Crusade: Issue 86 - Intercepted!

Earlier:

"Thank you, Demy, about the promotion. As to your heroes, I know what you mean. I believe some of my 'heroes' may have been responsible for the explosion that killed several of my friends and gave me my powers. But we do the best with what we have. and when we have friends, we have a lot. You've got this and when we hit them with everything we've got, they won't know what hit them." The Black Orchid breaks a small smile and hopes that she's handling this part of being a leader better than she thinks she is. "By the way, can Misha change forms, becoming say, a great flying bear for example? I haven't had much chance to study Misha, and I would never do it without your consent, but there may be more to your friend than meets the eye. When we are through this, can I take a closer look at him?"

Now”

15 miles from the Island, Adamas noticed several small cone-like objects rising from beneath the water. They were camouflaged to appear as underwater land masses. Hatches opened from them launching flying Cyberions {Skyberions}.

The robots spread opens wings from their back as they were launched skyward. There were six of them and they were heading toward the New Crusaders.

Manta-Man turned the Mini-Sub toward the island. Since he was a decoy, he didn’t attempt to use any stealth. Hopefully he will divert the Island’s attention toward him and not the aircraft.

 Watching the sonar, he saw 3 objects heading his way. From the way they were heading directly toward him he was sure they weren’t fish. He reached for the controls and prepared for what was about to happen.

The 3 Swimming Cyberions {Seaberions} converged on the Mini-Sub.

The Mini-Sub didn’t slow down. When it reached ramming speed, it turned toward the center Seaberion. Manta-Man couldn’t tell if the Seaberion wasn’t able to recognize the danger or if it didn’t care.

 [6] Behind the reef of large corral and rocks, Manta-Man hid hoping it hid him from their sonar. Using the remote controls Manta-Man rammed the Mini-Sub into the center most of the three Seaberions

 WHOM!! The Mini-Sub rammed the watery robot. Its armor protected the Seaberion, and the robot absorbed the rest of the blow without taking internal damage.

 {GM Note: Manta-Man needed a 7 or less to hit, rolled a 2. The rammed resulted in 14 damage points. Armor blocked 6 points of damage. The remaining 8 points of damage were rolled with.}

 Manta-Man pressed the autodestruct code into the remote.

 KABWHOOM!! The Mini-Sub exploded. All 3 of the Seaberions were caught in the explosion, none were able to avoid it.

 {GM Note: The explosion’s area was too large for the Seaberions to attempt to move out of. I decided not to roll it. Let the damage dice decide the situation here and now.}

 The rammed Seaberion was caught in the heart of the explosion. The blast wave ripped through the armor of the watery robot. Its power blast device was violently ripped from the front of its chest and its flight device was damaged to the point it was no longer functioning as the blast knocked it back 100 feet. Unable to attack, it turned and swam back to base.

 {GM Note: The Seaberion uses the Robot power package from the War Heroes: WWII supplement. This package included the Unliving power which states for every hit point damage there is a 1 in 20 (5%) chance that an ability will be lost. The explosion caused 35 points of damage. Armor protected 5 points. The Seaberion rolled with 7 points of damage. This leaves 23 points of damage to Hit Points. I didn’t roll for the first device since it was greater than 20, I think it is unfair to remove 19 points for the first device and allow an automatic fail on a 20. Instead, I removed 20 for the first ability. I rolled the power blast device. The remaining 3 points of damage were rolled, the roll was a 2. The flight device was destroyed. It could still swim but its movement would be restricted once it is back at the island. Its programming told the Seaberion to return to base for repairs.}

 The Seaberion to the left of the Mini-Sub was caught in the explosion. The blast wave ripped through the armor of the watery robot. Its systems were knocked offline. The Seaberion’s lens stopped glowing as the blast pushed the Seaberion 130 feet away from the corral and rock reef. The robot shut down, sinking to the floor of the ocean.

