Location: Center City above Safeguard’s Armored Car Convoy
The Safeguard convoy made the transfer of the fake cloak from the safe to the armor car without incident. Adamas said good-bye to Jessica Anderson and informed the team he was leaving. He exited the front doors of the High Society Museum, taking to the sky. Quickly he flew above the convoy. He signaled to Skywatch he was in position. Adamas did not talk with her anymore.
The three armored cars and the lead car stay within a quarter mile of each other but always on different streets as they drove through Soiree Heights. They left the city without incident and entered Center City. Because the skyscrapers blocked sightlines and hindered communications the convoy confined themselves to the same street still maintaining the quarter mile separation. Armored vehicles driving around Center City was commonplace, even more so since the Crushers Crimewave started.
Adamas was in position to see all vehicles as once and respond to where he was needed. The density and material of the skyscrapers hindered his view as well. He had to focus on special locations for his newly acquired X-Ray vision to see beyond the outer 1/3 of offices next to the windows.
The traffic lights were synchronized to maximize the flow of traffic, so it was no surprise to the convoy when all four vehicles had to stop at the same time.
{GM Note: The following events all happened at the same time on the same phase, so when you are reading remember that Adamas is seeing this all occur as once. I have purposefully left the villain description vague because of Adamas’ cultural weakness; he would have a difficult time distinguishing the villains by uniforms since he does not watch “Capes”}
Bursting from a third story office is a man in a dark blue costume; it has lightning bolts down the length of the suit. The villain flew towards the car with Watchdog. ZZWSSTT! He fired an electrical bolt hitting Watchdog.
From across the street from the first armored car, a woman in golden armor jumped onto the hood of the vehicle. She had a staff which electricity arced from and her faceplate of her helmet look like the letter M. She struck her staff though the windshield in a vain attempt to strike Stronghold.
Out of a parking garage ramp ran six figures toward the second armored car. The fastest looked like a man in a rat costume with a steel tail. The ratman leaped into the air landing on the side of the cab. He lashed his tail into the window hitting Firewall in a whiplash attack. Firewall slumped down in the seat, paralyzed.
The largest man was as big as DarkStar. He wore blue swim trunks and nothing else. He ran to the side of the armor car. He ripped open a wide hole. The other four looked like mercenaries wearing security uniforms. The uniform was not like any here had seen before. The first of the four climbed into the back of the armored car. He opened the safe that had the isotope in it. He pulled out 3 bags and placed the isotope in one of them. The bag was made of materials that Adamas could not see through. He didn’t know if the bag was shielded for prevent the isotope from harming the carrier or to prevent superheroes with heightened senses from seeing in. Adamas figured it was both.
The mercenary with the bags tossed one each to the other three. The three mercenaries caught their bags and pulled the straps over their heads and shoulders. They ran back toward the car garage entrance beneath the skyscraper.
At the third armor car, an armored woman leaped onto the cab windshield. She smashed her fist through the glass and fired darts at Psi-pher. The darts impaled his neck and chest. Psi-pher fell over in the seat unconscious.
A man with flames from his feet came streaking out from the side of a skyscraper. He wore a large A on his torso and a white helmet.
BRRZZT!
Twin power blasts were fired from his hands. Both blast struck Skywatch knocking her from the sky. She crashed to the ground incapicated.
Adamas watch a silvery angel follow the man with the A. The angel appeared to be watching for any reinforcements which would come to Safeguards assistance. The angel had a sword and shield but they appeared to be a part of the angel, not separate items.
Watchdog called on his comm. unit. “I am under attack. I am returning fire; take evasion action Omega priority 3.” He fired his ice device at the flier.
SSRRRCCH!
A wave of ice fired from the Watchdog’s device hitting the electrical villain. He cried in pain but did not fall from the sky.
Stronghold raised his fist in anger, “Now it is my turn”
BRRZZT!
A power blast shot through the windshield hitting the golden armored woman. The armor withstood the blast. The Safeguard Officer is a panic fired his flame gun in the cab. Adamas watched the entire cab fill in flames. “Smitty watch where you are pointing that thing!” replied Stronghold.
In the second armored car, Murph fired his flame gun hitting the ratman. The ratman roll away from the shot without being hurt. “Is the best they can outfit you rent a cops with?” snarled the man in the rat costume.
In the third armored car, Richard attempted to hit the purple armored woman on the windshield. He made a good shot but the woman was too agile, expertly dodging the flames.
{GM Note: I saved Adamas’ action for next turn. He will have two actions next issue. His first action will be before anyone and the second on his normal phase. It will not cost 2 power points to take the second action. Adamas is full strength and full power.}
{None of your other teammates are getting this issue. You can communicate with them because sure to add them to the email or just email it to me and I will send them Adamas’ communication. If you have time this can be a fun role play opportunity for Adamas to try to describe what has happened instead of copying & pasting the issue and sending it to them.}
