Location: Destroyers
Headquarters.
HQ top floor:
HQ roof:
[20] Annihilator flew off into
the sky away from the building.
[16] Annihilator continued flying
across Megalopolis.
[16] Iron Maiden attempted to
land the Gyro-Jet on the roof. With one wing covered in ice, she couldn’t
control the aircraft’s descent. The Gyro-Jet crashed into the hanger floor. The
armor withstood most of the impact. The aircraft did not blow up.
{GM Note: Since Iron Maiden was not attempting to ram, the impact damage
was only its Mass dice. The vehicle had enough hit points that the impact
didn’t eliminate them all. No explosion.}
Iron Maiden release the escape hatch latch. She ignited her rocket boots,
leaping through the hanger opening. She leaped the opposite direction from
where Dr. Wildman and Blizzard were.
{Iron Maiden could only use half her movement since she was in the vehicle.
The vehicle used half or less of its movement in its crash landing. There was
room for her to move through the roof without entering Dr. Wildman or
Blizzard’s zone of control which is what she did.}
Dreamweaver couldn’t leap out of the path of the crashing Gyro-Jet. The
aircraft smashed against her TK field. She was able to roll with what
penetrated her field. She was able to remain standing.
{GM Note: Because of the jet’s size: Profile x8; (Unfortunately, the
Profile and the Map don’t align. I will make sure I get that right next time).
Dreamweaver, Black Orchid, Rubicon, and MISHA were hit with an Area attack from
the Gyro-Jet. If they couldn’t leap out of the way, they would suffer the
aircraft’s Mass dice as damage. To leap out of the way the Character’s Physical
Defense is added to 9 and then 3 is subtracted for each square that must be
moved outside of the area attack. They could all move to the next square to
avoid the attack. Dreamweaver has a 1 for Physical Defense. Her target number
is 10, she rolled a 19. She is hit by the Gyro-Jet for 7 damage. Her TK Field
stops 5 and she rolls with 2. She is still standing and able to continue the
fight}
Black Orchid leaped out of the path of the crashing Gyro-Jet. The
aircraft smashed into the floor next to her.
{GM Note: Black Orchid has a 1 for Physical Defense. Her target number is
10, she rolled a 9. She moved 1 square away and out of the area attack.}
Rubicon leaped out of the path of the crashing Gyro-Jet. The aircraft
smashed into the floor next to him.
{GM Note: Rubicon has a 2 for Physical Defense. His target number is 11,
he rolled a 7. He moved 1 square away and out of the area attack.}
M.I.S.H.A couldn’t leap out of the path of the crashing Gyro-Jet. The
aircraft smashed into him. He was able to roll with the standing. He was able
to remain standing.
{GM Note: M.I.S.H.A. has a 1 for Physical Defense. His target number is
10, he rolled a 17. He is hit by the Gryo-Jet for 4 damage. He rolls with all 4
points of damage. He is still standing and able to continue the fight}
[15] Adamas
caught up to Annihilator. Adamas flew in
front of the Destroyer Tactical Leader.
"Going
somewhere, one dance partner down, and another one running out on me? You're going to hurt my feelings."
Adamas fired his auto-fire
power blast at Annihilator.
ZZWWT!! The blast hit. Annihilator’s force field stopped most of the blast.
Adamas could see that the blast did penetrate the force field. Annihilator
rolled with the damage that penetrated. He was still able to fight.
{GM Note: Adamas needed a 15 to hit, he rolled a 13. Adamas rolled 10
damage points. Annihilator’s force field stopped most of the damage.
Annihilator rolled with the rest.}
ZZWWT!! The blast hit. Annihilator’s force field stopped most of the blast.

ZZWWT!! The blast hit. Annihilator’s force field stopped the blast. Adamas
could see that the blast didn’t penetrate the force field.
{GM Note: Adamas needed a 15 to hit, he rolled a 6. Adamas rolled 4
damage points. Annihilator’s force field stopped all the damage.}
ZZWWT!! The blast missed.
{GM Note: Adamas needed a 15 to hit, he rolled an 18.}

could see that the blast didn’t penetrate the force field.