 {GM Note: The Seaberion uses the Robot power package from the War Heroes: WWII supplement. This package included the Unliving power which besides losing abilities has reduced self-repair capability. The Seaberion has no self-repair capability at all. The explosion caused 44 points of damage. Armor protected 5 points. The Seaberion rolled with 8 points of damage. This leaves 31 points of damage to Hit Points. This eliminated all the Seaberion’s Hit Points. Since the watery robot could not self-repair, I didn’t bother rolling for abilities lost since it will not start functioning until it is retrieved and repaired at the base.}

 The Seaberion to the right of the Mini-Sub was caught in the explosion. The blast wave ripped through the armor of the watery robot. Its limbs were damaged preventing them from functioning. This eliminated the Seaberion’s ability to swim. It was pushed 50 feet away and started to slowly sink to the bottom of the ocean. Its sonar was still scanning for hostile targets to fire its power blast at.

 {GM Note: The Seaberion uses the Robot power package from the War Heroes: WWII supplement. This package included the Unliving power which states for every hit point damage there is a 1 in 20 (5%) chance that an ability will be lost. The explosion caused 29 points of damage. Armor protected 5 points. The Seaberion rolled with 8 points of damage. This leaves 16 points of damage to Hit Points. The 16 points of damage were rolled, the roll was a 12. The swimming device was destroyed. It could still fire its power blast; The Seaberion will be assigned a -3 to reflect that a wild shot attempt was being made since it couldn’t position itself with the best possible aim}

 Manta-Man kept completely still as he hid. He had to stay where he was until the last Seaberion sinks out of sonar range.

 William could sense something was approaching. The sand around the reef was stirred his sonar sensed something big.

With a mystic sweep of a scaled arm and some deft dancing of his digits he evoked the ‘beast form’ spell once more - transforming from lagoon monster to…clown fish!

 Dr Nemo-man darted into the coral as the predatory form of a Galeocerdo Cuvier, a tiger shark, parted the curtain of swirling sea debris like a sleek torpedo. Seizing the moment William channeled a mystic pulse through the Amulet of Charming and…” got him” he thought triumphantly. ‘Now that’s some big game fishing, right there!’

 {GM Note: Used Amulet of Charming. 2 charges remain. I have noted the remaining charges in the comments section with (x) next to Controlled}

 [5] ‘Bruce’, the newly christened tiger shark was now under his control. ‘Show me the way to the land of the metal men’ he commanded, and Bruce changed course. William dispelled the Clown fish form, reverting back to the Creature form imprinted upon his Helm of the Chimera. This form would give him the speed to keep up with Bruce. “Just keep swimming“, he sang to himself as Bruce led the way.

 {GM Note: Use Helm of Chimera required Dr. Wildman’s action this turn. Last turn Dr. Wildman used his action to charm Bruce and all his movement to change into the Clown Fish. This was Dr. Wildman’s 3rd transformation. He has 9 charges left. I have noted the remaining charges in the comments section with (x) next to Form.}

 Dr. Wildman communicates to the charmed shark, "INTERVENTION!" "Remember mate, fish-based superheroes are friends, not food!"

 Dr. Wildman felt the ripple through the waves from an underwater explosion. He can’t tell what exploded.

 10 miles from the Island the distance had been closed between the New Crusaders and the Patrols. Black Orchid looked over at her CHESS Skycycle, wondering if she should try to reduce the odds from 3 to 1 to 2 to 1.

 {GM Note: I will be using the Vehicle rules for movement so there will be turning restrictions. Adamas must move 2 squares before he can turn, and the aircraft must move 3 squares before it can turn. I have changed my mind. I am now using the dogfighting rules as it is intended for none map based combat}.

"Well, this is fun. Who had flying winged robots on their superhero bingo card?" Patty took in the developing situation, then studied her surroundings to see if there was any opportunity to be useful.

 Demy sees Patty come too now that her patrol is over and tries to follow suit with her.

 "This thing have ball or tail gunner spot to shoot from? NO, maybe not....?" Demy says half-jokingly followed by, "OH, how 'bout this?". He points up to the upper side of the cabin. "This does open up by any chance, does it? Like, maybe I could summon M.I.S.H.A. and fire his canon like those side gunners in the old B-17's?".

 Getting a sideways glance from those that may have been listening, he waits for some direction from Strike to either prepare to engage the robots somehow OR get buckled up for some evasive maneuvers.

 James knew that things were starting to heat up based on the fact that more talking had occurred in the last ten minutes than over the course of the entire flight.

