Crossover: Special Deliveries - Issue 5

Location: Stonehenge, England

In front and above the ancient mystical site a battle raged, it would determine whether the Earth continued to exist with freedom to grow and evolve or became the slave of the Domain. Heroes from all over Earth gathered to drive back the demon hordes. A special task force from Megalopolis was sent to stop the device being built in the Domain’s Vacuum Tower. The Device would siphon off the Earth’s energy to fully open the dimensional portal from the Domain to Earth’s dimension, allowing their full invasion force to enter.

A cult of supervillains worshipping one of the Domain’s leaders, Cr’tegorf, defended the Vacuum Tower. They are the Tarot Masters. Above Stonehenge the Tarot Master known as Chariot battled with Chat Noir, Phantom, Enforcer, Seeker and DarkStar. The Chariot consisted of Red Fury and her crew aboard the magical flying ship The Blackfire. Chat Noir and Seeker have been incapacitated. Task Force members, Space Racer, Cure, Skyhawk, who had turned to follow Cr’tegorf had just arrived.

Red Fury looked to the sky. "DarkStar isn’t below deck. I heard that WHOUMP sound he makes. I believe he is dropping onto the Blackfire. Skyhawk, Cure, Cindermaid, Space Racer blast him out of the Sky! Protect the Chariot!" she said.

Mary turned to Red Fury "Sorry Red but we don't orders from you. I am the voice of he who loves us. Space Racer you and Skyhawk go at and take down Magnus. I'll mop this up." Mary's words sound hard and cold. She then looked at Phantom and Enforcer “If I were you I'd call Big Blue for an evac." As she flew away she yelled to the ship's crew "Make them walk the plank!" As Mary headed into the ship's hold she took off her suit once again to poison the ship's crew.

Down below Shipmate #3 was quickly knocked out by the Latarium radiation.

Red Fury yelled to Space Racer and Skyhawk “Don’t listen to her. You can hear Cr’tegorf yourself. Hold your actions we will attack DarkStar together.

As Red Fury searched the sky to find DarkStar a battle raged below on the ground in front of Stonehenge where the task force had exited the coral.

Epsilon focused his mind. “This is for Earth” he said as he unleashed a TK bolt at Tower. The focused force of energy missed.

Lightning Fist swung his katana in a lotus pattern. He sliced into Terra-rizer with his blade. His victim showed little pain from the wound.

Flying above the battle Dynamo swooped around on Mother Superior unleashing an electrical bolt at her. The bolt missed.

Gale focused the wind around her. She buffeted Emerald with hurricane force winds but Emerald’s TK shield withstood the beating. “Ha, all you are; is an old windbag” Emerald smirked. Gale bellowed in rage, “You’ll regret saying that, Witch!”

Tomahawk yelled the warcry of his ancestors as he attacked with his magical tomahawk but missed hitting Terra-rizer.

Raven performed a barrel roll to rise above Tengu. He pummeled him with his fists. Tengu grunted in pain as his magical defenses failed him. Raven thanked his Indian ancestors for this aid.

Back on Chariot, Phantom focused on the two shipmates in front of him. The 'White Widow-maker' released his grip on his assault rifle and reached quickly for his two semi-automatic pistols. With cold-hearted killer instincts acting as his guide, the ' Vengeful Vigilante' aimed the pistols at the two shipmates' in front of him and squeezed off two rounds with each weapon. All the bullets hit Shipmate #8 and #11 in the head. They were grazing shots which barely hurt them. Both shipmates shocked off the blows and continued to fight.

On the ground, Fortress waved his staff as he chanted ancient druidic words calling the Earth to aid him. A column of ground shot up smashing into the Tarot Master’s Tower {editor note, not to be confused with the Domain’s Vacuum Tower}. Tower grunted in pain but continued to stand holding his giant club.

Bora ran over to Whiteout. She took his hand and looked into his eyes. The Tarot Master’s Lovers were together.

Mother Superior fired her own bolt of lightning from her holy flail. It struck Dynamo further damaging her armor.

Realizing that the tank was much too heavy for his powers to move, Centurion X (CX) looked to his compatriots.  He shouted, 'The tank won't move!  We've got to get it to the base of the Tower NOW!!!  A little help here, people!!!!'  CX momentarily waited for others to answer his call.

A few meters away, the once-avenging archer heard the government-golden hero cry for assistance and ask. "Is that monstrosity going to explode?"

CX looked towards the Archer, "In a very BIG way. I sent the fusion plant on overload!"

Daniel looked to his right and saws the fallen Manta Man, the back to his left and saw the Gunsmith struggling to his feet.  Mission first, triage later.  Sweeping past Centurion X he handed the gold-plated avenger his one arrow with a blue nock on it. "When you're ready, attach this to the Tank. It an anti-gravity arrow, has a 45 second duration. I'll see if I can get some help setting up an 'overwatch' for you."