{GM Note: Adamas needed a 15 to hit, he rolled a 9. Adamas rolled 7
damage points. Annihilator’s force field stopped all the damage.}
[10] Ratman used his
scientific training to try to help Chrysalis overcome the paralysis. He was
unsuccessful
{GM Note: Ratman gave Chrysalis a bonus of +3 from his background and +1
from his opposing IN score. This +4 gave her a target number of 8. She rolled
an 18. Chrysalis is still paralyzed.}
[ 9] Iron Maiden activated
her rocket boots again as she leaped from building-to-building rooftop to get
away.
[ 8] William
grunted in frustration. He'd transformed into falcons as a druid, it was one of
the first beasts shapes he had learned. He was still getting used to the forms
the Helm of the Chimera offered him. Managing the form of the Roc was proving
to be more challenging than he had expected.
Still, he was
asserting a significant presence and clearly disrupting any plans the pilot had
of escape. The problem he had now was that tactically it would be useful to
assume a different shape or revert back to his normal form and use a different spell,
but the process of transformation would exhaust him, and he'd be no good to
anyone.
Dr Wildman flew after
Iron Maiden as she leaped from rooftop to rooftop through Center City, he used
his 'Chain of Command' on the pilot. He commanded to land on the nearest
rooftop and surrender. Iron Maiden did not obey his command.
{GM Note: Dr Wildman needed a 14 to hit, he rolled a 14. Iron Maiden IN
save to resist the Amulet of Charming. Iron Maiden needed to roll a 10 or less.
She rolled a 6. She made her IN save and didn’t have to obey the Command. Dr.
Wildman has only ONE charge left to use for the Amulet of Charming.}
[ 8] Annihilator fired two disintegration
rays at Adamas. “I see you are still as tough as always. I am betting that
fighting Behemoth and now myself is starting to wear down the vaunted Adamas.
The last time you got the isotope and we got you. Why do you think it will end
differently this time?
{ http://vav-megalopolis-pbem.blogspot.com/2011/11/quest-separate-ways-issue-17.html }
ZOM!!! The ray hit. “Well, well I was right, not invulnerable to everything?”
{GM Note: Adamas took 8 damage points. His invulnerability stopped nothing
as the ray is Other damage type. Adamas rolled with 1 point of damage, which is
-1 PP. Adamas took 7 points of damage to his Hit Points. No Knockback from the
ray. He was not knocked out and was able to continue to.}
Annihilator fired another disintegration ray at Adamas.
ZOM!!! The blast missed as Adamas dodged with a rolling scissors maneuver. “Still
trying to win I see. I guess I need to show you who your betters are. ME!!”
Annihilator flew off upward in the sky and then barrel rolled to start
another attack run at Adamas.
[ 7] Dreamweaver investigated
the Gryo-Jet. “Its empty! There is no one else in here. They must have somehow
doubled back into the Headquarters!” She ran out the door and back down the
hallway the way that she had come from earlier. Dreamweaver stopped to check on
StrikeForce.
[ 6] Erdbeben
was startled by the sudden crack and hiss of Electrocutioner's electricity.
Seeing Ratman with him, he suddenly got excited about the prospect of being
able to add to his newly formed DNA 'collection'.
"Halt... in the
name of... The LAW" Erdbeben yelled at the two Destroyers as Ratman ran
out of sight. Seeing Electrocutioner activate his electric aura, Erdbeben began
to realize that they were likely not going to concede to this authority as a
duly deputized member of the Crusaders.
Taking action to hold
the evil villains accountable for their association to the giant robot that had
ravaged Times Square, as he was running up to Electro to apprehend him, he
couldn't help but look over his shoulder wondering if he would have to fight
Electro all by himself or if any of the other Crusaders were still within
earshot of Electro's powers and would consider coming to help. He also couldn't
help but wonder if Electro's powers were natural or if they were the product of
some device...
Erdbeben ran up to
within 20 feet of Electrocutioner and fired off two shots of his Vibro Blast
before he could make good his escape.
VARR! the vibro blast hit Electrocutioner. The blast ripped through the
electric field smashing Electrocutioner. He fell to the ground Knocked out.
