The Wraith: Picking off Shamrocks - Issue 4

The Wraith is dealing with a local gang running an extortion racket on the small businesses in the Winthrope Station area known as “Dead End Point”.  He has engaged three members of the Shamrocks who have been extorting money from the shop owner.

The Wraith uses his telekinesis to hurl cans of Hawaiian Punch at one gang member knocking him out.  He then shatters all the light bulbs in the store except for the light illuminating the grocery store owner. With the store in darkness, the Wraith teleports into the building behind both of the still standing gang members. [GM note: The Wraith invisibility bonus is +2 to hit / -2 to be hit].

The two Shamrocks are terrified.  They stare out the windows trying to find who has attacked. Lucky, the leader, says “Sean, I can’t see anyone.  Keep watching the streets and I will check the back room.” When Lucky turns his back on Sean and looks toward the back door way, The Wraith makes his more.

Slowly he concentrates his mind, pulses of force start to swirl around his hand.  When he is completely focused, The Wraith looks up.  He moves quietly behind Sean. He unleashes a palm strike with a force of telekinetic power with it. KRZT!! Sean is overwhelmed by the surprising blow. He is launched forward of this feet and through the window he was watching.

THUD! The Shamrock gangbanger lands on the sidewalk and lies unconscious.

Sean! Lucky runs back to where his gang member has been standing.  He swings his chain wildly trying to hit something, anything. “C’mon, I know someone is here.  Show yourself.”  Seeing an opportunity the store owner turns and runs into the store room. Lucky pauses for moment distracted by the fleeing store owner.  That was all the opportunity The Wraith need.

Once more summoning his telekinetic force, he hits the Shamrock leader in the chest with a palm strike.  The Wraith can tell that he is tiring, this strike was weaker than the first (GM Note: Telekinetic carrier attack was 1d4 because of prior usage of telekinetic carrying capacity)

KRZT! The strike is strong enough.  It knocks Lucky out. Sending him flying across the room and landing against the wall with a thud.

David carefully creeps forward, behind the the two Gaelic gangsters...and delivers a palm strike squarely to Sean's back.
Except it's more than a palm strike. The Wraith is actually concentrating his telekinetic force into the area where his palm would be striking, hoping to send the thug flying across the room, smashing him through into a wall or through the window (depending on exactly where he was standing at the time).
The Wraith will then step back as Lucky undoubtedly spins around. He hopes to make it back into the shadows, thus becoming effectively invisible again. But even if he doesn't, fortunately, Lucky is wielding a chain. A chain has a horrific "speed factor," as it's called in D & D--it will presumably take him a few seconds to get it spinning around. David will take those few seconds to telekinetically "grab" the chain and make it wrap around the thugs head. Painfully.
Let me know if you need more. And question for my possible next move, or just for future reference: Can David teleport and carry a passenger with him?
Thanks. Enjoying the game tremendously.
Patrolling the streets,
Greg