Rounding past CX, the Archer helped steady the Gunsmith to his feet. "You going to be okay?" The blue and grey clad bowman activated his comm-link, "Heroes of Earth. Remember, this isn't a super-brawl at some downtown bank. We fight for the survival of the planet. Take down the Vacuum Tower." Hoping the Gunsmith was in as good a shape as he professed. Focusing his telescopic vision, Archer nodded toward Centurion X, "The golden warrior over there says that Tank is going to explode. Are you in shape to help provide some cover fire for him?"

Gunsmith replied “Always willing and able. Let’s move.”

Pulling out four of his blunt-tipped hunting arrows the Archer tried to lead Gunsmith toward Blizzard. "We need to set up an 'overwatch' to give the Centurion a chance. Let’s see if that ditch can provide us with any cover."

"You've got it Bowman!  You give the word and I'll pass out the party favors!!!!"  CX looked over his intended route.  'No time to be fancy or evasive.  It’s going to be an all or nothing push to the target and hope I can hurl it and get clear before the Grand Finale,' he thought to himself.  Seeing his comrades turned one on another, CX opened a comm channel.

"ATTENTION ALL EARTH FORCES!!!  We all came here with one purpose.  That purpose is to defend our world and secure the freedom of every man, woman and child on the planet!!!  I know Crostafligaburg offered you your heart's desire.  It’s hard.  But You are all HEROES!!!  You know what self-sacrifice is!  NOW STAND UP AND FIGHT FOR YOUR HOME!!!  FIGHT FOR YOUR LOVED ONES!!! FIGHT FOR THE INNOCENTS WHO NEVER ASKED TO HAVE THEIR LIVES THREATENED BY AND INVADING MAGIC JERKOID ARMY!!!!!  If you've switched sides, it’s not too late to switch back!!!  If you're injured, you can still make a difference!!!  FIGHT DAMN YOU FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!"

CX shut down his comm and hoped it is enough to break the aliens spell over his comrades in arms...

CX was unaware that the traitors had all taken off their communication units and did not hear him.

The Knight of Pentacles watched Gunsmith helped up by the hooded archer. “You are one tough son of a gun, Gunsmith but I have you in my sights”

ZWATT!

The Knight’s enchanted rifle blasted Gunsmith, incapacitating him. Gunsmith fell at Blizzard and Archer’s feet.

The Four of Pentacles having watch Gunsmith fall fired his enchanted pistol at Blizzard. Blizzard grunted with pain from the impact but still stood his ground.

War Wagon tried to free himself from the magnetic hold of Magnetor. He fired two rockets. They stream from his armored wheel chair. The rockets exploded against Magnetor’s magnetic barrier. He was unharmed from the blast.

Dreamweaver focused on Tower. She fired a TK Blast at him, missing.

Condor was able to get his wing working again. He flew straight up toward Tengu. Condor tagged him in the jaw with a right cross. Tengu flew to the ground unconscious. “Now we know who the best Wingman is.” Condor said.

Armorman Junior launched another rocket boot powered punch into Terror-izer. This time he hit home smashing a strong blow into the villain.

On the Blackfire, Shipmate #11 attacked Phantom with his cutlass. He struck true, getting past the “White Widow-maker’s” body armor. {GM Note: 10 damage; -5 Invulnerability, -5 PP}

Molecule Man paused to gather his willpower. He knew why he had come here and it was not to trade the Earth for his selfish desires. He turned. Charging at the closest Tarot Master he planned to take all of his shame and regret out on Tower. Unfortunately in his overwrought emotional state he tripped and fell. {GM Note: Roll 20 on to hit and 1 on Fumble table}.

Resonator took his time to get his best shot. He fired a sonic blast hitting Tower in the side. The Giant stumbled to the side but remained standing. He was starting to show signs of the beating he was receiving to be wearing him down but he was still in the fight.

American Woman circled Diablo. It looked like a star chasing a comet. She fired her light beam but missed.

Shipmate #12 attacked Enforcer. His cutlass bounced harmlessly off of the Crusader’s force field.

Nine of Pentacles fired his pistol at Blizzard, missing him. Blizzard returned the attack with a freeze blast of his own. He missed the Pentacle soldier.

Diablo threw a flame blast missing American Woman as well.

Sister Indigo fired spirit bolts as Gauntlet. The bolts struck Gauntlet hard knocking him out.

Shipmate swung his cutlass at Enforcer. He strike missed.

King of Pentacles fired at Blizzard. He missed.

Seven of Pentacles fired at Blizzard. Blizzard was knocked back 15 feet. He quickly got to his feet.

Ten of Pentacles hit Blizzard in the throat but Blizzard escaped without any permanent damage. He rolled with half the damage and continued to fight on.

Emerald fired a TK Blast at Gale saying, “Someday I might regret what I said but not today and not by you”. The blast missed.

Skylark missed Sister Indigo with her sonic scream.