{GM Note: Erdbeben needed a 13 to hit, he rolled a 3. Erdbeben rolled 29
points of damage. The electricity aura stopped some of the damage.
Electrocutioner rolled with half of the remaining damage points. What was left
was greater than half of his hit points. Electrocutioner was knocked out.}
VARR! the second vibro blast hit simultaneously. The blast ripped through the
electric filed smashing into the Electric Fiend. He fell to the ground
incapacitated.
{GM Note: Erdbeben needed a 13 to hit, he rolled a 12. Erdbeben rolled 17
points of damage. The electricity aura stopped some of the damage.
Electrocutioner rolled with almost all the damage points. The very little
damage that was left was enough to bring his hit points to zero.
Electrocutioner was incapacitated.}
[ 5] Patty
realized something was going down in the hallway she just rounded the corner
from, she turned around and went check it out. Patty ran past Dreamweaver, then
Erdbeben. He didn’t need any help as it was easy to see that he had wiped out
Electrocutioner. She ran harder back to where Chrysalis was. There Patty found
Ratman trying to revive Chrysalis. Patty attacked him with her venom touch. She
reached out and missed. Ratman expertly dodged out of her reach.
{GM Note: Patty Plus pushed
her movement to reach back to where she was last turn. She needed a 9 to hit
and rolled a 16.}
[ 4] Blizzard fired an Ice
Blast at the Gyro-Jet. It hit. Ice froze around the side of the Gyro-Jet
weighting it down and covering its engines. He wanted to make sure it cooled
down and there weren’t any fuel leaks. He leaped down onto his ice mounds,
sliding down to the hanger floor.
[ 3] Rubicon ran after
Dreamweaver out of the hanger. He continued past Erdbeben. Rounding a hallway
turn he stopped as he saw Patty Plus fighting Ratman.
He fired a stun round from his
pistol at the Ratman
BLAM! The shot hit missed.
{GM Note: Rubicon needed a 10 to hit, he rolled a 14.}
[ 3] M.I.S.H.A. chased after
Rubicon. After Remy fired his pistol, M.I.S.H.A. charged toward Ratman. He
attempted to move past Ratman to cut of the Rodent Rogue’s means of escape, but
Ratman anticipated the move blocking M.I.S.H.A. from moving where he wanted to.
{GM Note: MISHA attempted to move through Ratman’s zone of control. MISHA
started with a base of 10. He added his physical defense bonus of 1 and
subtracted Ratman’s physical defense. MISHA’s target number was 6. He rolled a
12. He had to stay in the square he was in}
In rage and frustration M.I.S.H.A attacked Ratman, he was going to slash the
evil Rodent man with his claws and bite him.
CHOMP! He bit down on Ratman’s leg hard. The Rodent Rogue screamed in pain. He
was hurt but he was still standing and able to flee.
{GM Note: MISHA needed a 14 to hit, he rolled a 10. MISHA rolled 10
damage points. Ratman rolled with less than half. He still had more than half
of his Hit Points. He could continue to flee.}
SLASSH! M.I.S.H.A.’s claws raked across Ratman’s arm and ribcage. Again, he screamed
in pain. He was hurt but he was still standing and able to flee.
{GM Note: MISHA needed a 14 to hit, he rolled a 11. MISHA rolled 10
damage points. Ratman rolled with less than half. He still had more than half
of his Hit Points. He could continue to flee.}
[ 2] Black Orchid
followed the rest of the Crusaders down the hallway. She was right behind
Rubicon and M.I.S.H.A even though they couldn’t see her. She passed by Patty
Plus moving past M.I.S.H.A. Ratman raised his head smelling the air. “Ahh, my
invisible friend is back. Sorry, I must run so I won’t be able to stay and
play”, he said.
{GM Note: Each square
is 5 feet so there is plenty of room for Black Orchid to pass behind Patty and
MISHA. I did decide that this did negate the Zone of Control that Ratman had
over the squares, so he could not stop her from entering the vacant square next
to MISHA. Since the next square she moved to is out of Ratman’s zone of
control, he couldn’t attempt to stop her from leaving his Zone of Control}
ZUMPT!
