this!! GO!!"
He glances back over his shoulder to see no one there.
"I sincerely hope you have actually gone! We'll have words if you wind up with radiation sickness..." He hopes his words fall upon an empty vehicle. He continues his works and THEN rushes out of the tank.
Dave

OK, The Black Orchid will then stay invisible and maneuver towards the tower as quickly as she can, steeling herself for trouble (activating Willpower as her one action). She will help the crew working on disabling the tower covertly.

IC: As the new children of Cr'tgerof gather together they all drop their communicators. Notably missing from around the Cure's neck is her amulet which she has left in the tank. You can almost hear above the chaos the voice of Shyhawk shout "Keep them busy Magnetor!" Shyhawk then turns to the Cure who looks at him then lifts her visors and says "The rest of you on my mark." Just as she gets the last word out Magnetor launches War Wagon's wheel chair at the crowd of heroes. The Cure,Shyhawk,Space Racer and Laserfire take to the sky.
OOC: Hey Tom. Hope your PC's O.K. getting hacked sucks. So here's what I'm thinking. Magnetor is not targeting any one person. It's more like bowling for heroes. If the flyers are being followed Laserfire should have a blinding flash. If power is from his hands he'll do one from each hand. Skyhawk will lock on the leader if we are followed and once again if from his hands double power blast. The Cure will also lock on the leader with a double shot. If no one follows the all head for the ship and save. Oh Space Racer saves and heads for the ship no matter what. The plan is to back up the crew of the flying ship. I'll get in faster next time. Got do deal with the real world every now and then.
Don't hate the NPC...
Hate the player with no love for the game.

DarkStar IC: Action and Responses
Standing in the depth of the aft castle region of the ship, DarkStar shakes his head as he admires Cindermaid’s tactics. “Crap, smart woman . . . I really do love smart women.” Between the two us the ship has taken some pretty good damage already . . . Let’s see if we can speed that up a bit. Almost casually snapping the remaining mast from it’s fitting at his feet, the titan of transport uses it like a ram through any support beams and combat teleports high above the forecastle. It worked on the Dhole, let’s see what we can do to a wooden sailing ship. Activating the StarCorp comm-link, DarkStar looks about for Cindermaid as he falls toward the ship. “Seeker, this ship is going down.” . . . “Adamas, Magus, I might need help catching some falling ‘heroes’.”
Actions: Dual attack on the ship in an attempt to disable/destroy it’s combat ability. Combat teleport in same way he did at the bridge when fighting the Star Demon.
Goal: This turn is all about damaging the ship as much as possible and creating opportunities for the next turn. With all three of the mast out of play DarkStar’s “mission objective” is accomplished.
The NPC’s didn’t want to play as a “team” and maximize their combined abilities to effect so be it. If it appears they have the crew in hand DS is going to teleport to the main battle next turn. If they don’t, he is going to use terminal velocity and his hth and the (mast) battering ram to crack the ship open like an egg. If they want a way down they better huddle up so he can teleport to them.

Here we go some of my last chances to play Chris - woot.
<Red Hawk IC: Action and Response>
Bodies littered across the battlefield, Chris shakes his head and regains his feet as the heroes align themselves against the pawns of the Devil. I can’t believe I almost gave in to this evil. All this destruction and so many lives at risk … time to show I deserve to be a legacy to Freedom Eagle. Lifting himself into the air, Red Hawk activates his Vibratory Defenses. Projecting his android voice for all its synthetic worth, “Condor, Shatterman, anyone who can fly or shoot at range, We need to take their flyers out. Protect out people on the ground.” And with that sweeps high into the air and targets Skyhawk.
Goal: Trying to rally the flyers in a fashion that was discussed back at CHESS headquarters. Willing to support any of the more experienced heroes who put forth a plan or make a suggestion.

Starbolt will take flight. The Stellar-Powered Sentinel will attempt get through to Laserfire. "Man, you know deep down that this is the wrong thing to do. Fight this." If Laserfire attempts to attack him, Starbolt will attempt to contain him in a energy sphere.
OOC:John, is there some ulterior reason you have targeted Skyhawk? Between this and Tom calling me Thunderbolt in the other game, I'm not feeling the love.