Magnetor shook his head. “What am I doing?” He thought to himself. He released his hold on War Wagon. “I am a protector of Earth, not its destroyer.” He raised his magnetic gun. Magnetor fired a blast at Tower. The shot hit him in the arm. Tower cried in pain as he dropped his giant club. His arm was hurt. He wouldn’t be able to lift the club anymore. With the arming hanging limply at his side Tower attempted to continue the fight.

{GM Note: Rolled a 1 and the arm in the critical hit table. Tower failed his save roll and the arm is now disabled}

Tower punched Molecule Man with his good arm. The blow was not strong enough to get past Molecule Man’s diamond hard skin.

{GM Note: Manta Man failed his wake up roll}

Evergreen attacked Tower with her poisoned thorns. She missed.

Kali swung her power-chucks at Tower. He dodged her strike and was unhurt.

Shipmate #15 swung his cutlass at Phantom. He missed and stuck his blade into the wall. (GM Note: Rolled 20 on attack}

Adamas' plan, now that he had a grip on the Earthen Behemoth was to use him as a battering ram to open up the path.  He was surprised when Terra-rizer started to crumble to pieces around him. He looked down to see the ground swallowing up his opponent. Adamas turned around looking from side to side until he spotted Terra-rizer emerging from the ground in the distance. Before Adamas was able to act an Earth column shot up from in front of him striking him in the chest. The soil smashed harmlessly against him.

{GM Note: Terra-izer has teleportation through the ground as one of his powers. That is what I was describing here. His teleportation by entering the ground. The Earth Column did 19 points of damage, -19 Invulnerability}

Volcanic Man ran toward Tower. “Here you mug, let me put you down” but Tower sidestepped his punch.

Enforcer having lost his gun used his force field to pummel Shipmate #12. The blow landed hard but the shipmate rolled with half the damage and stayed in the fight.

Watching as the traitorous ‘heroes’ rise from the battle below toward the Chariot, Joshua thought. “I’ll deal with The Cure later. No sails, no crew, equals no threat … this ends now.” Activating his comm-link Joshua made a broadband call to all the heroes of the taskforce. “DarkStar to any of Earth’s flying heroes, we need air support up here NOW. We have men down … and not one of us flies.” Nearing terminal velocity at this point DarkStar saw an open spot in the center of the melee and combat teleports, *WHOUMP*.

*WHOUMP*

DarkStar appeared over his target spot.

{GM Note: DarkStar cannot teleport into an object and use the velocity he had accumulated. He has to hit it. Teleporting within an object also eliminates the protection Invulnerability provides. This was a special attack to hit an exact spot on the Blackfire. DarkStar made both of his To Hit rolls.}

“There! Fire NOW!” Red Fury commanded when she saw DarkStar appear. She fired a vibro blast from her magic cutlass. She struck DarkStar in the chest.

{GM Note: 21 damage; -21 Invulnerability}

Skyhawk fired his power blast at DarkStar striking him.

{GM Note: 9 damage; -9 Invulnerability}

Shipmate #9 fired one of Blackfire’s magical cannons at DarkStar. The blast hit him.

{GM Note: 15 damage; -10 PP and -5 HP}

CRASH!

DarkStar slammed into the deck of the Blackfire. Wooden beams shattered under the force. DarkStar entered the hull of the ship. He slammed into the bottom of the Blackfire. The wooden structure buckled as he smashed through. DarkStar fell to the ground below.

{GM Note: 48 points of damage are rolled; DarkStar takes ½ in a move through attack when his Invulnerability is gone. DarkStar takes 24 points of damage from the move through; -9PP and -15HP.The Deck’s structure rating and hits points are less than 48. 9 points are subtracted from the 48. The remaining 39 points are greater than the Ship’s floor structure rating and hits points. Its 9 points are subtracted from the 39}

WHAMP!

DarkStar slammed into the ground creating a small crater.

{GM Note: Since both the ground and DarkStar’s structure ratings are the same. The remaining 30 points of damage is split evenly between the ground and DarkStar. DarkStar takes 15 point of damage; -8 PP and -7 HP}

On the Blackfire the DarkStar’s impact on the deck created a shockwave felt through the entire ship.

{GM Note: DarkStar performed a dual attack on the ship. His second attack was his shockwave power he gained in his last level advancement. The velocity he was traveling does not increase damage done but instead increases the range of the attack.}

The shockwave was so massive that it threw everyone off the Blackfire with the exceptions of Shipmate #4 and Cure who was below deck. All the cannons except one are ripped from their fixtures. They are either thrown from the ship or broken to pieces. All those caught in the shockwave were thrown 20 feet or more from the ship.

Hearing DarkStar’s call The Stellar Powered Sentinel replied. "This is Starbolt, I am on the way."  He flew up to the Blackfire with Laserfire and Blastar following. Seeing their teammates being thrown from the ship, they quickly split up to catch them.

Magus had ignored Elwood's suggestion about going to speak to young Mary, but this didn't ruffle Elwood.  We have yet to see what can ruffle the gentle retired accountant.