Black Orchid blasted Ratman with her vacuum blast.
Ratman moaned as he was drained of his energy.
{GM Note: Black
Orchid needed a 15 to hit, she rolled 10. Black Orchid rolled 16 points of
damage. All of those are taken from Ratman’s power points, -16 PP.}
[ 1] Ratman said, “I hate to whiplash and
run, wait? What am I saying? I love to whiplash and run. Nighty Night you three!”
WHRRLSNAP! Ratman’s whiplash with his tail missed
M.I.S.H.A.
{GM Note: Ratman had a -6 for attacking 3 targets
and -1 for MISHA’s defense. Ratman’s target number to hit was 14. He rolled a
19}
WHRRLSNAP! Ratman’s tail hit Black Orchid. It was a solid
hit. Black Orchid fought hard against the entropy effects that was trying to
shut her body down into statis. She sighed a sigh of relief when she was
successful.
{GM Note: Ratman had a -6 for attacking 3 targets
and -1 for Black Orchid defense, No Invisibility bonus since Ratman’s
heightened sense of smell was able to perceive her. Ratman’s target number to
hit was 14. He rolled a 1. His second roll was a 3. A critical hit. The roll
was a solid hit. Ratman gained a bonus 3 to add to the save modifier. Black
Orchid’s EN save is 13. Ratman’s modifier with +3 bonus is 11. Black Orchid can
roll with 6 power points to add to the target. Black Orchid’s target is 8. She rolled
a 1. She was successful her save.}
WHRRLSNAP! Ratman’s tail hit Patty Plus, getting around
her shield. She fought hard against the entropy effects that was trying to shut
her body down into statis. Patty failed falling to the floor unconscious.
{GM Note Ratman had a -6 for attacking 3 targets and
-5 for Patty’s defense, Ratman’s target number to hit was 10. He rolled a 7. Patty
Plus’s EN save is 11. Ratman’s modifier is 8. Patty Plus can roll with 4 power
points to add to the target. Patty’s target is 7. She rolled a 19. She was failed
her save.}
Ratman moved toward the stairway door. M.I.S.H.A tried to stop him, but
Ratman slipped passed him.
{GM Note: Ratman attempted to move through MISHA’s zone of control. Ratman
started with a base of 10. He added his physical defense bonus of 5 and
subtracted MISHA’s physical defense of 1. Ratman’s target number was 14. He
rolled a 1. Ratman could move to next square he wanted to}
Ratman moved toward the front of the stairway door, but he was stopped
by an invisible force.
{GM Note: Ratman attempted to move through Black Orchid’s zone of
control. Ratman started with a base of 10. He added his physical defense bonus
of 5 and subtracted Black Orchid’s physical defense of 1. Ratman’s target
number was 14. He rolled a 16. Ratman had to stay in the square he was in}
[ 0] StrikeForce’s attempt to regain
consciousness failed.
{GM Note: StrikeForce
target number was 13. Since he failed the prior Save a -12 is applied. The new
target number is 1. StrikeForce rolled a 20. The End Save failed}
[ 0] Patty’s attempt to regain consciousness
failed.
{GM Note: Patty Plus
target number was 11. Since he failed the prior Save a -12 is applied. The new
target number is 1 because a 1 is always a success. Patty rolled a 4. The End
Save failed}
[ 0] Chrysalis’ attempt to escape paralysis
failed.

I'm in for the
convention, I think I may talk to Angela and see about staying at the
hotel. The boys would like the pool
option for downtime, and it's a trip to go back and forth to McKinney. It looks like Jeff will be there, so it'd be
cool if we could play together in a game with him again!
For my turn, I
believe Adamas can fly faster than Annihilator, but he's got the advantage in
turns... I'm not sure how that works. If
Adamas can catch him, he'll do that, as I'm running low on PP, I won't push
it. But getting in front of him, I'd
like to hit him as many times as I can with Autofire, I think that's my best
bet.

Yeah, Texas is
probably a little too far for me 😂
Hope you guys, who
go, have fun, send photos!