 Demy starts to take in his surroundings and options as the situation evolves. His focus and concentration zeroing in on his teammates voices and the alarms of radar and targeting systems.

 He soon realized that the thought of summoning M.I.S.H.A. now in the confined space of the cabin seemed fruitless even though he would feel more comfortable having the great beast near.  A quick analysis of the bay door made Demy reason that having M.I.S.H.A. attempt to fire blindly at targets while hanging on precariously to the fuselage was far from pragmatic and possibly detrimental. A quick thought of M.I.S.H.A. losing its grip and falling into the ocean this far out from the island seemed far from pragmatic.

 [3] Noticing the robots approaching, the cyborg Crusader replies to those in the aircraft, and through the comm gear. "Hang tight team, I'm going to try and lose these metal menaces."

 {GM Note: Full Defense Stance +6 to Defense and no action this turn.}

 Demy replies, "I feel the need. The need for SPEED!".

 Hearing Strike's warning we were going into high-speed maneuvers settled it:  Demy will take a quick moment to secure his and any other lose gear then get himself buckled in. He will be preparing to summon M.I.S.H.A. on the island immediately upon coming within range of doing so to provide ground and air defense support.

 Hearing about the approaching 'bogeys' as they call them, he started looking for a safe corner in which to hide. However, hearing Demy talking about what actions he could take and how to best help out the situation gave Erdbeben some confidence.

 "I don't have much combat experience, but if this team has accepted me, I'm not going to hide and let them down", he thought to himself.

 "Erdbeben. You'll do fine. You'll know when you need to do more than just fire support." Again, The Black Orchid smiled, almost believing she was actually encouraging.

 Seeing the hatches that Demy was looking at, Erdbeben realized he could use them as well. He still needed to overcome his fear, though. If the plan went down for any reason, he wasn't sure he'd be able to swim to save his own life, let alone help anybody else.

 Silently {GM Note: Sorry, I forgot I had NPCs on board, so I didn’t roleplay them with you last turn} Enforcer, Powercell, and Blizzard moved to join Erdbeden. Enforcer signaled to Blizzard to be quiet before the Snowbound Hero could start making jokes to relieve the tension. Using Crusader hand signals, he assigned the order in which the four of them would fire from the two side hatches. Erdbeben struggled for a second or two but soon understood what Enforcer was communicating.

 Black Orchid said, "Adamas, do you want to visually 'go it alone, so to speak'? I think I can make the whole craft invisible, but it might be a strain, and it might make you even more of a target. Strikeforce, would that improve your evasion tactics enough to give a definitive advantage? If you just need more moving bodies, I'd be happy to drop out on an invisible cycle and start causing havoc. that shouldn't strain my invisibility too much." The Black Orchid respected the combat skills of her companions and wanted to give them the space to plan to the best of their abilities.

 "Patty, you can also become invisible, correct? Maybe one or both of us could take cycles and harass the bad guys."

 Patty looked up from buckling herself in. "My astral form can turn invisible, but I can't manipulate something like a sky cycle when I'm astral. Sorry!"

 Knowing she didn't have any ranged powers, Patty continued securing herself and staying out of the way of those still moving around.

 "Listen team, we've got a hot shot pilot, a cool aircraft, and Adamas is our wingman. Maybe we should leave those portals closed so the ship is more maneuverable and let Adamas take care of the bogeys we can't shake?"

 As Adamas streaks toward the robots, he responds, "I'll try to keep them away from the aircraft, that's my priority until all of you are safe.  Whatever you can do to that end, works for me."

 StrikeForce replies to Adamas. "Thanks, big guy, I will take us to the island so that the team can help you so that you don't have to fight them all by yourself."

 Enforcer disagreed with Adamas and StrikeForce’s plan. “Adamas, we don’t know what ordinance the robots are packing. We can’t expect all of them to chase Adamas instead of the aircraft. We don’t know what their program protocols are, but it can’t be to abandon one of the intruders if they split up and chase only one. My bet is they would split with 3 chasing one target and 2 chasing the other.”