Looking away from Magus and down to the ground, Elwood tugged his brown slacks at the knees and bent down to the ground.  "Hmm?  Wha, oh nothing is wrong buddy," he said with a smile and a look up to the area in front of Magus.  "I just noticed that my shoelace is loose and I would rather not have a spill."  He quickly finished his task, stood up straight alongside Magus and surveyed the field.  "OK pal.  You be careful.  No, no.  Don't worry about me.  I'll stay here and keep an eye on our new friends.  Enjoy yourself."

Magus and Elwood are shoulder to shoulder so Elwood quietly held his flask out in front of Magus, just below his chest and said nothing but he began to whistle a catchy tune.

With a stoically blank look in his eyes, Magus stopped what he was doing and just looked calmly at Elwood for a moment as if he just realized he was there. In that brief moment in time a sudden rush of clarity had overcome him. He then looked at the people he once called ally and saw them turning on him, drunk on false promises and the selfish need to change their own lives regardless of how many lives that change would cost. He then listened to several of his allies yelling and shouting orders over the Task-force's comm-system, but heard only the overlapping and chaotic cries of allies who so desperately craved power and were completely consumed by their own self-importance. He then looked back at gentle Elwood and saw a kind and selfless man who only wanted to help others, and was instantly reminded of what a true hero is. The 'Cosmic Champion' then thought to himself, " . . . and they think him the insane one." Magus placed his hand firmly on Elwood's shoulder and with a renewed sense of strength in his voice said, "Thank you, Elwood." Magus then looked towards the sky and said aloud, "It’s time to end this . . .” With a sudden burst of speed, Magus took to the sky, cloaked in an aura of determination and resolve. As he rocketed towards The Blackfire, an ancient incantation slipped from his lips and he was instantly adorned in a light blue, luminescent suit of transparent knight’s armor. Nearing the flying ship; Magus spoke to Adamas through his Amulet of the Arcane, "If I should fail, you will assume command . . . I am trusting you to lead these people and to uphold the oath you sworn so long ago . . . defend this world at all cost."

Queen of Pentacles fired at Blizzard, missing.

The Page of Pentacles didn’t have any better luck with his shot at Blizzard missing too.

Five of Pentacles tried to clear his eyes from the blindness caused by the flare arrow but failed.

Laserfire caught Enforcer. His force field protected him from Laserfire’s flame aura.

Blastar caught Seeker. He informed the others he was taking Seeker back to the edge of the coral. He thought that would be a good place to provide aid those that were hurt.

Starbolt created two solid light platforms which he caught Chat Noir and Phantom with.

Cindermaid caught Red Fury. She carried her back to the Vacuum Tower. They went inside to regroup with the other Tarot Masters.

Spacer Racer flew at Magus. He power slammed into Magus with his force field.

{GM Note: Space Racer does 15 points of damage to Magus’ Armor. -15 ADR}

Super Nova fired 4 flame blasts at Shatterman. All hit overwhelming his defenses. Shatterman was incapacitated.

At the edge of the coral a figure emerge. It moved quickly and low to the ground. It came to a stop at Manta Man if anyone took time to look they would have seen Manta Lad!

Serena hoped her disguise would cause a reaction in Manta Man. Anything to bring him back. She yelled, “Manta Man wake up! I need your help! Please it’s me Manta Lad! PLEASE WAKE UP!

Manta Man did not stir.

{GM Note: Serena’s action provided Manta Man with a second wake up roll this turn. He failed it.}

Six of Pentacles missed with his shot at Blizzard.

Blizzard was beginning to wonder how safe the spot he was in really was with all the magical bullets flying around him.

Red Hildegarde and Airbiscuit flew across the battlefield after Terra-rizer. Airbiscuit kicked at the World Tarot Master but missed. Red Hildegarde didn’t. She hit him hard with her sword, Nothung. Terra-rizer staggered under the blow but still stood.

Red Hawk thought to himself.”I can’t believe so many 'heroes' turned on us. Even knowing it meant the destruction of our planet they still bought into this ... this things lies.” Watching as Skyhawk and the other heroes turned villain from the air teams vacate the battlefield, Red Hawk maintained pursuit blasting away at the back of the emerald clad flyer.

Red Hawk’s blast missed Skyhawk.

Klondike charged toward the Tarot Master Tower. He swung his massive fist but Tower blocked the blow.

Three of Pentacles blinked the spots from his eyes. With his sight restored he asked for direction. The King indicated Blizzard was the target. Three tried to line up his shot but his sight was still blurry. He picked 1 of the 3 Blizzards he saw and fired. He picked the wrong one. His shot missed.

Eight of Pentacles missed with his shot on Blizzard.

Adamas signaled to Centurion X he was ready to lead the way as he ripped a huge section of armor plating from the other tank. Seeing Adamas was ready to clear the way, CX magnetically bound the anti-gravity arrow to the tank.  He activated the arrow and stretches his magnetic control over the tank.  He controlled it and used himself as a propulsion unit to push the weightless nuke into position.