Dr Wildman will
continue to dominate the zone of control as best he can to prevent the craft from
affecting a successful take off. To maximize this he will attempt to land on
the nose and use his wings to block any visuals the pilot may have. Assuming it
is a glass screen and he can see in, he will attempt to use his 'Chain of
Command' on the pilot - I think it's Iron Maiden.
If successful he will
command her to land the craft.
Let me know if you
need any more detail.
In other business -
how good was Spiderman? And I am now so ready for the Multiverse of Madness and
Moon Knight (despite the dark & twisted angle - see below)...and Black Adam
- it truly is a golden era of supermovies. Can't say I'm very excited about the
new Batman, I loved the last trilogy and I feel I'm going to be disappointed.
I'm def a 4 colour comic fan and this dark and twisted theme doesn't do it for
me...tried the Boys, nah!
Eternals was a
disappointment but for other reasons. It didn't make sense to me - the
Celestial egg was such a flawed idea!
Anyone seen the
Snyder cut? Did it improve the original JL?
Cheers
Steve

Hi all,
Texas sounds great,
but I'm trying to work Star Wars Celebration in CA and don't think I can get
away from family and work to swing the TX. Hopefully in the future!
Steve,
Loved Spidermans new
one! I was not a fan of the previous, but this gave closure to that. The
Multi-verse seems to remain a fix all in the movie house as well as in the
comics.
Dr. Strange I've
always been a fan of. I never really collected him back in the day but really
love his charecter and what he brings to the MCU.
Moon Knight. REALLY
loved his character. I thought he was "knock off" of Batman
originally, yet I'm ok with that. His character (characters?) have developed on
their own path. There has been so much of the emulating of charecter types back and forth between DC
and MARVEL, but by doing so I think they've created the "Architype"
mold for certain heros and team formations. I was never the biggest fan of
Batman , or DC in general, although I can totally appreciate it for what it is.
Anyhoo, I very much
hope Moon Knight is done well.
Fingers crossed!

Tom, nice GMing!
"Dr Wildman
missing the aircraft isn’t very likely so instead I used the flavor text of an
insignificant
blow that did no
damage.}"
Love this from Black
Orchid:
"After a hurling
a non-CCA approved epithet"
And this was classic
as well:
Erdbeben began to
realize that they were likely not going to concede to this authority as a duly
deputized member of the Crusaders
GAME:
If Patty would
realize something is going down in the hallway she just rounded the corner
from, she will turn around and go check it out up to and including attacking
the nearest Destroyer if possible.
If not, she will
continue heading for the commotion from the hangar.
Essentially, she
wants to be useful in the nearest place that needs her help. If there is an
opportunity to fight when she arrives, she will.
NORTH TEXAS RPG CON:
Yes, I am planning on
being there! It's a really nice con, smaller and more intimatate but with big
names. It would be great to game with Tom and Co. in person, but if that
doesn't work out I definitely want to meet anyone from this group that will be
there in person.
My plans before
hearing Tom was going were to get as much Tekumel gaming in as I could, but
will definitely do V&V if I can!!
MOVIES:
Spider-Man No Way
Home was a lot of fun IMO. Not my favorite superhero or even Spider-Man movie,
but very much worth watching especially if you are a Spidey movie fan all the
way back to the first Raimi flick.
Eternals was a decent
action / superhero movie. I enjoyed it more than I expected based on word of
mouth but I would say it is solidly average. I was disappointed it didn't feel
more "Kirbyish" given he created the Eternals and his massive
influence on superhero comics in general.
The Justice League
Snyder Cut is amazing in my opinion. Joss Whedon's theatrical version is a
brighter, popcorn superhero movie. The Snyder Cut is deeper and engaging, and
this from someone who is not the biggest fan of the Snyder take on the DC
universe. It's 4 hours but didn't feel like it, I wanted more when it ended.
Sort of the same way I thought the theatrical cut of Batman V Superman was weak
and uneven, while the Ultimate Edition (director's cut, essentially) was very
enjoyable.
I dee a pretty deep
five of the Snyder Cut on my podcast:

Here's the youtube
version (same thing, just audio but on YouTube for convenience's sake)
