Phantom: By the Numbers - Issue 4

The Sons of James are a new gang in Megalopolis and tonight will be their last.  Tonight they received a visit from the Phantom.

As Dallas tries desperately to call out to his fellow Sons of James members, Phantom puts an end to that immediately by dropping two more rounds into the already wounded gang member. At the same time he brings his other pistol to bear on the stunned gang-banger Lester and squeezes off two rounds at him as well.

On the other side of the house, Hoss is bored.  How is he going to prove he can be a banger if all they have him do is open the front door for guests? He listens intensely to the noises in the house.  He is sure he is missing all the fun.  He thinks he hears a fight break out in the back of the house. He is excited.  He loves to watch Dallas fight.  Maybe if he hurries he can help out and show off his skills.

He runs in the front door barely noticing that Carmon runs by him.  She is heading in the opposite direction, out of the house. Hoss sees that the guests are getting riotous. They are taking chairs and busting out the windows.  This will be a fight to remember, he thinks.  He rounds the main entry way and heads into the long hallway.

He stops short.  Something is wrong. He sees a man in white firing two automatic pistols. Candace and the ‘lone gambler’ are running toward the back door. Where is Dallas? He will take care of this.  Looking down at the man in white’s feet he sees a pool of blood coming into the doorway from the side where Dallas’ table is.  With shock and fear, he realizes what has happened to Dallas.  To stun to move, he looks up and watches as this man holsters his pistols.  He removes his assault rifle from his shoulder.  The white demon moves out of the doorway, using the wall for protection.  He raises his assault rifle aiming down the hallway.  Hoss’ last thought is “he’s aiming at me” as three rounds are fired.

The look in his eyes let’s all that can see him know that he takes no pleasure in what he does, nor does he feel any remorse. He is a weapon of war, an instrument of swift and brutal justice, and a man whose life has been replaced with an empty existence. He salutes no flag, honors no leader, and at the end of the day answers to no one but himself. He is the Phantom . . .

. . . and I looked, and there before me was a pale horse: and its rider's name was Death, and Hell followed closely behind him.

- Revelations 6:8

* As consciousness slips away from Dallas and Lester and their bodies slump to the floor, Phantom puts both his pistols back into their holsters and quickly draws his assault weapon. With the back room of the house secured, he ready’s himself to advance through the house. He thinks to himself, “Room to room . . . just like the old days . . . keep it simple and this should go by the numbers.”

* ( OOC – this assumes that he hits – if he doesn’t then he’ll fire another tow rounds into who ever he missed )

> PHANTOM’S GOAL(S)<

Phantom is looking to ‘lock down’ and secure that back room. While he seems to be only attacking the gang members, he has absolutely no qualms about attacking any of the patrons or hostesses if they appear to pose a threat to him. He wants to wipe out that house and he wants that back room as his fallback position should the need arise. He wants that back room cleared.

> PHANTOM’S OOC RESPONSE<

After Phantom takes out Dallas and Lester ( assuming that he hits and that they both drop ) he’ll pull out his P90 and set up at the end of the nearby corridor ( using the wall as cover of course ). He’s assuming that at least one of the other gang members will be coming down it sometime VERY soon and he’ll dump a three round burst into them once they come into sight.

Of course all of this assumes that none of the hostesses or patrons are ‘feel’n froggy’ and ‘look’n to get involved’ – the very first sign that Phantom catches of this kind of behavior, he’ll drop the individual a.s.a.p. – no hesitation – no questions asked.