Over the Comm - "Orchid, we're mobile.  Clear the A O E!!!"

Whiteout merged with Bola forming a 10 foot tall Ice Giant

It raised its hands toward Adamas.

Archer reacted to the threat. He fired two arrows at its head. Both struck the Ice Giant’s head but it rolled with all the damage and was not fazed.

The Ice Giant fired an ice blast in front of Adamas. It created a barrier in front of him.

He smashed through the barrier. He continued to clear the path for the floating tank.

The Shroud fired a lightning bolt which Adamas blocked. The make shift shield withstood the blast.

Ion fired his bolt as well. The armor charred and cracked but Adamas and the tank with CX pushing it continued on.

Barring any further complication, CX pushed the unit until it was such a range that he could guide the tank into the Vacuum Tower. He was able to get a minimum safe distance from the blast before it goes critical.

He thought to himself, "I hope that little pep talk brings some of those lost to the enemy back to our side.  We were outnumbered to begin with."

Inside the Vacuum Tower on the second floor The Wraith watched the Tarot Masters in total darkness. He wasn’t sure why this floor was dark when the other floors were not. He was surprised that the darkness did not hinder the workers at all. It had to do something with their being Zombies. “Maybe the magic which reanimated them didn’t enable their senses but they guided themselves by some other means.”

Black Orchid hid in the shadows on the first floor watching Red Fury confer with Justice Avenger and Hierophant. What they were saying she couldn’t hear over the moans the Zombies were making as they carried equipment up the stairs.

On the outside of the Vacuum Tower the Tank Exploded.

KA-BLAM!!!!

A mushroom cloud filled the area surrounding Stonehenge. An eerie silence replaced all sound in the area. All stared in to the smoke and dust to see the results.

The Vacuum Tower emerged intact and standing. Its force field had withstood the blast.

The Priestess survived the blast by diving behind the Vacuum Tower putting it between her and the explosion.

The Shroud laid dead where he had been caught in the blast.

The Ice Giant was severely hurt by the blast but while wounded was still able to stand.

DarkStar ducked in time into the crater he had made. The blast missed him.

DarkStar watched as Adamas was blown 155 feet away from the explosion. He could tell the blast had incapacitated his friend.

{GM Note: 53 points of damage; -5 Invulnerability, -12PP, and -36 HP.}

Terra-izer was knocked out by the blast.

{GM Note: Terra-izer has HP left. He took 45 points of damage on HP. He rolled 37% on KO roll}

Red Hildegarde was thrown 90 feet from the explosion. She was incapacitated from the explosion.

Airbiscuit was thrown 115 feet from the explosion.  While seriously wounded Airbiscuit is still awake and mobile.

Ion was incapacitated from the explosion.

King of Pentacles was incapacitated from the explosion

Queen of Pentacle was saved by her force field. It short circuited from the blast but she was unharmed.

The explosion incapacitated the Five of Pentacles

The explosion vaporized the Three of Pentacles
{GM Note: 61 points of damage which exceeded PP, HP, and Basic Hits by 7 points. Nothing was left}

Four and Ten of Pentacles were incapacitated by the explosion.

The Blackfire was caught in the blast. It destroyed the port side of the ship including the last functioning cannon.

Cure was caught in the blast as well. Magus watched her crash through the other side of the ship flying 95 feet to smash into the ground. He saw that she was not wearing her protective suit and was incapacitated. He could see the Latarium radiation rising from her prone body.

Red Hawk watched in horror as he saw Skyhawk vaporized by the nuclear blast.
{GM Note: 73 points of damage which exceeded PP, HP, and Basic Hits by 1 point. Nothing was left}

Black Orchid and the others in the Vacuum Tower were safe from the explosion. Suddenly a loud commotion was heard, as someone scream the zombies weren’t obeying orders. Their low moans changed to load groans but it wasn’t really a groan. It was a word. They were saying a single word.

Brains!!

OOC: I like the way this girl thinks Marc with any luck Archer's arrows will go off (fingers crossed)

Open OOC topic to all Players interested.

Hey Marc I'm curious does Annie have an idea on how to bring the Tower down? I think we need to (IC: RP-ing) have some heroes start running interference and others specifically be assigned to attacking the Tower. I might be able to get DarkStar free next Issue depending on how events go at the flying ship this turn. I think Centurion's going to try and ram the Tower with one of the tanks, but the villain called Tower at its nose and heavy hitters like Supernova to get past I would hate to see the odds Vegas puts on that one without some extra hero help.

Just hoping to generate some conversation with the idea we all might coordinate the heroes’ actions next turn/issue

Best luck everyone.
John
-----------------------------------------------------------
Even if we have intercoms, we're not using them now since the "new bad guys" can still hear us. The Black Orchid wasn't planning this so she doesn't have a specific action in mind other than staying ahead of the tank and trying to clear the way, which she would have told Centurion X.