 “Adamas protect the aircraft first then attack after we know what we are dealing with. When Strikeforce takes a hard turn to get us outside the pincher move the robots are attempting we will fire from here. Protect us tell first then tear into them!”

 Enforcer signaled to the others, NOW!

 [3] As for the chaos that was about to commence, Erdbeben hunkered down near the closest hatch and attacked when a robot that came into view as they turned ...

 VARR! The first vibe blast missed the Skyberion.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Erdbeben needed a 12 or less to hit. Rolled a 14}

 VARR! The second vibe blast hit! The flying robot was damaged as the blast pierced its armor. It was still able to fly and fight.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Erdbeben needed a 12 or less to hit. Rolled a 1, the second roll was a 20. Normal hit. Erdbeben rolled 12 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 7 points. -2 Hit Points. The 2 points of damage for unliving, rolled a 6}

 [3] Blizzard fired a vibratory blast from the other portal at the same Skyberion.

 VARR! The vibe blast hit! The flying robot was damaged as the blast pierced its armor. It was still able to fly and fight.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Blizzard needed an 11 or less to hit. Rolled a 4. Blizzard did 12 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 7 points. -2 Hit Points. The 2 points of damage for unliving, rolled an 8}

 [3] Enforcer fired an explosive round at the same Skyberion. The 2 Skyberions flying wingman positions to it were close enough to be caught in the explosion.

 BANG! KABOOM! Enforcer hit the Skyberion. The round exploded into the Skyberion. The explosion pierced the armor damaging the robot. There were sparks coming from the robot. The Crusaders could tell it was experiencing device failure. It was still able to fly and fight.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Enforcer needed an 11 or less to hit. Rolled an 11. Enforcer did 14 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 6 points. -5 Hit Points. The 5 points of damage for unliving, rolled a 5. One of the Robots devices failed but it isn’t obvious what the failure was as it is an internal device}

 KABOOM! The explosion hit the left Skyberion wingman. The explosion pierced the armor damaging the robot. It was still able to fly and fight.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Enforcer did 14 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 7 points. -4 Hit Points. The 4 points of damage for unliving, rolled a 12. All abilities still function}

 KABOOM! The explosion hit the right Skyberion wingman. The explosion pierced the armor damaging the robot. It was still able to fly and fight.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Enforcer did 14 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 7 points. -4 Hit Points. The 4 points of damage for unliving, rolled an 11. All abilities still function}

 [3] Powercell moved to his portal. He fired his first electrical bolt at the same Skyberion.

 KKZZKTT! The electrical bolt struck the flying robot. In a glory of sparks, the robot short-circuited, plummeting to the ocean below.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It has 2 vulnerabilities to Electrical Abilities. 1st weakness is attraction, -2 to its defense against Electrical. The 2nd increases +4 to damage. Powercell needed 11 or less to hit. Rolled an 8. Powercell did 16 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 6 points. -7 Hit Points. This is more than half of the remaining Hit Points. The Skyberion’s systems are knocked offline. The earlier ability loss was its Pain Resistance device instead of needing 0 Hit Points to be knocked offline it only needed to lose more than half of existing Hit Points. The 7 points of damage for unliving, rolled a 19. No new abilities are lost}

 [3] Powercell fired his second electrical bolt at the right Skyberion wingman of the falling Skyberion.

 KKZZKTT! The electrical bolt struck the flying robot. The explosion pierced the armor damaging the robot. It was still able to fly and fight.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Powercell needed 11 or less to hit. Rolled an 8. Powercell did 13 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 7 points. -3 Hit Points. The 3 points of damage for unliving, rolled a 20. All abilities still function}

 The five remaining Skyberions rolled into turns chasing after the aircraft and Adamas.

 [3] Skyberion 6 {GM Note: Skyberion 4 was knocked offline} flew behind the aircraft and Adamas. One of its shoulder’s launchers open reviewing a pulse beam. It fired at the aircraft. Adamas swooped to intercept the pulse beam. His invulnerability fought off the effects of the beam. He was unaffected.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion fired a Siphon beam which I have heavily modified. It has the alternate damage type of electrical energy type instead of Entropy. It suppresses the ability only. It Damage was converted to Save on EN +4, It has Duration reduction usable on others. It reduces an hour’s worth of ability use.

