The Wraith: Out Goes the Lights – Issue 3

The Wraith is dealing with a local gang running an extortion racket on the small businesses in the Winthrope Station area known as “Dead End Point”.  Three members of the Shamrocks have entered a local grocery store as the Wraith watches from the roof across the way.

The lead Shamrock calls out to the owner. “You are past due on your ‘Friends of Green’ association payments. Are you ready to catch up on your account or do we have to take it out in product?”

The owner sadly shakes his head no and looks to the floor.

As the Shamrock leader grabs the collar of the owner The Wraith makes his move …

Suddenly within the store four large cans of Hawaiian Punch fruit drink flies off the shelves, hitting the farthest Shamrock in the head.  He lets out a groan and falls to the ground unconscious. “Sean!” yells the Shamrock leader, “What just happened.”

“I don’t know, Lucky!” the other Shamrock stammers as he looks all around him. “Suddenly these cans are attacking Patrick.  He is knocked out cold!  I don’t see anybody”

Krak!! A light bulb bursts in a shower of glass on Sean’s head.  Sean ducks and pulls out his pistol.  A bulb bursts! Krak!  Then another and another bulb explodes. “How is this happening?” Lucky screams, “I don’t hear any gunshots.  What is making them explode?”

Sean [Gang Member 10] crouches’ in bewilderment. His side of the store is now without light.  He is attempting to look out the windows without being seen. “It has to be coming from outside, right Lucky?”

Lucky [Gang Member 9] is staring intently outside as well.  He has his chain ready and is completely ignoring the owner.  The owner is too scared to move as his eyes watch all the bulbs on his side of the store explode one by one.  The only working bulb is the one over his head.

With the store in darkness, the Wraith teleports into the building behind both of the still standing gang members. [GM note: The Wraith invisibility bonus is +2 to hit / -2 to be hit].

The Wraith is ready to strike...

He will target one of the thugs in the shop--one of them not threatening the shopkeeper.  He'll concentrate his telekinesis on something heavy on a shelf nearby, and telekinetically "throw" it at the Shamrock's head.  The idea is to knock the target out and create maximum confusion and disorientation among the others.  Did that thing just fall by itself?  Did somebody throw it?  But nobody's there!

If I have any movement left by the end of the round--or if you want to progress to the next--David will then use his TK to shatter lights in the shop, all except for any directly over the shopkeeper.  He wants to further unnerve and confuse these scum, as well as create plenty of shadow for when he teleports into the room.

Patrolling the streets,