John
-----------------------------------------------------------
OOC: I was thinking about the comm-issue. Unless we can get out own telepathic switchboard we still need to be able to communicate. The obvious, is just to realize whatever plans we make might not be a secret and just deal with that. On the other side, I think DarkStar might be able to get Cybil to switch all the StarCorp comms of the loyal heroes to a secondary channel or just deactivate the traitor heroes comms - I'll have to check with Tom on that.

John

Man, this is EPIC!

Loved Gauntlets response, did Jeff sneak in here? :)

Love the maps!

Jon

Tom,

I think my boys have 2 actions this time because I only used movement last time.  Is this correct?

I am working on a complicated and fun illusion, and it might take 2 actions to pull off.

Let me know.  Thanks.

Mike
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes you have two actions for your boys this turn.

Tom
-------------------------------------------------------------
OOC:  Is Tank #1 disabled as in it will no longer move on its own?

IC OPTION #1 - [The Tank is Immobile] Seeing that his plan needs to be altered, CX reaches out with his magnetic control and seizes the crippled tank. Activating his comm he calmly states, 'Orchid, Tank is immobile.  I am clear but moving it myself.  Be sure you are clear.'  He then stops transmitting.  Having given as much warning as he dares, CX pushes his magnetic control to it limits and hurls the tank into the base of the invader's tower.

IC OPTION #2 - [The Tank is Mobile] As the tank rolls forward, CX reaches out with his Magnetic Control and lifts what is left of the other tank.  Using it a battering ram, he slams it into the gigantic opponent standing in the way of his tank's progression.  He hopes to knock the giant out of the tank's way

Dave
-----------------------------------------------------------
OOC: Tank #1 can no longer move on its own.

Option #1 will not work. The tank weighs 200,000 lbs and CX can lift 1,450 lbs magnetically. Even if we decided that the Tank lost 1% of its weight for every point of damage it would weigh 136,000 as the disabled wreck.

Best

Tom
--------------------------------------------------------------
OOC:  Alrighty then...  New plan!

IC:  Realizing that the tank is much too heavy for his powers to move, CX looks to his compatriots.  He shouts, 'The tank won't move!  We've got to get it to the base of the Tower NOW!!!  A little help here, people!!!!'  CX will momentarily wait for others to answer his call.

Dave
-----------------------------------------------------------
Archer OOC: I’m on vacation so I'm going to try and get away with being a little lazy (lol). I know V&V has to levels of damages for vehicles and the Tank is obviously "disabled" (visions of Daniel's bike come to mind). Just his close does the Tank look to being demolished?  ;-)

<Archer IC response> A few meters away, the once-avenging archer hears the government-golden hero cry for assistance and ask. "Is that monstrosity going to explode?"

John
------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, it looks like it’s a car wreck and will have to be towed away. The front is smashed and the exterior weapons have been destroyed. The tractor tracks are destroyed and the axles are broken. Of the armor 1/3 is scorched or bent but the shell is still intact and most of the armor is there but all the paint burned off. The electronics and fusion reactor are still working.

Centurion IC: CX looks towards the Archer, "In a very BIG way. I sent the fusion plant on overload!"

OOC: Tom would I be right in assuming that giving/handing/tossing Centurion X one of Archer's gadget-arrows would only cost some of his movement?

Dave

OOC: Correct, movement only.

Tom,
Just wondering, could Starbolt use his creation points to create an item to throw the Cure into Tower? Will this be too many actions? If not, Could I go with just grabbing the Cure and throwing her later?

Jamey
-----------------------------------------------------------
Grabbing is one action and throwing her is a second. So this turn you could grab her. Be sure to tell me how many creation points you use.

Tom
----------------------------------------------------------
How soon do the creation points replenish? That would help dictate how many I would use

Jamey
----------------------------------------------------------
They don't replenish. If you do not have enough for a second creation you have to dissolve the first creation to free the needed creation points.

Thanks
Tom

... and the battle rages

[OOC: Thanks for the rule clarification Tom. You know, I kept getting thrown off by the size of the Blackfire compared to everything else so I had to go Google some Stonehenge images to see how small an area this fight is actually taking place in. Holy Cow.]

<Archer: IC response> A few meters away, the once-avenging archer hears the government-golden hero cry for assistance and ask. "Is that monstrosity going to explode?"

Centurion IC: CX looks towards the Archer, "In a very BIG way. I sent the fusion plant on overload!"

<Archer: 2nd IC response> Daniel looks to his right and sees the fallen Manta Man, the back to his left and sees the Gunsmith struggling to his feet.  Mission first, triage later.  Sweeping past Centurion X he hands the gold-plated avenger his one arrow with a blue nock on it. "When you're ready, attach this to the Tank. It an anti-gravity arrow, has a 45 second duration. I'll see if I can get some help setting up an 'overwatch' for you."