 The Skyberion needed a 13 or less, rolled a 5. Adamas is providing Heavy Cover. On a 14 or less the beam hits Adamas instead, rolled an 8. Adamas must make as EN save against Energy. He has 11 EN Save plus 8 for Invulnerability, and plus 4 from the beam. Adamas needs a 23 or less. Only an automatic failure will cause to fail the save. Adamas rolled a 7. He made is Save roll}

 [3] Skyberion 5 flew behind the aircraft and Adamas. One of its shoulder’s launchers open reviewing a pulse beam. It fired at the aircraft. Adamas swooped to intercept the pulse beam. His invulnerability fought off the effects of the beam. He was unaffected.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion needed a 13 or less, rolled a 7. Adamas is providing Heavy Cover. On a 14 or less the beam hits Adamas instead, rolled a 1. Adamas must make as EN save against Energy. Adamas needs a 23 or less. Adamas rolled a 13. He made is Save roll}

 [3] Skyberion 3 flew behind the aircraft and Adamas. One of its shoulder’s launchers open reviewing a pulse beam. It fired at the aircraft. Adamas swooped to intercept the pulse beam. His invulnerability fought off the effects of the beam. He was unaffected.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion needed a 13 or less, rolled a 9. Adamas is providing Heavy Cover. On a 14 or less the beam hits Adamas instead, rolled a 3. Adamas must make as EN save against Energy. Adamas needs a 23 or less. Adamas rolled a 7. He made is Save roll}

 [3] Skyberion 2 flew behind the aircraft and Adamas. One of its shoulder’s launchers open reviewing a pulse beam. It fired at the aircraft. It missed.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion needed a 13 or less, rolled a 15. A miss.}

 [3] Skyberion 1 flew behind the aircraft and Adamas. One of its shoulder’s launchers open reviewing a pulse beam. It fired at the aircraft. Adamas swooped to intercept the pulse beam. His invulnerability failed and he wasn’t able to fight off the effects of the beam. He momentarily blacked out. When he came to, he was falling from the sky.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion needed a 13 or less, rolled a 5. Adamas is providing Heavy Cover. On a 14 or less the beam hits Adamas instead, rolled a 6. Adamas must make as EN save against Energy. Adamas needs a 23 or less. Adamas rolled a 20. Automatic failure. He did not make his Save roll. He lost one hour of flight}

 [3] Adamas shook his head. He focused on flying. He stopped descending and started moving toward the aircraft and Skyberions. He pushed his speed. It was a short distance so while he was still flying slower than the aircraft and Skyberions he was able to catch them.

 {GM Note: -1 power for Flight for 1 hour. -2 power to push his speed}

 He poured on the speed and used auto-fire to try to hit already damaged Skyberion, not expecting to take it out but to soften it up.

 ZZWWT!! Adamas’ power blast hit Skyberion 6. Its armor was pierced but it was still able to fly and fight.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Adamas needed a 15 or less to hit, rolled a 14. Adamas did 10 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 6 points. -1 Hit Point. The 1 points of damage for unliving, rolled a 4. All abilities still function}

 ZZWWT!! Adamas’ power blast hit Skyberion 6. Its armor was pierced but it was still able to fly and fight.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Adamas needed a 15 or less to hit, rolled an 11. Adamas did 9 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 5 points. -1 Hit Point. The 1 points of damage for unliving, rolled an 11. All abilities still function}

 ZZWWT!! Adamas’ power blast hit Skyberion 6. Its armor was pierced but it was still able to fly and fight.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Adamas needed a 15 or less to hit, rolled a 14. Adamas did 5 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 2 points}

 ZZWWT!! Adamas’ power blast hit Skyberion 6. The blast missed.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Adamas needed a 15 or less to hit, rolled a 20. The second roll was a 4. Normal miss}

 ZZWWT!! Adamas’ power blast hit Skyberion 6. Its armor was pierced but it was still able to fly and fight.

 {GM Note: The Skyberion has the same Robot abilities package. It is unliving. Adamas needed a 15 or less to hit, rolled a 2. Adamas did 9 points for damage. 3 points were stopped by Armor. The Skyberion rolled with 5 points. -1 Hit Point. The 1 points of damage for unliving, rolled an 4. All abilities still function}

 Adamas smashed into one of them as he did his flythrough.

