The Wraith: SHILLELAGH - Issue 11

Location: The rooftops of the Foundry at 10pm

The Wraith had the Warlord of the Shamrocks street gang in a sleeper hold. She twisted her lithe body until she had enough leverage to break free from the hold. Shillelagh backed away from the dark teleporter prepared to block his attack.

The Wraith teleported behind her. He grabbed her in the sleeper hold again.  The evergreen beauty strained and twisted but couldn’t break free. David reinforced his sleeper hold with his TK. He held it on Shillelagh until she passed out.

Once that's done he took her club and teleported to the nearest public phone and called the cops.  "Officer, Officer!!  There's some sort of fight going on at 2501 Twisted Vine lane!  I think some of those Shamrock hoodlums are involved!!  Come quickly!!"

He watched the hideout from a rooftop.  When he heard sirens coming he'll teleported Shillelagh in, dropped her in the greenhouse and immediately teleported back out and watched what happens next.

Megalopolis’ finest arrived with 5 patrol cars at the greenhouse.  They quickly captured the remaining Shamrock gang members. They didn’t have much fight left in them since their Meta Warlord was defeated.  The lead officer was questioning on the gang members on where the money and 2 known members were.  The Shamrock refused to talk.  The officer reminded him that they had found enough stolen items that they were all going to jail and it wouldn’t be juvie this time.  The banger still refused to talk.  In disgust, the officer cuffed him and put him in the back of the patrol car.

As the officer when back into the greenhouse, the Shamrock punk yelled out the window “You will never get me to talk to you!”

“I bet you will talk to me.”  The young hood jumped up, hitting his head on the ceiling of the car.  He looked in terror The Wraith. He didn’t know what The Wraith was but he was smart enough to figure out that this was who had beaten his Warlord. The gang member nodded his head yes and quickly spilled out that he knew.

The 2 missing Shamrocks took the money to the Organizer in Center City.  He provide protection from the crime organizations like InterCrime, BAD, CRIME, Tarotmasters, and VILE.  He provided money laundering services as well. The hood knew the location of the meeting and provided it as well. It was too far for The Wraith to teleport there.  He went home. He picked out a pair of sweat pants and a hoodie to wear over his costume.  He put his cape into a duffle back. He drove his car to Center City. There was a slim chance he could arrive before the Organizer left.

He drove through Center City.  He saw 3 patrol cars following a college student on a motorcycle. Half way through Center City, the patrol cars passed bike rider.

WHAM! The last patrol car was hit by a garbage truck. David hit the brakes. His car slammed into the garbage truck.  With a well chosen curse, David teleported to the roof on the nearest building. He changed into The Wraith. The garbage truck had been driving too fast for this time of night. There was more going on than what it appeared to be.

WHAM! The first patrol car was hit by an ice cream truck.

VROOM! The middle patrol car swerved around the first patrol car’s wreck.  It sped away into the night.

David was positioned on the rooftop where he can see both accidents but hide himself from view.

GM Note:
The Wraith has entered the Crusher Crimewave storyline.  He will be able to quickly tell in the next issue that the driver of the garbage truck is a Supervillain (Meta). He appears to be strong and the trash around him is moving on its own.  He will not be able to tell if the driver of the Ice Cream truck is a Meta he will see the driver remove a syringe from his coin dispenser (a fake one) and inject it into the neck of one of the policeman.

If The Wraith decides to leave that is fine but be aware this is one of the few opportunities for all the Street Patrol characters to meet each other.

I am making a rule change. I have been looking at what takes the most time for putting these together.  What takes the longest is figuring out what the second action for PCs would be that make sense after everyone’s first set of actions as well as how to split up their movement.  Most of the time I have been allowing full movement on both actions especially for powers which use movement as their cost.

The remove this problem, I am not shortening the turn to 10 seconds, so everyone gets one action per turn.  This will make playing out the turns easier for figuring the action and how to use the movement correctly.  I am introducing a new House rule to compensate for the change.

Dual Attacks: Any character with Agility of 15 or higher can attack twice in one action without it counting as a multiple attack.  A Dual Attack has a cost of PR=2.  This is represented as punches with both hands, firing power blasts from two sources (hands, eyes, etc) or firing at a more accelerated pace than usual (two arrows from a single bow). Movement cannot be used in-between Dual Attacks so the intended targets have to be in range when the Dual Attack is made.  A player will have to state in his turn that he is making a Dual Attack otherwise a Single Attack will be assumed.

< Due Date: July 27th, Actions, Goal, Replies>

David will immediately reinforce his sleeper hold with his TK, holding it on Shillelagh until she passes out.

Once that's done he'll take her club and teleport to the nearest public phone (or his own payphone, if necessary) and call the cops.  "Officer, Officer!!  There's some sort of fight going on at (address of the hideout)!  I think some of those Shamrock hoodlums are involved!!  Come quickly!!"

He'll then watch the hideout from a rooftop.  When he hear sirens coming he'll teleport Shillelagh in, drop her in the greenhouse and immediately teleport back out and watch what happens next.

Patrolling the streets,

Greg