Rounding past CX, the Archer helps steady the Gunsmith to his feet. "You going to be okay?" The blue and grey clad bowman activates his comm-link, "Heroes of Earth. Remember, this isn't a super-brawl at some downtown bank. We fight for the survival of the planet. Take down the Tower." Hoping the Gunsmith is in as good a shape as he professes. Focusing his telescopic vision, Archer nods toward Centurion X, "The golden warrior over there says that Tank is going to explode. Are you in shape to help provide some cover fire for him?"

Pulling out four of his blunt-tipped hunting arrows the Archer tries to lead Gunsmith toward Blizzard. "We need to set up an 'overwatch' to give the Centurion a chance. Let’s see if that ditch can provide us with any cover."

<Archer: Goals> the anti-gravity arrow should give Centurion 3 turns to maneuver the Tank without assistance. Even without the explosion its sheer mass combined with any magnetic toss / flight speed idea he comes up with should do some hefty damage to that Tower.

It's getting past the bad guys that worries me. So to that effect I'm trying to have Archer refocus the all the heroes on the primary mission goal and if it gives a few good guys turned bad a chance to break Cr’togerf spell so much the better. With any luck Gunsmith and Blizzard and a few other ranged heroes will help with the Overwatch.

<Archer: Actions> Hand Centurion the Anti-gravity Arrow. (his character probably knows all the physics - lol) Try a bit of impromptu battlefield organization. His actual "action" will be "held". Using his Marksman ability, anyone Archer sees trying to physically intercept the Centurion will get a dual-special attack to the head from the master bowman. Time to see if that 2nd level advancement was worth it :)

Woot, good game Tom

OOC:  Great ideas there Mister Russell!!!  This is very fun!  And what’s wrong with a super brawl at the bank, anyway?!  LOL   Just kidding!

IC: "You've got it Bowman!  You give the word and I'll pass out the party favors!!!!"  CX looks over his intended route.  'No time to be fancy or evasive.  It’s going to be an all or nothing push to the target and hope I can hurl it and get clear before the Grand Finale,' he thinks to himself.  Seeing his comrades turned one on another, CX opens a comm channel.

CX shuts down his comm and hopes it is enough to break the aliens spell over his comrades in arms...

OOC: Very cool idea, nice use of resources, and sharing the arrow, brilliant!

IC: Adamas' plan, now that he has a grip on the Behemoth is to use him as a battering ram to open up the path.  He'll fly ahead of the tank; hopefully anyone seeing him coming lofting Terra-Rizer is going to get out of the way.  If not, he'll attempt a move through, using him as a very large cudgel. (Thought that was appropriate, given the location.)

Viva the resistance!

OOC: He's going to try to match the speed of the Tank, staying just ahead... so he'll be validating that movement as he goes.

Jon

OOC: I am not seeing CX use the arrow and start moving the tank this turn? Do you intend to do that this turn or are you waiting to see the results of his announcement.

Thanks
Tom
------------------------------------------------------------
OOC:  CX was waiting for some escort, since that is now being provided, here we go!

IC:  Seeing the opponent turned into a battering ram to clear the way, CX magnetically binds the anti-gravity arrow to the tank.  He will activate the arrow and stretch his magnetic control over the tank.  He will control it and use himself as a propulsion unit to push the weightless nuke into position.  Barring further complication, he will push the unit until it is such a range that he can guide the tank into the Tower.  Hopefully he will be able to get a minimum safe distance from the blast before it goes critical.

He thinks to himself, "I hope that little pep talk brings some of those lost to the enemy back to our side.  We were outnumbered to begin with."

Over the Comm - "Orchid, we're mobile.  Clear the A O E!!!"

IC: Red Fury looked to the sky. "DarkStar isn’t below deck. I heard that WHOUMP sound he makes. I believe he is dropping onto the Blackfire. Skyhawk, Cure, Cindermaid, Space Racer blast him out of the Sky! Protect the Chariot!" She said.

OOC: I am asking this because normally Adamas is 1 of the first to act but since he is delaying waiting for Centurion X's phase there is a "What If" situation. I have already determined the order of all characters. I do this to try to figure out the NPC actions before I get the players turn.

This limits my determining NPC's who move first doing something because I subconsciously know what the PC is about to do. I don't roll the results because that would make it harder for me to play them as individual. I do adjust because of earlier events the NPC would know but I already have a path planned for them.

That was a long way to say that Terra-Rizer will get his action before the Tank moves. If Terra-Rizer escapes would Adamas go after him, even if it meant he can't carry out his planned action or would he ripped a piece of armor off the other Tank so he could still carry out his action with the Armor Plating instead of Terra-Rizer?

To rip of the plating would only be movement so he could still follow your original action as stated.

Thanks
Tom
----------------------------------------------------------
OOC: We'll go with the plating, "if" Terra-Rizer escapes...

It's more important to clear the path for CX at this point.  We need to turn this around, now!

<DarkStar IC: Action and Responses> Watching from the traitorous ‘heroes’ rise from the battle below toward the Chariot. I’ll deal with The Cure later. No sails, no crew, equals no threat … this ends now. Activating his comm-link Joshua makes a broadband call to all the heroes of the taskforce. “DarkStar to any of Earth’s flying heroes, we need air support up here NOW. We have men down … and not one of us flies.” Nearing terminal velocity at this point DarkStar sees an open spot in the center of the melee and combat teleports, *whoump*.