 KABLAM! Adamas smashed into Skyberion 6 almost breaking in half. It sparked, it fizzled, it was shut down. Systems went offline. Skyberion 6 fell to the ocean below.

 GM Note: The Skyberion uses the Robot power package from the War Heroes: WWII supplement. This package included the Unliving power which besides losing abilities has reduced self-repair capability. The Skyberion has no self-repair capability at all. Adamas needed a 10 or less to hit, rolled a 9. Adamas did 24 points of damage. Armor protected 3 points. The Skyberion rolled with 4 points of damage. This leaves 17 points of damage to Hit Points. This eliminated all the Skyberion’s Hit Points. Since the watery robot could not self-repair, I didn’t bother rolling for abilities lost since it will not start functioning until it is retrieved and repaired at the base.

 Adamas received 24 points of damage too because he rammed the Skyberion. His Invulnerability provided 18 points of protection. He rolled with the remaining 6 points of damage. He lost 0 Hit Points.}

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, business is about to pick up.

Jamey

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

 OOC: Awesome! - so much potential!

How far are Bruce and Dr Nemo-man from Manta Man and the sub? Just in case there needs to be an: "INTERVENTION!" "Remember mate, fish-based superheroes are friends, not food!"

Also in terms of geography, how far from the island are we as well? If I can't discern where Manta-Man and the sub are we will continue to the island  - "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..."

Steve

---------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: Tom, what are the offensive and defensive capabilities of the Crusader aircraft? I am wondering if StrikeForce will be able to anything other than fly defensively.

Jamey

----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well, this is fun. Who had flying winged robots on their superhero bingo card?" Patty took in the developing situation, then studied her surroundings to see if there was any opportunity to be useful.

---

OOC: Are there any weapons systems on the aircraft she could man? Or any free weapons like rifles or etc stored anywhere?

If she can be useful, Patty will do what she can. Otherwise, she'll buckle up and prepare for a possible crash landing.

Shane

---------------------------------------------------------------------

 Demy sees Patty come too now that her patrol is over and tries to follow suit with her.

"This thing have ball or tail gunner spot to shoot from? NO, maybe not....?" Demy says half jokingly followed by, "OH, how 'bout this?". He points up to the upper side of the cabin. "This does ope up by any chance, does it? Like, maybe I could summon M.I.S.H.A. and fire his canon like those side gunners in the old B-17's?".

Getting sideways glance from those that may have been listening, he waits for some direction from Strike to either prepare to engage the robots somehow, OR get buckled up for some evasive maneuvers.

Greg

--------------------------------------------------------------------

 Steve, Dr. Wildman is 5 miles from the Island and 5 miles from Manta-Man.

Jamey and Shane, the aircraft was modified so all your superpowers can be used through portals created for that purpose. Opening the portals will make aircraft harder to handle (-3 to Agility saves and dog-fighting maneuvers). The plane is flying low enough that there are no cabin pressure issues, so no environmental harm situations to contend with. No one asked for additional weapons, so none were provided.  This is not a military aircraft, so weapons are not in standard supply.

Greg, the plane was modified with a bottom hatch so a CHESS Skycycle can be dropped out of it (think of Black Widow dropping out the plane on her motorcycle in the Captain America movie). The hatch can be opened without dropping the Skycycle.  MISHA can climb out of the hatch using his claws to hang on and fire his weapon while he is outside the plane. Each turn he will have to roll against knockback based on the speed of the aircraft (currently half max speed). MISHA could try firing from a portal but because of overcrowding in the plane Demy won't be able to remain focused enough to sync up with MISHA. MISHA will get a -3 modifier since the weapon is on this back therefore restricting his ability to see the targets. The portal was designed with the human sight line along the human arm, not with the sight line being below the weapon.

Jamey, I need to know if you are going to change the current speed of the aircraft.

Tom

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Tom,

Unless someone on the team asks, I would want to maintain current speed to help to keep up evasive maneuvers. If that doesn't work, we may have to hit max speed to try and out run the robots. We may have to hope the big guy (Adamas) can help take them out.