Wow I had the hardest time deciding how to use Archer this turn. With no street shadow work and leadership/communications a mess. I just couldn't figure where or who to send him in such a target rich environment. The battlefield seems huge but even most of the groundpounders can make it to the Tower in a single turn if they try ... and that is "the Mission", the Tower, not the bad guys. What to do, what to do?
<Archer IC: Actions and Responses>
Suddenly there is a loud hissing sound was heard from the side of the Tank, and Daniel quickly shifts from his Sanctuary back to the temporal world. The south side of the Tank was glowing red hot and there were explosions atop the hull. Daniel prepares Craftsman’s ‘gifts’, slipping on his visor, and hears the sound of laser fire and a screeching of alarms. There was a call over a speaker to exit the Tank and the bay doors opened as the explosive bolts fired. Immediately Archer acrobatically leaps from the tank rolling to a stop a few meters from the smoldering armored vehicle.
“It is said no plan survives contact with the enemy . . . especially the enemy within apparently.” Watching as a tall red-haired warrior woman shakes off the effects of the explosions, Archer grabs the harness of the winged equine as it tromps from the tank. “Nice horse.” Seeing the anger in her eyes, a desire to angrily punish others he once felt. Quickly handing her the reins, Archer address the eager warrioress. “Nice blade too. Can it cut steel?” Turning quickly he focuses the telescopic function of his visor across the battlefield and zeros in on three villains close to the Tower.
Pfitt, Pfitt, . . . both arrows fly down the battlefield.
Archer turns back to Red Hildegarde. “Wait for it … 1, 2, 3 …” Boom, BOOM. “Interested in helping me take that Tower down and saving the world? ”
Actions: Archer uses his dual-attack ability and target a path between the King and Queen with a Sonic Arrow. Hopefully its 10’ radius can do some damage to multiple targets. I think it might be able to also catch Shroud, Ion and Priestess in its area of effect (fingers crossed). Even more importantly is the second arrow aimed in exactly the same way. I’m hoping everyone looks up at the Sonic Arrow, and gets caught in the 10’ radius of the flare arrow. With some luck, they can neutralize some bad guys long enough for Red Hildegarde and Archer to attack any supports that might be anchoring the Tower into the earth next Turn.
Best I could come up with under the circumstances
Later Good Buddy

Hey T
Just a clarification for Archer. He's trying to target a "hex" that gets as many as those guys close to the Tower as possible. Sometimes my storytelling skills get muddled with game mechanics lol
Thanks

OOC: Going to keep this Issues responses really simply and 'to the point' since I'm so late with getting them in.
MAGUS
IC: Magus takes aim at Cure and Molecule Man and shouts out to the other members of the taskforce, "I'll deal with our friends! Ground Teams attack the giants on your assigned tank! Ariel Teams attack at will!"
OOC: Magus will do a double-attack with his Elfsbane Spell on Cure and Molecule Man.
PHANTOM
IC: Seeing that he's about to get 'wolf-packed', Phantom takes a few quick steps backward ( OOC: one game inch ) and points his weapon at the high-tech cannon directly behind his attackers ( OOC: the one next to Ship Mate 2 and 5 ). The 'White Widowmaker' quickly reaches for the trigger of his Under-barrel M203 Grenade Launcher and fires a M406 High-Explosive Round at the weapon.
OOC: I'm hoping the grenade will not only wipe-out / damage the cannon and maybe damage the ship, but also that the grenades blast radius will do some nice damage to the goons surrounding Phantom. With any luck the goons will block some of the blast that comes at Phantom - I / he knows that he might take some damage from the grenade, but its worth the risk if it deals a serious hurt to the Ship Mates ( i.e. risk vs. reward ). Also, I'm not sure if I passed along the info on the M406 High-Explosive Round to you or not:
M406 High-Explosive Round: Often called the "H-E" round, this round is intended to produce kills and casualties on point and group targets, as well as destroying bunkers and doors. Although the round has a 2” Blast Radius like all other grenades, the round is designed to concentrate most of its damage within the area around the initial strike point. Anything caught within the 0” to 1” Blast Radius of this round will suffer 2d8-1 damage, 1d6-1 ( minimum of 1 ) if within the 1” to 2” Blast Radius.
OOC: My apologies again for the delay, Tom - I assure you it couldn't be avoided.

Adamas IC:
Adamas exits the back of the M-5Q, into the waiting ground forces, he hovers above surveying the battleground... he is shocked to see heroes attacking heroes... "This is how the Domain twists a world, it's not enough to attack it, but to eat at its core values like a physical and moral cancer," he thinks to himself.
Above them, he sees smoke rising from the flying ship, and thinks well at least some part of the plan seems to be working... both Tanks appear to be disabled for all intents and purposes, using his vision, he tries to locate the members of his team, and is shocked to see the Cure crossing over to the enemy camp.
Seeing Terra Rizer attacking Tank 1, and not seeing Elrod exit... Adamas flew to action. Using his speed and strength, he flew behind Terra Rizer, and grabbed him attempted to slam him down on the traitors, hoping to knock some sense into them or snap them out of their trance.

Since Terra-izer is an opponent grabbing him counts as an action where grabbing an object counts as movement.
So if you grab Terra-izer this turn you can use him as a brawling weapon next turn.
Tom

That's fine, I didn't know if heightened speed would get me an extra action or not? :)

OOC: Ouch ... Diamond Jim's going to end up with a heck of a backache after this fight.
Not sure Jon every got a true impression of just how big Terra-Rizer really is. But hey DarkStar;s thinking of breaking the Blackfire in half and I have no clue how many Hit Points the thing has. Hey Tom, any chance one of Rose's multitude of engineering skills can give him a clue to the probability of that idea working out?
Later Buddy
John
----------------------------------------------------------
He knows that he will cause significant damage but since the mast will have the same structure rating as the ship then it will shatter on the deck. So it will not allow him to slice the Blackfire in half.
Best
Tom