DarkStar Goal: Eliminate the threat of the crew in one stroke by using a shockwave through the wooden planking on the ship. Tom if it is okay with you please apply the damage from his terminal velocity to the Shockwave attack. If not then as you deem best using the dual-attack rule. I’ll be good with however you see it working best. I’ve attached a picture of how I visualized it going off. Thanks.

Hearing Darkstars call The Stellar Powered Sentinel replies. "This is Starbolt, I am on the way." Upon arrival he will attempt to create a structure to carry as many of the heroes as he can.
OOC: If any of the villains or turned heroes try to delay him he will go over, under, or through them.

John

I don't think it is proper to increase the Shockwave damage. I will add the terminal velocity to his strength to determine the range of the shockwave. So the range of the shockwave will increase from 4 inches or 20 feet to 6 inches or 50 feet. Since the ship is a wooden structure that is floating in the air I am awarding another 6 inches. So the shockwave is 2d12 damage but the wave covers the entire ship.

Hey Tom
Shock wave thing sounds just fine. It's a play it by ear power/effect so pretty much whatever works for you is good with me when this kind of thing pops up.

I see Magus is turning into the team anvil (lol) the aerial battle looks like it about to get real interesting. ;-).

Good Fun

<Red Hawk IC: Response and Actions> I can't believe so many 'heroes' turned on us. Even knowing it means the destruction of our planet they still bought into this ... this things lies. Watching as Skyhawk and the other heroes turned villain from the air teams vacate the battlefield, Red Hawk maintains pursuit blasting away at the back of the emerald clad flyer.

Goals: Red Hawk is trying to follow up on his initial attack of Skyhawk with the idea of providing the sir support the battle plan had originally called for.

MAGUS'S RESPONSE

ELWOOD IC:

Magus had ignored Elwood's suggestion about going to speak to young Mary, but this didn't ruffle Elwood.  We have yet to see what can ruffle the gentle retired accountant.

Looking away from Magus and down to the ground, Elwood tugs his brown slacks at the knees and bends down to the ground.  "Hmm?  Wha, oh nothing is wrong buddy," he says with a smile and a look up to the area in front of Magus.  "I just noticed that my shoelace is loose and I would rather not have a spill."  He quickly finishes his task, stands up straight alongside Magus and surveys the field.  "OK pal.  You be careful.  No, no.  Don't worry about me.  I'll stay here and keep an eye on our new friends.  Enjoy yourself."

Magus and Elwood are shoulder to shoulder so Elwood quietly holds his flask out in front of Magus, just below his chest and says nothing but he begins to whistle a catchy tune.

MAGUS IC:

As he rocketed towards The Blackfire, an ancient incantation slipped from his lips and he was instantly adorned in a light blue, luminescent suit of transparent knights armor (OOC: Armor of the Ageless Spell - 100 ADR, PR=10 ). Nearing the flying ship; Magus spoke to Adamas through his Amulet of the Arcane, "If I should fail, you will assume command . . . I am trusting you to lead these people and to uphold the oath you sworn so long ago . . . defend this world at all cost."

MAGUS OOC:

Tom, you listed Magus's Adaption Defense as 'Inactive' - doesn't that power activate automatically as a defense whenever needed? If not, I would like to activate it - " . . . Adaptation is also usable as a defense: each time it is used as the character's defense against any attack, one power point must be expended. Adaptation activates automatically at no action or movement cost, whenever needed."

PHANTOM'S RESPONSE

PHANTOM IC:

The 'White Widow-maker' releases his grip on his assault rifle and reaches quickly for his two semi-automatic pistols. With cold-hearted killer instincts acting as his guide, the ' Vengeful Vigilante' aims the pistols at the two Shipmate's in front of him and squeezes off two rounds with each weapon ( OOC: two shots to the head at both Shipmate #8 and Shipmate #11 - if you feel that he can't see #8, Phantom will take two shots at Shipmate #11's head and two at his chest ).

Talk to you guys soon,

-Kev

You are correct. I forgot the last line on the Adaptation as a defense. I will update the report.

IC: Mary turned to Red Fury "Sorry Red but we don't orders from you. I am the voice of he who loves us. Space Racer you and Skyhawk go at and take down Magnus. I'll mop this up." Mary's words sound hard and cold. She then looks at Phantom and Enforcer “If I were you I'd call Big Blue for an evac." As she flies away she yells to the ship's crew "Make them walk the plank!" As Mary heads in to the ship's hold she takes off her suit once again to poison the ship's crew.

OOC: Mary heads down to the belly of the ship. If she bumps into darknuts she lets him know she's back and get the team off the ship and that see sent racer and shyhawk to go after Magnuts and that what he did to me to break the spell do to them. If the crew comes after Mary she will blast them