Jamey

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ooc: thanks Tom for the info. That helps give context to things.

Ic: Demy starts to take in his surroundings and options as the situation evolves.

Have a great weekend all!

James knew that things were starting to heat up based on the fact that more talking has occurred in the last ten minutes than over the course of the entire flight.

Hearing about the approaching 'bogeys' as they call them, he started looking for a safe corner in which to hide. However, hearing Demy talking about what actions he could take and how to best help out the situation gave Erdbeben some confidence.

"I don't have much combat experience, but if this team has excepted me, I'm not going to hide and let them down", he thought to himself.

Seeing the hatches that Demy was looking at, Erdbeben realized he could use them as well. He still needed to overcome his fear, though. If the plan went down for any reason, he wasn't sure he'd be able to swim to save is own life, let alone help anybody else.

As for the chaos that was about to commence, he decided to hunker down near the closest hatch and attack any of the robots that came into view...

ACTION: Erdbeben will sit near the closest hatch and fire two vibration blasts as the first robot that comes into his view.

OOC: Greg, for some reason I imagine Demy referencing "Danger Zone" by Kenny Logging or the Top Gun movie.

DOH! Opportunity lost!!!!  So good, James.

That said, upon Strike, or anyone else saying something to the effect of, "Hold on, kids. We're going In hot". Demy will say, "I feel the need. The need for SPEED!".

Sorry, may be over played, but fitting.

Greg

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Greg, please call me Jamey.

Noticing the robots approaching, the cyborg Crusader replies to those in the aircraft, and through the comm gear. "Hang tight team, I'm going to try and lose these metal menaces."

Jamey

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Adamas will attempt to draw the robots away from the ship.  He'll pour on the speed and use auto-fire to try to hit as many as he can, not expecting to take them out, but to get their attention.  If he gets a second attack, he'll attempt to smash into one of them as he does his flyby.

If they continue or if they split up, he'll ignore any robots on himself, and increase the attacks on any targeting the plane.

Woohoo!

William could sense something was approaching. The sand around the reef was stirred his sonar sensed something big approaching.

‘Bruce’, the newly christened tiger shark was now under his control. ‘Show me the way to the land of the metal men’ he commanded, and Bruce changed course. William dispelled the Clown fish form, reverting back to the Creature form imprinted upon his Helm of the Chimera. This form would give him the speed to keep up with Bruce. “Just keep swimming “he sang to himself as Bruce led the way.

William will allow Bruce to lead and will transform into ‘Nemo-form’ if possible, to evade detection. If evasion fails and combat is inevitable, he will ‘armor up’, mystically toughening his scaled creature form and fight alongside Bruce. If he can get to the island undetected, he will cautiously surface and turn into a sea gull, take to the air and spy out the land. He will have Bruce patrol the nearby coast.

Now:

 "Adamas, do you want to visually 'go it alone, so to speak'? I think I can make the whole craft invisible, but it might be a strain, and it might make you even more of a target. Strikeforce, would that improve your evasion tactics enough to give a definitive advantage? If you just need more moving bodies, I'd be happy to drop out on an invisible cycle and start causing havoc. that shouldn't strain my invisibility too much." The Black Orchid respected the combat skills of her companions and wanted to give them the space to plan to the best of their abilities.

"Patty, you can also become invisible, correct? Maybe one or both of us could take cycles and harass the bad guys."

"Erdbeben. You'll do fine. You'll know when you need to do more than just fire support." Again, The Black Orchid smiled, almost believing she was actually encouraging.

[OOC: Tom, how many cycles are on the plane? Also, would expanding the invisibility require "pushing" the invisibility? I think she did it once before, but I think it was a technological solution and not a willpower solution]

As Adamas streaks toward the robots, he will respond, "I'll try to keep them away from the aircraft, that's my priority until all of you are safe.  Whatever you can do to that end, works for me."

Jon

----------------------------------------------------------------------

StrikeForce replies to Adamas. "Thanks, big guy, I will take us to the island so that the team can help you so that you don't have to fight them all by yourself."

Jamey

---------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: Whatever we end up doing, let's make sure to... Loggins it in the flight journal :P
